[The feed clicks on to show a green skinned young woman wearing a black unitard and blue cape. Behind her is a large red spaceship. She spares a glance back at it before moving on and addressing the network.]

I'll cut right to the chase with this. Since the ship's completion and the AI's announcement of a test flight, it's only natural that we have a back up plan in case something does go amiss. I have no intention of anyone having to be... reconstructed. [Yes, that was a shot at the AI.]

Whether you've been in space before or just want to make sure things go smoothly, I'll be taking the bio-ship up myself to serve as a relief transport should the occasion arrise. Assistance would be helpful. Anyone not journeying on the initial flight who's willing and able to join me in case of emergency, please let me know here.

Additionally, the bio-ship is my own vessel, and she responds to my telepathic commands, so there's no need for much special equipment. If there are questions, please ask before potentially joining me. [She pauses.] My name's M'gann M'orzz, by the way. Thank you.

[And the feed shuts off.]

((ooc; As stated here, M'gann is accompanying the shuttle to serve as a second transport/just-in-case vessel. Since nothing's actually going to go wrong that I know of, this is just another chance for other characters to get a look at space. 8D))

Hello, fellow Transports! I know we're in a bit of a pinch right now what with this super-virus mutating and infecting some of the population, but if you have a minute I've got some questions I'd appreciate some answers to. Some of them may help either now, if we're going to be trying to treat this virus at all, or in the future should anything like this happen again.

What's your name?
Age?
Place of origin? Planet, country, and city of origin would be the most helpful.
Species? If you're anything other than a baseline human, does your biology differ in any notable ways?
What occupation did you have in your world of origin? "Student" and "unemployed" are perfectly valid answers.
Do you have any prior experience with war?
Time travel?
Alternate universes?
Technology at the level the Initiative is operating with?
Do you have any background in medicine?
What about the STEM fields? For anyone who doesn't know, that would be Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
What kind of weapon did you choose upon entrance to Exsilium? If it has a special function, feel free to include that at your discretion.
Have you made use of the Initiative's training areas outside of mandatory training hours?
If you answered no to the above, why not?
What is your opinion on the Initiative and their missions?

Feel free to skip any questions you feel are too intrusive, or encrypt things if you would like to answer but would rather not answer to the whole network. Similarly, if you would like to answer but don't trust the Initiative's technology, I can currently be found in the library (the one not in the Hold) and would love to either talk face to face or take answers written elsewhere. Look for the blonde in the Metropolis University sweatshirt. Any and all private communication will be kept completely confidential and is only to satisfy my own curiosity. Thank you in advance for any answers!

And, out of the interest of fairness, I'll give you my own answers to this little survey.

cut because holy wow this is getting long )

[ ooc | here, have a textbox with the survey in it to make filling it out easier! ]

The new batch of Transports should be arriving any day now I think. I know we try our best to welcome them and make them feel comfortable, but how long should we wait before letting them know what they're really in for here? Hearing it from the guide is very different than seeing the reality first hand. There's only so much that people can take right off the bat.

[She exhales slowly.]

It's just something to consider. We don't know when things might move forward again, either. Having them thrown into this mess the day after they're pulled here would be a disaster if they're not fully informed.

What would you have preferred if given the choice for your arrival?

[The video feed clicks on, tablet hovering a short distance from its owner. M'gann is located in the armory, and she's standing in front of what looks like a large red egg. A bright smile is in place, and it's taking all she has to contain her excitement. It helps that she's already flown around in glee; no one else really needs to see that, right? Right.

The martian places her hand on the side of the object as she addresses the network, clearly ready to burst from happiness.]

Um, I'm not really sure how to start this, so I guess jumping right in is the best way to do it. This [she pats the thing] is my Bio-Ship. She's an organic ship from my home world. I know she looks odd right now, but she's at rest. Normally she'll respond to my commands and wake up, however, right now, she's a little worse for wear. I'm not entirely sure what happened, but I'm sure it's fixable! She'll just need time and maintenance.

[M'gann pauses and faces the ship for a moment, something occurring to her.] I'd love to have some help working on her right away, but first, I'll need to get her out of here. The doors's too small, though that could be easily fixed. It looks like the main problem will be transporting her. Since my commands aren't enough right now, we'll have to physically move her, whether it be strength or teleportation or telekinetic efforts.

I can't do this alone. I'm positive some of you are more than enough to get this job completed. I'd be very grateful for any help! I'll be in the armory or over the network if there are questions of any kind!

