Merry Belated Christmas, everyone!

I don't know a lot of you and you don't know me but I have this reaaally small favor to ask of you all!

Can you please, please, please greet or send this guy--

[ He shoves a picture of Tatsumi/[personal profile] occlusion to the screen. ]

a Happy Birthday greeting when you see him? He's a bit grumpy and we were supposed to throw him a nice big party in our division for him with cake and all... but considering our situations...

Anyway! All your help will go towards making his day extra special!

[ He snickers here. But then grins widely. ]

Thanks again~!

So, I just thought of something that might not be a bad way to go with things.

A while back, I was dinking around with ways we might expand the moon base by going underneath the surface. From what I found, that'd have required drilling, and then sealing it well enough to keep the air inside, freshened, and generally not trying to kill us. I had concepts for the second problem, but working designs for the first.

If anyone wanted to help me get the stuff together, I could build us a mole machine! That could have all kinds of cool uses. We could just go underground, expand bases, and, you know, find stuff!

Who's with me?!?

[ A good deal of you may not recognize this man: dark brown hair, blue eyes behind glasses staring soberly forward, and if you look for it, there are signs that the suit he's wearing hasn't been properly laundered for some time. He blinks before clearing his throat, then nods--at you, perhaps? ]

While we are on the subject of bringing order and usefulness here--

[ He pushes up those glasses. ]

As of today, I and my colleagues have started a freelance agency. To put it shortly, if you should need any service done--scientific research or development, bodyguard services, counseling, or cleaning, for example--any one of us will be able to assist you. For a negotiated fee, of course.

[ For the sake of a friendly appearance, he attempts a smile, though it seems a natural one. ]

I can guarantee that any task will be performed upon request for the right price.

[ The smile doesn't even fade as he again clears his throat. ]

Should anyone require our services, please contact me. My name is Seiichirou Tatsumi--Unit 141 in the East Wing, and you may contact me in any way you see fit. You may also contact Asato Tsuzuki, Yutaka Watari, or Hisoka Kurosaki--these three gentlemen and I will be happy to serve any way that we can.

setting: video

[ The video feed begins rather abruptly, and two men standing opposite each other at a dining table come into view. One man, dark-haired in a dark brown suit, has his back turned to the camera. The other, with long wavy blond hair tied back and wearing a lab coat, faces the camera at an angle. They both appear to be at a good distance from the screen--perhaps the tablet is on an end table somewhere? At any rate, neither are paying it any mind. Instead, they seem to be paying more attention to the cake on the table that they're flanking. ]

--on, Tatsumi, there's no need to hover over it like that!

We're not going to have another incident of you spiking food with another of your concoctions!

Come on, doncha' trust me? Even a little bit? Maybe? Hm?

No.

[ And you might notice that the shadows on the ground that are coming from the suited man are... moving independently. Before long, it looks like a black mass is beginning to hover over that cake. The brown-suited man takes a half-step back, as though surprised. ]

What th--

Ohhhhhh, I see how it is, Tatsumi. Good thing I came prepared!

[ The blond man has a very serious grimace on his face as he reaches into his lab coat and pulls out... a notepad, a pen shoved in through the spiral binding, which he then pulls out and clicks. Scribble, scribble, scratch, scribble, scratch. ]

Then we battle!

[ You might have to blink--suddenly, stick-figures appear on the table, wielding what looks like crude renderings of weapons. The stick-figures rush at the shadows. ]

Watari, really, this is wasting my--!

[ It's a good thing the shadows seem able to hold their own. ] )

[ Yes, that's right--two grown men are fighting over a birthday cake. ]

Aha!

[ Yutaka is seen standing on top of a messy bed, pillows and blankets strewn about, with 003 flapping heartily around him. In his hands- in his hands he has... two strands of hair. ]

Found them! Samples from Tsuzuki and Hisoka! Strands of hair! This is definitely their room so it's not Link's... right, 003?

Alright, all we need to do is input it onto Seer #5-- [ He jumps off the bed and picks a piece of round wood he'd left leaning against it. ] -- Hmm.

