[Good evening, Exsilium! Sheryl may have been stuck in this dystopian city for approximately two months now, but it's the first time she's officially made a network feed for the masses. And what better way to show off the device's capabilities by doing what she does best?

There's a soft intake of breath, slow and steady, then she begins with a calm, dulcet rendition of "Aimo". The song is relatively short and peaceful, but her voice retains all the intensity and passion, enough to show that it's sung by a woman with well-trained vocal chords.]

Aimo aimo... )

[Shortly, the feed switches to video, revealing a pink-haired woman lying down on her stomach in bed, all smiles as she swings her feet back and forth from behind, also propping her chin in the palm of her left hand.]

To tell you the truth, this isn't really my song. I heard it once back when I was trapped as a child in here and at that time, a young girl with a kind heart sung it to me. I didn't realize it then, but that girl would someday become my best friend.

[She pauses, tucking her pink strands behind her ear with her free hand, then grins.]

Ranka, I don't think you ever told me about that song before! I'm interested in hearing about its origins. And as for the rest of you—

[Her grin soon morphs into a confident smirk as she pokes at the camera. Guess what? The singer has something planned in her sleeve, judging from the slight glimmer in her blue eyes.]

Tomorrow, I'll be making pot-au-feu, a delicious French stew which I expect everyone to try at least once. You'll be missing out if you don't, so I won't take no for an answer. Consider this an invitation from Sheryl Nome.

Happy New Year, according to the calendar in use in Exsilium. May the next year bring glad tidings.

To anyone interested in learning basic self defense, I've spoken with Police Commissioner Sorenstam and will be starting classes through the station for any willing to attend. It's open to everyone, which means rubbing elbows with the exiles who live here, and provided cost free.

Classes will be running Mondays and Wednesdays at 0800, 1000, and 1600, starting the 21st.

[Fang's up...somewhere pretty high, up on the rooftop of a building. Looks like she's pulling a Batman and getting her brood on. She is in heavier, drabber clothing than usual (to her displeasure), save the scarf around her neck, which looks a fair bit more elaborate. Her spear is propped up nearby.

It almost seems as if she doesn't know she's being recorded, but then she speaks up:]

'Round this time of year, in Oerba — that's where I'm from — there would be big hunting parties. A last little bit of celebration before the chill and the frost set in from the mountains nearby. Suppose that'd be my version of this "Krissmiss" thing you lot have been going on about.

[She picks up the spear and stands to her feet. Stretches her free arm over her head.] When things started to go south, with the war and all...

[Another bout of stretching...] ...we couldn't do that no more. Not enough groups to go hunting, you see, and the land wasn't safe. The animals scattered. I figure they were smarter than we were. That's not much of a holiday story though, is it? Guess I'm in a reminiscing mood. But I was wondering: is there anything to hunt around here? Anything safe to eat? A spar'll only go so far.

[She tilts her head.] Have any of you ever hunted for your own food? There's gotta be someone around here who's not like... [Cocoon people. She waves a hand.]

Point is, I'm starting to go stir-crazy. Even Cocoon had some nature, here and there.

OKAY, SO. WHAT KIND OF CRAP MAKES AN ACCEPTABLE GIFT FOR HUMAN TWELFTH PERIGEE? IS IT ANY KIND OF CLOTHING ITEM OR ONLY COLD WEATHER ITEMS, OR IS THERE ANY RULE FOR WHAT YOU GIVE BACK BASED ON WHAT YOU WERE GIVEN?

ALSO, WHAT IS THE DEADLINE ON THIS THING. WHEN EXACTLY DOES THE HUMAN GIFTGIVING HOLIDAY END?

[A slightly pale and more-than-slightly displeased Ema greets the screen. It looks like she may have had one or two or three narrow escapes from undead.]

This is a really nice way to bring us in here... Oh, it's on already--? [she clears her throat and launches in with barely a preamable.]

I'm Detective Ema Skye... I have a question. So we've pretty much taken care of those... zombie-things now, right? [she ticks off on her fingers:] Also, we heard that animals were the disease vectors, and that something called "holy magic" [she wrinkles her nose at that] can cure them.

That's all well and good...But has anyone done a real forensic investigation? We could trace this back to the source, or at least figure out how it happened... [Her displeasure seems to melt away rather quickly.] It's all part of the power of science!

[There's a fresh face on the network today. Although she's never used anything like it before at home (this looks way too expensive for her mom to get her), Mei's had experience with computers and with operating mult-connected calls before. It's sort of like an XTransceiver in that sense.

Which is why she'll be greeting the feed with a wave and a smile, and looks hardly perturbed by the looming giant and intimidating green Serperior behind her. A Serperior that's quietly curious about this little device.]

Hey there! So I guess I'm considered a new Transport here, and if nobody minds, I've got a question or two that wasn't answered by our lovely guides.

First off... [Her smile fades a little bit. It's something that's been bugging her since arriving to the city, and as much as she's trying not to let herself get upset over it, it's hard not to worry.] ...has anyone else come with... without a couple things that they should be with? I know it's a bit hard to explain, but I'm missing some of team. I only came with Hibiscus here, and I'd reeeeeeeally like to know where the rest of my Pokemon went to since they were with me last time I checked...

And... [Perking up again with a little nervous laughter.] Sorry, I didn't mean to be so rude. My name's Mei and this is Hibiscus here! [She points back to the Serperior who merely nods in recognition.] I suppose if we're really stuck here, then a "it's nice to meet you all" is in order!