[ The feed clicks on. All that can be seen is from the mouth and down. The suit might look familiar to some - Conner is more than familiar with the well-known R symbol himself - and to others, maybe they'll know who the faceless person appearing is by his voice alone. ]

So this... really happened, huh? If you have my body, I want it back. In one piece. Until then - try to be careful with what you touch.

[ Dryly he then adds: ] ... definitely feeling the aster with this one.

[ And the feed ends. ]

12 March 2013 @ 10:26 pm
[ As always, the video feed turns on - she may not use the network much, but she did when she needed to. This time, Lucy is seated at a desk with balls upon balls upon balls of crumpled up pieces of paper. She gave a dejected little sigh. No matter how hard she tried, her stories just weren't forming the way she wanted them to. She knew why at least - kinda. She needed a distraction, desperately. Finally, she let out a frustrated noise, flailing at the desk and shredding a piece of paper before running her hands through her hair. She'd been TRYING (key word) to write about the latest capers with the body swapping and everything, even though she wasn't affected by it, but... ]

Aaaa - Darnit!!

[ HUFF. ]

I'm not making any progress on this whatsoever. It's not even writer's block, it's just..

[ She stopped there, brown eyes shifting towards the feed as she stretched one arm over her head, the other reaching behind her head to grasp her elbow. MRPH. ]

I think I need some air. Anyone want to come with me? I was thinking about exploring the Outlands a little. A distraction should be just what I need to get a fresh start on this.

11 March 2013 @ 03:49 am
[The feed shows a teenager with red hair. Really red. He's more ginger than a Weasley. He's still trying to figure out the device, apparently. The setting seems to be a kitchen, nothing special.

He sighs, making the bangs fly away from his nose, if only briefly.]

That mission was... something. I want to thank everyone who helped me when I first got here. As it turns out, I've got a couple questions for anyone who wants to answer them.

First, where can I get a journal? Nothing fancy-- I just need a place to write things down. As long as it can handle being shoved in an item bag, it'll be fine.

Also, is everything the Initiative told us true? It's not that I can't believe what's in front of me, but I like to see things for myself. I just got here, so I don't know much. About anything, really.

I think that's it for now. ... Thanks. [He fumbles with the device a bit, brow furrowed, and then it shuts off.]

08 March 2013 @ 02:42 pm
[There's a scoff. This is really laughable at this point. Arthur's body appears on the screen, and he's definitely not wearing anything, but his precious jewels aren't flashing about. Ygritte's too amused at this point. Merely because Arthur seems so upset about being in her body.

And let's face it, Ygritte's far better than he is.]

So this is what it's like, aye? To be a male, to have some worm between me legs? [Another scoff.]

Oh, pardon me. A royal prick between m'legs.

[She's a prince now.]

My people'd laugh at the notion. Just because my father is some so called king. Well not my father. Wonder if I've got any sort of servant to wipe m'arse.

[Snort.]

And this is some big deal?

[Yeah, right.]

04 March 2013 @ 07:39 pm
[ The video feed opens in a rather mundane fashion: an expressionless man sitting within the library in the Initiative Hold, his tablet on a desk in front of him as he pages through a book--a somewhat battered old volume of history. ]

I have two questions. I would appreciate some answers, if you could.

[ His voice is deep and serious, but also remarkably flat and toneless. ]

I understand that the other "Transports" here represent a wide variety of worlds. How many come from one with similar components to this one? A ruined Earth, or one near ruin, and a repressive absolute government guiding humanity in the wake of that disaster.

[ He closes the book and sets it down on the desk just out of the screen's frame. ]

The second question is simple. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can find decent coffee?

01 March 2013 @ 06:49 pm
Say, if you're an alien, I have a question for you. What was your world like? Do you miss it? Please tell me about it if you feel like it. Did you get to fly a space ship? Was that fun? What kind of fun things did you do? Are humans weird? What's the weirdest thing about them? Do you like humans? Did you ever meet humans when you were an alien?

[Okay, that's a bunch of questions. But she doesn't self-correct.]

Also, does anyone here know how to do magic? And if you do, is it magic you can teach to anybody? I think it would be pretty neat to know how to do some magic, and it could come in handy sometime. If you do please let me know.

22 February 2013 @ 09:26 pm
[ she almost made this anonymous, but in the end concluded she could figure out a way to ask what she wanted without incriminating herself. ]

I have two questions for everyone.

1) Are there people here who have more than human abilities that can affect other people's minds? And if so, are any of them willing to help others train in resistance of mental interference?

2) How many people here have no experience fighting?

Oh actually 3 questions, I guess. I wouldn't mind finding a few people to spar with, if anyone else is looking. I used to do martial arts as a hobby, so I'm not entirely inexperienced.

