Loki Laufeyson
09 June 2013 @ 01:32 pm
[A glowing erne swoops into the city and, with a flash of light, materializes into a man. Loki walks through the streets, allowing his aura of power to waft over the people around him. That aura says "You stand in the presence of a god". He summons his communicator with a gesture and the device floats before him as it turns on a video feed. Yes, folks, Loki is hamming it up today.]

A friend perishes, a world dies, and now this land is beset by plague. These last few weeks have not been kind.

[He frowns.]

As my brother is no longer among us I feel the burden falls upon me to appear in this time of turmoil. I offer you a cure. With but one touch of my hand I can cleanse the disease from thy body.

[As he says this, he lifts a hand glowing with a pale green light]

A miracle cure, one might say. And who better to bring a miracle than a god?

Should you have need of my power then see me. I will linger as long as I am needed.

[ooc: More on this here]

The next time someone decides to experiment with untested psi tech, run it by a telepath or two first? Or at least warn me so I can get out of range before the migraines start.

[Why yes, he has spent the last few days hiding out in his little workshop area with all the lighting off and trying not to move too much because it felt like he was going to puke or his head was going to explode. Which probably accounts for his tone of grumpiness. Though if he wasn't constantly putting his body through the wringer, it'd probably help, too]

[Filtered to his friends + roommates]
Sound off, if you can? I don't like the sound of that last announcement from the Initiative - biological warfare's a nasty business.

[if Nate's had more than one friendly conversation with you, you're probably on that filter list. Or if you were on the expedition]

Adrasteius Bloodspeaker
09 June 2013 @ 07:19 pm
[There's been a tremendous spike in patients recently, and the influx is only worsening as the days pass. The clinic doesn't have a robust staff as it is, so Adrasteius--and probably anyone else on the roster--is more than a little overworked. His expression over the feed is harried, haggard, and more than a little frustrated. Normally, diseases wither into nothing under the influence of the Light, but this illness has proved alarmingly resistant. He can treat the symptoms well enough, but the sickness itself keeps surviving. It would drive him to drink, if he even had time.]

This situation is getting out of hand. If you're still able, and you have the skill, the clinic needs you. I don't just mean healing skill, either--we need people to run supplies, prepare food, organize files, maintain records, all that sort of thing. Just tell me what you're able to do and I'll find you a place.

[Adrasteius runs a hand over his tired face, but his eyes are as bright and steady as ever. They might be bogged down, but he's damn sure not going to turn anyone away--not until taking in more people becomes unsafe.]

And if you think whatever this damn thing is has gotten hold of you, come see us. Not just because we aren't the Initiative--but because even their hospital is probably overflowing. We're busy, but we've still got clean beds and I'm still going to take care of you. I can't eliminate the disease, but I can mitigate whatever pain you're feeling, at least.

Takegami
09 June 2013 @ 10:39 pm
[He doesn't care if people sees his face or not. He also doesn't care that he is looking far paler than normal or that bandages on his hands show fresh blood on them. He had been a little silly, and he is paying for it so no one should point it out to him - or at least that was his thought. Feel free to tell him otherwise.]

This must be not exactly the kind of welcome they had hoped for all the fresh blood in this place. A strange disease, the natives growing violent over the possibility of a cure, and people going which ever way they can in an attempt to find those that started this.

[Takegami pauses as he takes a drag on a small cigar, his movements slow as if he has all the time in the world. He doesn't since he is sick, but he won't let something like that get in his way.

He never feared any death, though he might think it is rude when it tries to take away his control.]

I would say welcome to those that have joined us Transports... but this is not the time or place. So instead, I will say Songen o motte shinu ka, mattaku shinu koto wanai.

[And with that, he flicks off the feed so he can have a nice little coughing fit without people seeing it.]