Maybe we should get you designed first? It's not like Tsuzuki and Hisoka are going to die anytime soon... maybe ... how about something outlandish? Feathers? Glowing eyes? Didn't we make Seer #4 like that? Something different then?

What do you think, 003?

Or should we ask Link? You think he might have some idea from his world? oh. I guess if we don't like his suggestion we can just totally ditch it anyway!

Let's name this project- "Project Make Seer #5 look GREAT before rescuing two Idiots!" Yay!

[ ooc; Was sick so couldn't get this post out earlier Tsuzuki got himself kidnapped trying to save Hisoka. He didn't tell Watari. :( So he's making something to find them! Also, since we're going to the moon, Watari's little plot can still happen there.... ]

[ When the video starts, Yutaka can be seen rummaging through the small pile of random parts he'd gathered in his time here in his stay here in Exsilium. ]

Not here!

003 - [ He turns to his pet owl flapping beside him ] It was here, right? Those things... it's... not like they could walk away on their own right?

Right?

[ He stands up then and crosses his arms. Then he hums to himself, in thought. ] I did have them walk away for a while when we started cleaning... It was a good experiment, at least! Perfectly functional legs on my lovely test-tubes! They made working in a cramped space really... functional!

[ Pause. And then he shrugs. ]

Oh well! It should be fine! It's not like they were terribly dangerous or anything. A little loss here and there always happens when you move things around! Nothing serious- nothing serious! It should be fine....!

[ The owl hoots... And if one could understand owl-speak, one could suppose that she almost sounds skeptical. And then at last, he notices the communications device... ]

And speak of the devil, it's been here all this time! Oh? Switched on?

[ There's a click and the video ends... ]

[ ooc; Mod approved tiny character plot, I suppose! Some vials Watari has been experimenting with, remnants of some concoction he had when he came to Exsilium have quite literally run off. courtesy of his special powers Details here! ♥ ]

Good people of Exsilium, I greet you all on this fine eve. I would inquire after the recommendation of a well and trusted smithy... One who can be trusted with a fine jewel as much as he can be trusted with a sword.

I must also wonder if any might know the location of a good hall worthy of banquets and all grand forms of entertainment. Only the size is a necessity... I am certain the rest can handle itself readily.

Should any procure any answers to these curiosities, I would be most grateful.

[After the evacuation, Tsuzuki and Watari had been fortunate enough to return to Anne and Hisoka with some antidote. Not that they managed to find it by themselves - in the end they had to barter for it. Luckily, combining a good deal of charm and bribery, they got what they needed.

Still, without Miss Anne keeping a watchful eye on Hisoka, Tsuzuki knew that he might have had to pick up pieces of his partner in the wreckage, and he was truly grateful that she had been there to help them. That was also partly why he had borrowed an apron and had taken the time out of his day to buy ingredients and to make a truly spectacular dinner. He hasn't gotten to experiment with food in ages, so he adds a dash of extra ingredients here and there and thoroughly enjoys himself, although the scent begins to turn.... strange. Warningly so. And that smell is slowly spreading in their tiny apartment.]

[He hums happily, playing with his tablet.]

Dinner's almost done! Hey guys, should we send a message to miss Anne?

I know this is a bit of a strange request, but... We kind of need a person to take care of our friend -- [A bright voice in the background interrupts Tsuzuki's feed, making him jump. "A babysitter!"]

Shhh Watari! He's going to be mad if he hears you. Anyway, he's sick and need someone to help look after him. Not long. Just until--

[An excited voice is heard in the background, once again. "Bon's a good kid! Just remember to let him rest and feed him three times a day. And don't feed him spicy food!"]

Yeah. He can't handle things like that. But anyway, if anyone can help us look after him for a day or two I'll try to pay you. Might take a while though.

Does anyone know where to get plants around here? In particular cherry saplings or seeds?

Also, a lab I can borrow would be very helpful! I promise to clean to clean up after and not leave any surprises

My payment for borrowing... would be my help in the form of an invention! Something to make your life easier! You have to tell me what you need, of course, and then let me borrow your lab again... to use for my invention, of course!