[ ooc: if anyone wants to log out / action sparring encounters just let me know! ]

09 February 2013 @ 08:10 pm
[Rain. That's what the video catches for a good few minutes. That, and the occasional upside down passerby. Soon enough, M'gann reaches a hand over and takes the tablet, angling it so it shows her sitting by a restaurant window under an awning. Instead of her usual green complexion, she appears to be an average caucasian female, made to blend right in with the natives.

Eyes facing the camera, the martian stares at it a moment before sighing.]

Maybe it's the rain finally getting to me, but I can't help feeling a little restless right now. And I know we just had a big mission not even two weeks ago in addition to all the chaos before that. I don't get it.

I've tried meditation, baking and even walking around the city. Nothing's helped so far. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can shake this? Who knows, maybe just talking to someone will make a difference. I'm open to ideas.

Telepathy to Blue )

03 February 2013 @ 05:34 pm
[The video feed comes on to show what appears to be a young woman, still dressed in the outfit she arrived in. She has found her way to the apartments, thanks to Jake's help, but there was no sign of her friends. And so she decided to use the tablet to try to see if she can reach them after practicing her cover story - since she's not sure if this place is safe to reveal herself as a princess or not.]

[Though the camera is a bit skewed as she's pretty to this stuff]

The Initiative said I should introduce myself over the tablet...I hope I'm doing this right.

My name is Dagger. I come from the kingdom of Alexandria, in...[a pause since this is weird to say] the world Gaia. I'm part of a theater trope, but I promise I'm no stranger to battles! I hope to help as much as I can!

And if you're in Unit 110, I'll be your new roommate. I hope we get along well!

Also, I'm looking for my friends I was traveling with. Their names are Zidane and Vivi. Zidane has blond hair and a tail, while Vivi is a small boy with a large pointed hat.

If anyone has any information on them, I'd like to know.

[a beat and oh yeah!]

Thanks.

[And the feed ends]

26 January 2013 @ 10:53 pm
[ So here's Jesse and Collette, grinning stupidly at the camera and looking like they've got a plan up their sleeves. Jesse's the first to speak, rubbing his hands together excitedly: ]

Okay, so like... I heard there's superheroes here. Like real, bona fide superheroes. Costumes and everything. And, like, where I come from, you know, we don’t really got superheroes except in stories. So we were thinking it'd be real cool...

[ Collette glances at Jesse, then to the camera. She blurts out something that surely will never ever cause immense embarrassment once she learns the extent of the super heroes she's been around (discounting Barnaby and Kotetsu, who are weird anyway): ]

... If we could meet a few of you in person, and maybe even get an autograph!

19 January 2013 @ 05:13 pm
[Getting here and being thrown right into the thick of things? It's kind of like hitting the ground running, and he's nothing if not good at acting on exactly what he's given. But, he thinks in some ways it's made processing everything that much harder.

Too much information, not enough context. It's not exactly a pleased expression he's wearing, but it's not hostile either
]

This is Captain James Kirk, of the USS Enterprise. If any of my crew, or any other active member of Starfleet happen to be here, do me a favour and report in.

[He pauses to weigh his next words carefully. Considering the communication methods were given to him, he doesn't trust them to be secure from the people behind this whole thing. Anything he wants to say- It's either got to be coded or done in person. So he changes track entirely]

The rest of you? I wouldn't mind hearing about what you do for fun around here, or just about anything else about this place you can tell me. [Because you never put everything on the travel brochure for tourists, and he wants to know everything the higher ups aren't telling him. Everything that's only figured out with first hand experience and time.

A beat
] You know what? Why don't my new roommates check in too.

07 January 2013 @ 08:24 pm
[She's not overly fond of this thing, but it's got it's uses, and Ygritte is growing all the more bored here. Though there's still places to explore, things to do. She wants to know more about this place though. She's still undecided on the plight. On one hand, a rebel cause is one that burns within her. On the other, no one tells her what to do.]

I can't stay in this place f'much longer like this. I need somethin' to do, t'work with my hands. None o' this Initiative stuff though. I choose m'own sides and who I'm goin' t'follow.

I don't know m'own letters though. Not somethin' you learn above the Wall. But I've skinned any animal, built shelter, fought before-- [She huffs. Without Jon, without her people, she grows bored. And really it's safer for Arthur everyone if she can busy herself.]

Just need somethin' t'do.

