[Again, Lucifer is in the borderlands somewhere, holed up in some ruins. This time, however, the walls behind him are scrawled with charred sigils and there's the residual feeling of magic in the air. Someone - likely the devil himself, but could be anyone! - has recently cast a spell here. If this is a concern to Lucifer, he doesn't make it known. Instead, the camera hovers in front of him as he looks thoughtful.]

This inquiry is directed to individuals with more than five senses. If you can't sense magic, then you can go do something else if you want.

To those who know when the fabric of the universe is being messed with, please continue.

[He clears his throat and wipes ash off his hands.]

At the masquerade, someone was messing around with time. If, my friendly time-messer, you are listening to this, you should let me know. I don't think you will, but just to put that out there.

If you have any other ideas on who is messing with time, I'd love to hear them. And everyone, I imagine. As we're all hostages together, it's important for us to have a greater understanding of what we can do, so we can get things done together.

That's all.

[PRIVATE TO CROWLEY.]

I think you've had a reasonable enough headstart.

[PRIVATE TO PRESTOR.]

Still waiting on those virgins. Don't make me forcibly remove them from you.

Samus Aran

[Samus had missed the initial flurry with the murder of Amar Singh, as she was over at Adam's apartment tending to his wounds. It wasn't anything she regretted, but rest assured, as she came into the precinct the next day her efforts were focused on helping to gather evidence. By necessity of her trade, Samus was well adept at reading corpses and crime scenes. Perhaps she would have been the one to note the nature of the entry wound, and the second bullet that missed him and lodged in the adjacent wall. Aside from the mismatching ballistics profile, all other evidence wasn't looking very promising for the suspect.

Pinkman would take the stand tomorrow. Samus, for the most, seemed content to not give any statements and only procure the evidence to be used in the trial; let the lawyers do the layering. The results should speak for themselves one way or another. She would quietly observe the (ridiculously theatrical flying holographic screens and all) court proceedings as she had been, and then go back to working on a personal case of her own: how Adam truly sustained his wounds.

Zagreus has also been distantly on her mind. Ah, yes... she should probably check in with the Doctor and Blue...]

For the record, next time there's a party don't invite a horde of dragons and firework robots, or whatever those were. I've been picking wings and scales out of my suit all week.

[OPEN ACTION]
[As implied Samus has been a busy lady again these past few days; going to-and-fro from the police department, around the Hold and in the city as her job/business takes her. Perhaps she's working hard down at the precinct talking about space jazz with Calhoun and Shepard around the water cooler yelling at Adam for stealing her snacks god stop it, or she's investigating for the trial, in the market/shops shopping for spare mechanical parts/tools, hunting wild burger beasts to feed Maya, or just out and about.

If she's in the police department or her apartment, she's probably not in the Power Suit. If she isn't, she'll have her big conspicuous suit of orange alien space armor on.

Either way, Samus is very susceptible for random (even literal) run-ins as of late.]

[ He picks up his device, using it as a makeshift mirror. ] I wish I were vain enough to keep a mirror on my person when I think of these things.

[ Reaching to left eye, he lightly grabs the eyeball with his index and thumb. He forces the lids back to take a better hold before twisting and carefully pulling the eye out. ]

With the new year coming, I want to make sure I see it well. [ The empty socket has the eye lids half close around it. Segai breathes heavily upon his robotic eye in his hand. Sniffing loudly, he lightly cleans the lens of the eye with a soft cloth. ]

So, how shall you all be celebrating the end of this year and the start of the new?
