[Guess who's back from wandering off randomly to shoot fire at abandoned buildings? Also, guess who's sick? Also, guess who isn't going to the hospital? The answer to all three is this girl.]

The other day, I had some mildly bad things to say about United Earth's lack of appreciation for a fair fight. Learning now that they wage war using plagues, I may have been too fast to judge their character.

[Painful, hacking cough.]

I'm convinced now. I'll do anything that is in my power to help the Initiative fight them.

Hello, fellow Transports! I know we're in a bit of a pinch right now what with this super-virus mutating and infecting some of the population, but if you have a minute I've got some questions I'd appreciate some answers to. Some of them may help either now, if we're going to be trying to treat this virus at all, or in the future should anything like this happen again.

What's your name?
Age?
Place of origin? Planet, country, and city of origin would be the most helpful.
Species? If you're anything other than a baseline human, does your biology differ in any notable ways?
What occupation did you have in your world of origin? "Student" and "unemployed" are perfectly valid answers.
Do you have any prior experience with war?
Time travel?
Alternate universes?
Technology at the level the Initiative is operating with?
Do you have any background in medicine?
What about the STEM fields? For anyone who doesn't know, that would be Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
What kind of weapon did you choose upon entrance to Exsilium? If it has a special function, feel free to include that at your discretion.
Have you made use of the Initiative's training areas outside of mandatory training hours?
If you answered no to the above, why not?
What is your opinion on the Initiative and their missions?

Feel free to skip any questions you feel are too intrusive, or encrypt things if you would like to answer but would rather not answer to the whole network. Similarly, if you would like to answer but don't trust the Initiative's technology, I can currently be found in the library (the one not in the Hold) and would love to either talk face to face or take answers written elsewhere. Look for the blonde in the Metropolis University sweatshirt. Any and all private communication will be kept completely confidential and is only to satisfy my own curiosity. Thank you in advance for any answers!

And, out of the interest of fairness, I'll give you my own answers to this little survey.

cut because holy wow this is getting long )

[ ooc | here, have a textbox with the survey in it to make filling it out easier! ]

[One day around the start of June, Mokou wanders out of the city, into the ruins beyond. She's feeling restless, and would rather blow off steam further away from crowded areas. She won't be back for a few days.]

[So, if you find yourself out in the right part of the outlands, you will be treated to a spectacular fireworks show! It's Mokou, doing the spell card equivalent of shadow boxing. Increasingly intricate waves of fire launched upwards at the empty air, thousands of raindrops evaporating into clouds of steam amidst the display. She's not really doing this for practice, though - if she was, she'd need a real opponent for any of this to serve a decent purpose. No, this directionless onslaught is nothing more or less than an expression of emotion.]

[Each time she pushes herself past her limits, Mokou drops back to the ground or rooftops to rest for a moment. Each time, she looks more tired, but also more unsatisfied.]

[How pathetic I've become, she thinks. There was a time when I could pass a hundred years without feeling anything. Have I already fallen so far that this is enough to bring back the old loneliness?]

[It doesn't help anything, or even make her feel better, but doing something feels better than doing nothing, even if it's something pointless. She'll probably have gotten it out of her system for now by the time she returns to civilization.]

[Total deaths: Eight during the big battle, two during the pursuit of Adam, for an even ten overall. Enough to tire a girl out, certainly, so Mokou's taking the day off to rest. Physically fine, of course, but still feeling a bit drained.]

I'm going to have to get used to the kind of fighting that's developed since I was last in the outside world. All that new weaponry and technology is making anything I can do seem thoroughly old-fashioned.

If nothing else, it's making me better understand the motivations behind the rules of conflict where I'm from. If you let anyone attack in any way they wish, then soon enough there's not much artistry to it at all; whoever can slaughter their enemies the fastest and the most efficiently is the winner.

It's all a bit grim, but I suppose I wasn't brought here for a pleasant vacation.

[Adam's not one to display his feeling openly on the network. Mostly because his last communication device did that for him a lot and without him knowing it. While he wasn't for anonymous messages all the time, it was pretty refreshing to just be faceless and not worry what everyone thinks.

And yet there's one that pops up around two in the morning. Same as last time but oh well.]

Have you found yourself hoping that someone from home shows up? Or if you were in a different place before arriving, someone from there will come and remember you?

[Thoughts of an old fart ranger. Pretty deep stuff.]

[A few days in the new city. Lots of bad weather, but she's probably getting used to it. Finally heading in to check out this apartment she supposedly has, because being in the rain all day is annoying enough to eventually beat out her ennui. So, knock knock, Junko.]

[Aside from that, Mokou is on edge. She didn't expect to be on edge, certainly not this quickly. But a certain fact is nagging at the back of her brain.]

[She isn't here.]

[Some part of her feebly tries to argue that she should be happy to be rid of such a despicable foe, but she knows it's futile. She's alone again. Another thousand years of solitude loom... or do they? Could she still be waiting out in the world somewhere? Could there be others of her kind here? Can she be replaced, given enough time?]

[Too many questions, not enough answers. What Mokou needs right now is something to get her mind to stop running in circles for a while.]

I want to work.

Call it pride if you want, but coming here and being handed a home doesn't sit well with me. If I'm going to be living here for a while yet, then I want to be giving something back. I don't like being a freeloader.

What is there that needs doing? I'm a complete beginner when it comes to technology, but anything else I should be able to pick up without complaints.

[Unlike many technologically-disinclined people, Mokou actually sits down and goes all the way through the tablet tutorial before trying to use it. She is nothing if not patient.]

[Accordingly, when she starts up the video, she's carefully looking correctly into the camera, although at least at first her speech is a bit more formal than normal. New things are strange.]

Hello. My name is Mokou, and I'm quite a long way from home, although I believe that's true for a lot of you.

If you are, as you say, in the business of heping innocent people live more comfortably, then I don't mind helping however I can. For now, I might need some time to get used to the change of scenery.

[[JUNKO: You and Mokou appear to be roommates, but it'll be a few days yet before she shows up. She's gonna be living like a hobo for a while first, because it's what she does.]]