I'm looking for people who can build things. There is a broken down building I want to live in. It's in the outer part of the city. I'll transport you back and forth if it's an issue, and I have stuff I brought back from the last mission. Is that payment enough? Contact me if interested. I don't need to waste my time with idle conversation.

[OOC: For anyone who planned to do things, I'll have a log up! As for any action things at this place, the log'll be the best place to put it! Thanks!

EDIT:Log is up! Here!]

[After Watari and Hisoka appeared in town, Tsuzuki had been trying his best to find a way home. While it's great to have some friends in town, he's worried that they'll be hurt if they're forced to stay here.]

....I don't suppose there are any cherry trees around here? I haven't found any yet.

[He looked out the window, at the grey and decaying city. The city lacked in natural beauty. Perhaps he was being too optimistic.]

[His first post is voice.]

Say, to all you magic-users! I'm curious. How did you learn your art? I suppose this applies to anyone with an "unnatural" ability as well.

[The second is a text post under his name, posted an hour after the above.]

I have a puzzle for you, Exsilium. But that's not fun enough, is it? Let's make it a game! I'll pay the first three people who solve it 10... no, up to 50✥! The first one gets a special prize! Isn't that exciting? (⌒▽⌒)☆

[Attached to this post is this diagram.]

Now, here is the situation! There are three houses. Each house needs electricity, gas, and water. The goal is to connect the houses to their utilities by drawing lines. It's easy, right? Very easy!

But there's a catch! None of the lines can intersect. But even with the handicap, it's a simple puzzle. I'm sure you can all crack it in no time!

Respond with your answers. Be sure to lock them, so there won't be any cheating~ 1
will buy you a hint.

I look forward to rewarding the winner!!

[Emil still has a lot of doubts about putting himself out there to people he has little business getting involved with and just slightly fewer doubts about the device he's supposed to use, but after a startling run-in with some familiar faces he'd rather not think about again he's a little desperate for people who don't dredge up memories of the worst times of his life. Not to mention, he's still in need of information. So despite how technology tends to bewilder him, Emil sits down and plays with the device and reads instructions until he manages to set up a proper feed. The camera is a little off center and the angle is awkward, but hey - it works.]

Hi, everyone. My name is Emil Castagnier, and I need answers to some questions. First, does anybody recognize the names of Sylvarant or Tethe'alla? Because if so, we come from the same world.

[He's not sure if he should add the next part, but figures it's worth a look.]

Derris-Kharlan, too. I know there are some people from Sylvarant and Tethe'alla here, but I don't know how many.

And second...does anybody know more about the time travel that's done here, and the influences it has on this world? If anyone has more information about the weapons we're given here, I'd like that as well.

[ Squeak squeak squeak squeaksqueak squeak squeeeeeeak. ]

People just love having pets, don't they~? ♥

[ Xerxes Break is in the marketplace, broadcasting as he walks along. The picture is wobbling up and down with each step. People who tend towards motion sickness might wish to look away. ]

Unconditional adoration from a constant companion--

WHO DOESN'T CARE HOW PATHETIC YOU ARE!

[ This last outburst seems to have come from the blonde, blue-skinned, horribly-grinning doll on Break's shoulder. He chides her, waggling his finger: ]

Now, now Emily. One mustn't blurt out the truth like that, people don't like it. As I was saying, a pet is a maaaaaaarvelous thing, isn't it? Always with you, underfoot, getting in your way, knocking against your shins, and being utterly and completely...

[ Squeak squeak squeak squeak. ]

--ah, haha! Well anyway, it's worth it, all that bother, in exchange for the warm feelings you get, right? Alas, alack and well-a-day, I have no time for such things, so I thought perhaps I'd offer my pet up for adoption.

[ Now the camera angle tilts, to show off Break's "pet": it's a little red wagon, following him through the marketplace, moving entirely on its own accord. One of its wheels has a high-pitched, persistent, eardrum-drilling… squeak. ]

I can't give him away for free, of course, but I'm willing to entertain all reasonable offers. I simply want to see him in a gooooood home, that is to say--

[ SQUEAK! ]

--not mine!

