[The video starts up and you get a blonde with an upticked mouth looking at you.]

So everyone got these new tablets, but teaching us how to use them was just one step they weren't willing to take. I figure I could step in here and offer to teach the basics to anyone who was having a problem using theirs.

I'll be at the *insert random place here idk* for most of today, so if anyone wants to stop by for a lesson, I'll be there. [Grins a little wiser] I hope ya'll are good, attentive students so I don't regret this later.

It seems that not many of us were badly hurt by the attack, so that is good.

The question is, what are we doing to retaliate? We must make this United Earth frightened enough of us to never even THINK of daring to attack us so again. And if we cannot, we need to do more of this time travel nonsense until we can. Strike while the iron is hot, as I believe the saying goes.

Oh, sure. The one time I take off the damn mask, that's when they decide to pull me back here. That's just fantastic.

[Tali's voice is a touch nasally as she waves a three-fingered hand at her omni-tool. It looks like she's recording from bed; the quarian is all bundled up in blankets. Someone caught a cold after coming back from her canon update~] So, hey. I'm back, for better or worse. Mostly worse. Did I miss anything while I was gone? Keelah, it feels like it's been ages. So much has--

[Achoo! She cuts herself off with a sneeze, after which she groans irritably. Stupid immune system. >:(]

...Also, does anyone know where I can get some antibiotics? Or just some plain old cold medicine? Dextro-friendly, of course.

[Despite recent events Eiki seems perfectly at home, she's not stressed, or particularly worried. It was almost as if everything going on simply did not affect her.]

In light of recent tragedy, I became curious about some things. There is a lot of diversity here, with people from all over, from worlds so different it would be hard to imagine, and I assume rules and universal laws that are also different. So considering this, I would like to know about the afterlife of other worlds. I understand it is rare for those living to know the system for the dead, but even if all you know is mythology and legend I would still like to hear it. In exchange I will share everything I can of my world.

You know, there's really nothing like spending time in caves to make you appreciate the great, unenclosed outdoors. [ though the scenery leaves something to be desired. ace misses the sea like burning.

buuut that's not actually why he spent time figuring out this new holographic, folding tablet thing. (look, it's a pain in the ass for someone who's used to communicating via snails. i'm not kidding.) he clears his throat a little awkwardly. ]

Ah, I know everyone's still rebuilding, but... Does anyone know if there's any place around here where a guy can get a tattoo? Or are there any artists on this thing? Thanks.

I've been curious about something lately. How does magic work in other worlds?

[ A somewhat ironic question, coming from him. In his 'universe,' he supposed, it was fairly universal. But from what he's seen lately... it's slightly more complicated than that. And he's curious if he can learn other spells besides the ones he already knows. ]

[ He had managed to repair his appearance now that they were able to get out of the catacombs. But it was easy to tell that he was still not at his full strength - skin pale, healing bruises and scrapes visible on exposed skin, and hands tightly bandaged almost mummy-like.

He had found an unbroken bottle of whiskey and had poured himself a drink before turning the new netbook on. ]

And so they give us a new toy and a better lock on the new toy. How generous.

[ His deadpan words are accompanied by a slight twist to his lips, and a narrowing of his eyes. He is not in a good mood. ]

I would have rather have received a new piano than this.

I preferred the old books better. [This thing is being folded every which way, because they just had to make this thing harder to use.] At least you knew where you stood with them. The old books never changed; they might never have been easy to use, but they you knew what you were supposed to do with them.

[Is he talking about the book, still? Maybe, maybe not.] With all this talk of the Initiative and the United Earth issues, there's been something that's come up several times. Something I would be worried about, and so should others.

Traitors. Those who turned away from the goal right when their colleagues needed them most. Or the ones who never came to help in the first place, though they said they would. Traitors also includes liars. Yes. Liars. The ones who never tell the truth, especially when the truth could be the information you needed the most.

[He's getting exasperated with this new book.] I wonder, how did everyone else treat liars back home? In Ferelden, we had several ways of punishing those that had committed crimes against the crown, or those who'd lied and were caught. Some of them seemed rather harsh, but if someone who steals loses a finger, why not have the liar lose something as well? Something they value, something close to them, so that they can be hurt as much as they have hurt those around them.

So, how should we treat those liars, here? If we find traitors, what do we do with them? A mock execution, whipping, leaving them bound and gagged in a small room? Killing them would just be too merciful for what they've done, wouldn't it? [He pauses.]

Andraste's foul breath, this new book is more difficult then the other! [Okay, he's done with this book thing. With a yell, he throws it across the room.]

[Someone looks totally wrecked] Has anyone seen Al - has anyone seen Shepard? Or - or Tali. [Rubbing a hand over his face] They've been missing too long now. I know - I know there are a lot of newcomers here, so if anyone's see a tall female soldier, brown hair, probably in armour, could you let me know? Uh, please? I'm also looking for a female Quarian - alien, that is. She wears a full body suit with a helmet, purple accents, never takes it off.

If anyone has information and could let me know, that would be fantastic. Thank you.

[The man in the video is sitting on the ground, leaning against a wall in the catacombs. There are voices in the background, sounds of people gathering their belongings to move back to the world above. He doesn't have much with him, just the notebook and the blanket he's sitting on, since his knife is safely hidden in his belt behind his back. His bare, tattooed arms are covered in cuts and rope-burns, but since it's been over a day now, he's cleaned off the blood as best he could given the circumstances. They are slowly beginning to heal, and in the process have gone from stinging mostly to itching uncomfortably, so that every now and then, he reaches over and briefly rubs the skin next to one of them, to distract himself from the sensation.]

[But for now, his attention's focused on the notebook, as he's trying to figure out the severely outdated, by his world's standards technology.]

Since it looks like we're finally getting a break... My name's Daniel Zhu, I only arrived here a while ago. Anybody mind filling me in what's going on here? I got the basics. Now I'm still waiting for the explanations.

[Oh, yeah. He has figured it out enough to attach a fake name, corresponding his story, to the post. Operative and all.]
