Mitsuru Kirijo

[As the feed powers on, a woman can be see watching the device. Once it becomes apparent that it's working as it should, a smile crosses her face. How nice that technology here works so smoothly!]

Ah, it seems this device operates quite easily. Très bien!

[Now that this is working, onto more important matters. Mitsuru's face becomes more serious, though still retaining a certain calmness about it.]

Greetings to those of you on the receiving end of this transmission. My name is Mitsuru Kirijo. As you may have gathered, I've only recently arrived in Exsilium.

[A pause comes from her end. The seriousness shifts into discomfort, accompanied with a small frown.]

I must admit, the bleakness of this city is something I am unaccustomed to. The rain when combined with the very atmosphere of the city is almost... suffocating. Are these conditions merely the result of war or are there other influences involved?

[Like plain and simple poverty? Being a rich kid makes you almost oblivious to the fact that not everyone lives the same life style as you do. The seriousness then quickly returns full force.]

On the topic of this war, is there documentation available of all the major battles, missions and other pertinent occurrences? Diving headfirst into an alliance with the Initiative while lacking valuable information might only be deemed foolish.

[Oh! That reminds her of one more foolish thing, namely using a weapon without knowing how it works!]

Ah, one final matter. When I had picked up this lipstick, I had not realized it would come to serve as a weapon. How does one go about using lipstick as a combat device? [She then speaks softer, as though mumbling to herself.] Throwing it would be most obvious but highly impractical, only permitting for a single shot...

[She contemplates the matter of the odd weapon and its uses a moment longer before giving up for now. All attention turns back to the tablet.]

Anyone who might answer any of the above inquires has my deepest gratitude. Thank you.

WHO WEARS SHORT SKORTS?

Hello, fellow Transports! I know we're in a bit of a pinch right now what with this super-virus mutating and infecting some of the population, but if you have a minute I've got some questions I'd appreciate some answers to. Some of them may help either now, if we're going to be trying to treat this virus at all, or in the future should anything like this happen again.

What's your name?
Age?
Place of origin? Planet, country, and city of origin would be the most helpful.
Species? If you're anything other than a baseline human, does your biology differ in any notable ways?
What occupation did you have in your world of origin? "Student" and "unemployed" are perfectly valid answers.
Do you have any prior experience with war?
Time travel?
Alternate universes?
Technology at the level the Initiative is operating with?
Do you have any background in medicine?
What about the STEM fields? For anyone who doesn't know, that would be Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
What kind of weapon did you choose upon entrance to Exsilium? If it has a special function, feel free to include that at your discretion.
Have you made use of the Initiative's training areas outside of mandatory training hours?
If you answered no to the above, why not?
What is your opinion on the Initiative and their missions?

Feel free to skip any questions you feel are too intrusive, or encrypt things if you would like to answer but would rather not answer to the whole network. Similarly, if you would like to answer but don't trust the Initiative's technology, I can currently be found in the library (the one not in the Hold) and would love to either talk face to face or take answers written elsewhere. Look for the blonde in the Metropolis University sweatshirt. Any and all private communication will be kept completely confidential and is only to satisfy my own curiosity. Thank you in advance for any answers!

And, out of the interest of fairness, I'll give you my own answers to this little survey.

cut because holy wow this is getting long )

[ ooc | here, have a textbox with the survey in it to make filling it out easier! ]

Good day. I hope those of you who are sick are taking care of yourself. Please come to the hospital if you need to. I did. While it is crowded, it may be a better location than your room.

Firstly: when I am well, I plan to run a memorial service from my faith for Adam Jensen. While I know he did not follow it, it is the only one I have the rules and rituals for, and there is a phrase from my homeworld: "Sometimes the living need comfort, for the dead have already found their honor."

Secondly, if someone from the Department of Initiative-Transport Relations could contact me, I would appreciate it. I have an idea, and I would prefer to discuss it with people who could assist me in presenting it or organizing it without the Initiative's interference.

While I know there is great distrust of the Initiative, I propose we prepare transportable packages of rations and survival equipment for missions in order to have supplies instead of foraging in areas we may be ill-prepared to do so, or ill-provided for the numbers we bring. Our logistics and planning are shabby at best, and we need to do better in order to maximize our chances of success.

The Initiative picked an interesting time to bring me back. [The fully armored man on screen sighed, flopping back against the wall from where he was sitting and eying the tablet in his lap. He might even be looking a little exasperated, if one were capable of noticing that through his body language and tone. When considering that most of his facial expressions were hidden beneath that visor well enough.] Especially when it looks like a lot of people are getting sick, thanks to our friends beyond the wall.

So it'd probably be a good idea to stay away from crowds if you'd prefer not to join them.

[A quick second pause, tapping his finger on his leg a few times, before finally shrugging.]

Looks like I'll have to figure out what's changed about this place later, once things calm down.

[Guess who is sick? And dragged to the hospital against her will stuck in the hospital.]

I don't want none o' your doctors. [She wheezes into the device, smart enough to keep it off.]

What I need is a wise woman. There are herbs and teas t'do me fine, none o' these metal machines. [She has to lean over to cough. It sounds like she's hacking a lung out.]

I won't stay here. In this metal buildin'. I'll fight me way out. I swear-- [And another coughing fit takes over before she just ends the feed.]

[Guess who's back from wandering off randomly to shoot fire at abandoned buildings? Also, guess who's sick? Also, guess who isn't going to the hospital? The answer to all three is this girl.]

The other day, I had some mildly bad things to say about United Earth's lack of appreciation for a fair fight. Learning now that they wage war using plagues, I may have been too fast to judge their character.

[Painful, hacking cough.]

I'm convinced now. I'll do anything that is in my power to help the Initiative fight them.
