[ This is kind of a long-shot but seeing as Wolf's never gone off on his own for more than a night or two at a time, it's probably best to check the network first before going out to look for him one more time ]

Anyone seen a white wolf around lately? He answers to 'Wolf'.

[ Long time no see, Exsilium. The feed is dimly lit, but it's clear that Scott's standing outside, the dark silhouette of a treeline behind him. The sound's picking up a bit of static from a breeze. ]

Hey, it's Scott - I guess I should ask if people usually come back. When they leave, I mean.

[ That's actually the reason he was making this video, but he barely addresses it, because something's distracting him. ]

Because I did. Leave and come back. Which I guess is... something, but more importantly, does anyone know what the hell the "Fun Cafe" is?

[ There's a pause as he turns the video away from his face, swinging it around to face a creepy ass building on the side of the road, barely visible in the evening light. He holds the video there for a few seconds, then it's back to his slightly wary, slightly amused face. ]

... and does anybody want to find out?

[When the feed clicks on, it broadcasts the voice of a teenage girl. One that's cold, angry, and deliberate, and becomes progressively louder as time goes on.]

I don't care. I won't do it. I won't-- [She cuts off, maybe as if she's changing her mind about whatever she's trying to do.

If there were to be any addition to that last thought, though, it's going to forever remain a mystery. After that small blip of words, there's nothing but silence over the feed. At least, nothing until...--

WHAM!

For the inhabitants of 901? Yes, that was the sound of a tablet being thrown against a bedroom wall.

You're welcome.]

[[OOC: Open both over the network and action for roommates! Responses will be somewhat ICly delayed :')]]

I don't know about you guys but i'm feeling a lot less faith in these initiative freaks than i had a month ago. we really are fighting a losing battle- whats worse, we don't have a choice.

assholes

anyway i guess there's a new wave of recruits. hi, im isaac, welcome to exsilium, have fun fighting for someone else's cause that you don't give a shit about.

ps if anyone still wants to train at the dojo, im game. this goes for you new guys too. you've got to get used to the new weps somehow right??

[Filtered to Collette and Erica || Hackable]

hey i'm sorry i haven't been around much lately. that whole underground/war/mutants thing really threw me for a loop, i guess. anyway, things should be back on track now that i've got stuff sorted out.

[aka now that he and scott are back to being somewhat-allies again for the fourth time]

So, what with how, uh, dreary it's been around here -- assuming that it's actually any drearier than usual, I guess -- I thought we could maybe use some lightening up. And what with Halloween approaching, I think a celebration of quality cinema is in order. [ He says "Halloween" as though it is actually slightly painful to refer to the date by that name. ] I took the liberty of delving into the Initiative's archives for these classics, and they're all on a shelf in the front of the library now, if anyone is interested.

[ He turns the camera to display the shelf in question. It is full of VHS tapes, bearing such titles as Dawn of the Dead (1978), Dracula 2000, Howling V, Sometimes They Come Back... Again, and Tales from the Crypt Presents: Bordello of Blood. None of the films were released later than the year 2000, they all seem to feature supernatural creatures prominently, and most of them are, frankly, pretty awful. ]

I'm not... exactly familiar with all of them. [ He holds up a copy of 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Kristy Swanson. ] I mean, this looks a lot like Muffy the Werewolf Slayer? I'm not uh... sure if it's the same thing?

Anyway. You're welcome, Exsilium.

The way I see it-

[Isaac is in one of the training areas- he's dressed in loose clothing, slightly sweat-damp, and with that cocky, arrogant little grin on his face. Just behind him, slightly obscured by the camera angle, is one of those hefty training dummies, and it's now in absolute tatters, worn down at the chest and head area and generally ripped to shreds.]

This 'training' is a joke. If we're going to be fighting real people out there, we need to be fighting real people in here. So.

[He tilts his chin upward, utterly confident in himself.]

Someone come spar with me.

[Nick's looking much cleaner and neater than he had in his last entry, but he doesn't look to be in any better of a mood, and the bottle of scotch on the table next to him is half-empty]

How the fuck can there not be any casinos in this place? Or 'houses of ill-repute.' Given that we're supposed to be, like, a thousand years in the future, this place is pretty damn disappointing.

I have yet to see one flying care anywhere. There's also no robot butlers, no hot robot chicks, no weird-looking alien kids who like reese's pieces... there aren't even any 'damn, dirty apes.' And instead of living on some cool space station on Mars, we're stuck in Assholeshire, England, digging through post-apolocyptic rubble. There isn't even a god-damned McDonald's.

[He suddenly leans forward, his face taking up the entire screen.]

So if whoever's in charge happens to be watching this, I've got just one thing to say:

I want a fucking refund.

Mood: pissed off

[Derek doesn’t have any trouble figuring out how the netbook works. He’s never been particularly tech savvy, but its features where simple enough to figure out after a few minutes playing with it. He sets it to voice and begins speaking with a false calm tone, anger and irritation clearly at war despite his efforts to disguise it.]

I’ve gotten the whole welcoming spiel. I know what we’ve been brought here to do. What hasn’t been explained to me is why I should care. I have my own problems to deal with back home. I’m not looking to fight someone else’s battle.

[With that said, he sets the netbook down on the desk in front of him expectantly. He's only mildly curious to know how people will respond, but this is the best and fastest way to get the answers he seeks.]

I really dislike this machine...

[ It's heard as he's trying to figure out how to work it, before he finally focuses the lenses. He then moves back, and takes a seat. ]

Yes, now. I have a question for all of you, and it's... rather important.

[ He then holds up a drawn image of this symbol. ]

Have any of you seen any creatures bearing this symbol? Or any black, ink-like creatures with bright, yellow eyes? I need to know if you have. Because if you haven't, it confirms my theory about this world, from everything I've learned over the last few weeks.

Well, it's not much, but at least there's some direction. And it gets you away from the things going down in your... world for awhile.

[Yeah, the whole 'world' thing is a pretty new concept. Not quite sure how he feels about that one.

And really, not that he's generally one to look on the bright side- but where Isaac comes from, getting away from his world means getting away from the 99% of the population that seemed to want to kill him at any given moment. And with the added bonus of the whole missing-slash-fugitive status gone? It's enough to at least give this place the benefit of a doubt.]

So I got the official story- what's it actually like here?

[Simple, a little bit demanding.]

Anyone?