[ This is Nash. He has a pleasant but lazy expression. ]

I don't like to live in the past. It makes me feel old. But when a thought eats at you, sometimes the only thing you can do is take a bite, right?

Anyway, a few weeks ago something the Initiative did put people in their wrong bodies. I don't mean to drudge up bad memories, but— think about it. What are we, really? Hands, feet, fingers, eyes?

We've all got bodies, but souls? [ He shakes his head. ] Not for me to say.

But if the Initiative can keep our fingers and toes and move the rest around, it means there has to be something else, right? And whatever that something else is, the Initiative can mess with it it.

[ The implications are spooky, so he takes a moment to be spooked. And then waves that all away, shrugging. ]

You ever stop to think, and not know how to start up again?

[ Anyone scrolling through the network will come across a video feed of this brunette preteen humming to herself as her eyes focus on the right side of the screen. After a moment, she sighs in frustration and rubs her face with both hands before speaking. ]

And I thought my teacher gave me a lot of homework. At least these people don't test us on all of this stuff.

......they don't, right? [ She huffs, muttering to herself. ] They better not. Anyway, is anyone else new to this world like I am?

i have some questions

1. how many people out there are musicians

2. would anyone be interested in playing in a band

3. is there even enough good instruments in this hellhole for us to form a real rock band

All i got is my acoustic guitar. I'd sell a kidney for a good working electric guitar and amp, but i can live with this. i can sing too, depending on the music. i don't write it b/c i'm shitty with lyrics and stuff but i know enough other songs it'll make your head spin. i'm the king of cover songs. but if the instruments are out there and you're interested get back to me. my name's johnny. idk it might be a stupid idea but i'm bored here a lot and didn't really know any other musicians back home so it might be cool to chill with some here. collaborate. stuff like that. we might even be able to get some gigs around town. i play at Nora Cafe and a few other places if you're interested in hearing what i can do, first.

but yeah get back to me i guess

---

[This is a thing he's strangely insecure asking about. Don't mind him. But, if you do want to come hear him play, and talk in person rather than text him back? Stop by the NORA cafe or one of the bars in town some night when he's playing. He's actually pretty good! He's a fiercely fast player, and his voice is best suited to the hard rock and punk covers he sings - low and gravelly. Once he's done his set, he stops to grab a drink. Care to join?]

[Bolin's sitting on the floor in the living area, with his back against the couch and Pabu curled up on his head. He's spent most of the past five days exploring his new home (and training, and hanging out with Korra and Asami as much as he can). But a guy's gotta give his muscles some time to rest and so he figures he might as well play around with the strange little gizmo they gave him. (Evidently he's supposed to be able to talk to people through it -- like a mini radio or something.)

He pokes hesitantly at the screen and gasps in surprise when it changes. It takes him a long time to find the tutorial, and even longer to make his way through it. Reading is hard enough for him even when he doesn't have to figure out what strange words like "video" mean.

In the end, it doesn't help him that much. All he really gets out of it is you can leave messages for everybody who has one of these weird devices to see, and these messages can either be in written words, recordings of your voice, or a kind of moving picture with sound. He decides to just poke around the device and see if he can figure out how to make a moving picture post for himself -- it sounds pretty cool.

Ten minutes later --]

[ video ]
[The feed flicks on and Bolin lights up.]

Hey! I think I finally figured it out! [He leans closer to the device, and Pabu jumps off his head indignantly to go doze on the couch.] Hello in there! Can anybody hear me?

[His thumb slips, accidentally switching it to audio.]

[ audio ]
Wait, what did I just do?

Oh, there you go! Video function is a go! hoot!

[ Just then a blond young man and his fluffy owl friend appears on screen. Watari is making a V-sign! ]

Yutaka Watari and 003 reporting!

Let's see: We're your new Transports! We're looking forward to working with each and every one of you! My past time is Experimenting! And my favorite color is Red!

Also, I hope your labs aren't as bad as things look outside right now...

Oh, and, I don't really plan to stay here very long but let's make our time together fun!

So... anyone working at a lab here? You've got those, don't you? What about research on the time travel they're trying to use?

Details, please!