29 December 2012 @ 05:53 pm
[ The feed opens up to a dusky and large, but mostly empty room. For anyone who may be familiar, it's the interior of a synagogue. It doesn't look like it's been maintained or that there have been services in here for months on end, as evident by the heavy amounts of dust and dirt that have settled onto everything. The windows are cracked and occasionally you can hear the distant whistling of the wind coming through and the pitter-patter of the rain against the glass. ]

Hanukkah's been over for a long time, but I wanted to come see what synagogues the city might have. This is the largest one, though from what I hear nobody comes here anymore. Occasionally it's a shelter and that's about it. [ A pause and the video switches off after not too long. ] It must have been something to see in its better days.

One of the merchants was kind enough to weld me a menorah. It's not the most fancy, but it's a good one. I don't know how the calendar here runs with holidays like that, though it wouldn't have felt right to not light one. [ Even away from home and all. ]

Anyway, I wasn't expecting anything... so for those who did, thanks for the drinks and the little snowman. It was a nice surprise. [ She'll let it slide that a couple of you somehow sneaked into the room. Besides, she becomes distracted just as she's about to disconnect. ] Huh.

27 December 2012 @ 09:07 pm
[A green young woman appears on the screen, smiling happily a few feet away from the tablet that seems to be floating. It looks like she's in the kitchen of one of the apartments, ingredients and bowls on the counter.]

I know it's a couple days late, but I'm baking some holiday cookies if anybody would like some. I promise they're pretty good. Well, if you enjoyed the ones at the masquerade, you'll like these, too! There's gingerbread, chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, sugar...

[She glances at the counter and laughs sheepishly.] I may have gone a little overboard, but that's okay. The more, the merrier! ... sort of.

Um, yes, if you'd like some, let me know! You can drop by Unit 107 or I can bring some to you tomorrow, whichever's easier. Or, if you know someone who you'd like to have some, I can do that, too. I promise I'll keep your name a secret.

[The talking stops as she turns from the camera to retrieve some from the oven by telekinetically opening the oven door. The cookie sheet floats out, landing on the counter nearby before she turns back.]

I'll take requests if I'm able. Please don't be shy about any of this, it's something I really enjoy doing. My name's M'gann, by the way. I hope to hear from some of you. [And with a wave, the camera's shut off.]

18 November 2012 @ 04:45 pm
[ He frowns once before speaking, running a hand through his hair. ]

Does anyone know of a good place to get a haircut, or else know how to do so well [ "well" being the operative word ] themselves? The price isn't an issue. [ any cost for beauty etc. ] Thank you.

[ He expects glowing recommendations okay. Or if you know how and are offering LISTS OF REFERENCES....nah probably not. Maybe.

But in any case, his hair's getting on the long side these days, even for him, bangs becoming an annoyance at his eyes; so it's about time he gets that fixed up. He'd just like to be sure before actually letting someone at his hair with a pair of scissors, even if he isn't Sternbild-famous here.]

17 November 2012 @ 06:40 pm
[She's very straight to business here. Not even a smile. Just, direct and serious. She's also obviously annoyed and upset about something.] Who can teach me how to encrypt things? Thanks in advance.

[Private to Sylar | Audio]

What are you doing?

((OOC: This post will be updated later. :3))

Mood: cranky

15 November 2012 @ 04:22 pm
[ This is kind of a long-shot but seeing as Wolf's never gone off on his own for more than a night or two at a time, it's probably best to check the network first before going out to look for him one more time ]

Anyone seen a white wolf around lately? He answers to 'Wolf'.

09 November 2012 @ 10:24 am
It's time we get organized.

If in your universe you had any dealings with SHIELD or its affliliates. Please contact me.

That last mission was a cluster. If we're going to survive here, we should stick together.

I look foreward to your responses.

Stark that means you.

(OOC: So, basically, Phil's tired of the crap and is trying to get the Marvel peeps together. All of them not just MCU so. Lets do this!)

06 November 2012 @ 08:18 pm
Judging from some of the chatter on the Network, those monsters weren't anything some hadn't ever seen before. I gotta admit when I heard about them I was thinking more along the lines of Killer Croc myself, not-- [ a thoughtful pause. ] I'm not sure what it was supposed to be.

[ And there's another quick pause. ]

Alternate worlds are another thing people may be used to here, am I right? Those Initiative guys didn't mention it, but it was printed in that guide... Anyway, doesn't hurt to ask if anyone here might be familiar with Gotham City. [ Because she needs to know just how many variations are out there. Damn multiverse. ]

Or from Gotham. You get it.

02 November 2012 @ 08:09 am
Well, that was something of an adventure! Between the Russians, the newest arrivals, and our monstrous friends, why there's been quite a few things to keep track of. An awful lot of people. One of which in particular I seem to have misplaced... I don't suppose anyone has seen Bela lately? Bela Talbot?

[ A pause, as if he's actually listening for a reply. Or maybe just asking a completely rhetorical question and taking a moment to gather himself afterward. ]

Well, it was always difficult to keep her in just one place. Not like Sierra, Annalise, and Adamo, three natives caught by the UE bombs, near a month ago now. I would say they were entirely too — too stationary. That old woman in the market, too— with the jerky stand? She always claimed it was dog meat, but I really had to wonder. But she always had a kind word for anyone who stopped to chat, didn't she? I found a bit of her stand some time ago, but no sign of her. Maggie, she told me her name was...

My apologies, to anyone who knew any of those caught in disaster. At least we've managed to turn this latest one back to the status quo, mm? We have that much.

[ Another pause, and this one comes with a slow breath out. So... that's awkward. But! He can make it better. When he speaks again, he sounds just as cheerful as he had at the beginning. ]

You know, for all their flukes and faults, I would say there's one thing the Initiative is truly bad at. They can throw our lot into a room with food set out, but that's not any sort of party. So I propose we arrange one ourselves! We've the musicians for it, don't we? The cooks, surely! The tailors, seamstresses? We certainly have the headcount for it, by now!

Any opinions, mm? I'm thinking, perhaps, a masquerade. A ball! We kitrites excel at the organization of them, you know. I would be pleased to offer my services to a properly interested crowd! Have I any takers?

01 November 2012 @ 12:01 pm
[For someone yanked from her home only a week ago, M'gann appears awfully calm on the feed. In fact, as she walks through the Hold, netbook floating in front of her, she can't help but seem a little underwhelmed. Transports viewing the video can see her in all of her green glory as she quietly explores the Hold, footsteps barely making noise.

Finally, somewhere between the classrooms and library, the martian stops and looks to the camera, curiosity getting the better of her.]

I understand what the library's for, but are the classrooms ever used? I haven't heard anything about sessions or studying since I arrived. [She pauses, considering something.] Did I just come at a bad time? The creatures only just left, after all.

[Waiting a few moments, something hits her. Well, it's more of a delayed realization.]

In any case, would someone please direct me to the nearest place to eat? It's almost lunch, and I missed breakfast...

((ooc; open to action, and maybe a breakfast buddy 8D))

[ It really can’t be that hard to use this tablet, you unfold it, press a few buttons, enable some options—bam. I bet Nightwing would love getting his hands on something like this. It takes Conner less than a minute to figure out which button enables what during which time he talks to himself at first: ]

I can’t be the only one here. And why would she thank me? I don’t like this.

[ Then he realizes it’s recording (whoops). He clears his throat. In any case— ]

... M’gann? [ Wait. She's the last person he should be trying to get a hold of. ] Nightwing? Can you hear this?

If you can hear this, I think it’s important that we group up and figure out what exactly’s going on around here.

[ They’ll know it’s him by his voice he’s sure. And hey - if they don't pick up on his transmission then someone else likely will. ]

[for a moment Castor experiments with the tablet, trying to get it to work. once he gets the little confirmation sound, he looks at himself through it and then sets it on a table across from him. he sits with his hands folded on his lap, perhaps maybe a little unsure how to begin. this is all a little too much to take in]

Ah... [give him a moment. his gaze lifts up to the tablet and he pauses before chewing on his bottom lip] Forgive me, I am a little at a loss of how to take in this.. situation. [it's baby's first war after all!]

I hope I... can be of some use here. [there's a slight uncertainty in his voice and maybe a tad smidgen of a tremble but he swallows down his nervousness and looks to the feed again, cracking a small smile]

M-My name is Castor, it is a pleasure to meet you all. I will do my best to aid in the fight here. If there is anything I can do, please feel free to use me how you'd like.

26 October 2012 @ 07:43 am
[Minato has been here for all of three hours now, wandering about the safe part of the hold, quietly trying to piece together the information he'd gotten from that first tour. It had been mostly rushed, but he had managed to get an idea of where he was and what was going on. Both of these things were decidedly not good news.]

[He figures he'd better get to helping out with the monsters, wherever they were, but first, he wanted to try to get other takes on the situation, see where he'd be best off, maybe get someone to fight with. Or maybe just wait it out.]

[Nonetheless, have a blue-haired kid on the feed, looking far calmer than any normal teen in this situation has any right to be.]

Can't say I know entirely what's going on here, but I've been told enough. I'm guessing I'm the reinforcements.

So, what should I do and where should I go?

[Straight down to business. It might be a better idea for him to rest up a bit first, but getting right into the action meant that he didn't have to brood on everything and everyone he just lost by being taken away from home.]
