Carol

[The past few days have been quite the culture shock for poor Carol. She's seen so many strange things already, from the city itself to the inhabitants that were brought here just like she was. Her camera's already almost full from all the pictures she's taken, and she's pretty sure Mr. Vice-President would be pleased with her if he knew how hard she was working at trying to gather information. Still, after being shoved into temporary housing, she's had a difficult time adjusting. And that's why she's been practically staying at the library for the past few days, doing hours of research just to find out the history of this place. Of course there's a lot to go over, and a lot to take in.

But there's something that's been bugging her since she arrived. And so she's finally going to try using that Tablet of hers to get some answers.]

Hello! Um, I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a local newspaper being run here. Back home, I worked for the Daily Days, a very prestigious newspaper company! And I thought that even though I've ended up in this strange place, I should keep working hard to continue delivering news to the public! I don't want to slack off after all...

If someone could give me some answers, I'd very much appreciate it!

[Action - Library.]

[And for people actually in the library, a little later on in the evening, there will be odd sounds coming from behind one of the large book shelves. If you choose to investigate, you'll find large stacks of books everywhere. At the center of this giant pile of books is a little girl curled up with a blanket and snoring.

Looks like someone tried to make their home in the library.]

Are YOU talented?
Do YOU have a story to tell?
Do YOU like to tinker?
Do YOU want to get the word out about something?
Or are YOU just tired of all this idiotic infighting between us and the Exiles and want to do something about it?

Then contribute to Radio Free Exsilium.

Radio Free Exsilium is a not-for-profit public radio enterprise that will be launching in several weeks' time. The stated goals of this enterprise are as follows:

1.) Provide a single, unified news and emergency broadcast system for both Transports and Exiles.
2.) Provide a venue for Transports to showcase their talents and entertain their fellow city-dwellers, thereby raising morale of both Transports and Exiles.
3.) Encourage enterprise by providing a low-cost platform for advertisement.
4.) Counter the propaganda broadcast by the United Earth by creating a platform for Transports to speak directly to Exiles.

So how can you help us accomplish these goals?

Donate. You can buy advertising time or just give us cash. All money you donate will be invested directly into Radio Free Exsilium. It's even tax-deductible!
Work. We need technicians, engineers, and mechanics to help us set up our broadcast and to help us produce radios to distribute to the Exiles. Compensation is negotiable.
Volunteer. Even those without experience can be trained as technicians to help launch this enterprise. And, once it is launched, we'll be looking for volunteers to broadcast music, stories, shows, comedy routines, news, weather, etc. over our network.

Interested? Reply to this posting or contact Sofiya Karimov directly.

And for those of you not really into reading big blocks of text:
We're starting up a radio to make the Exiles hate us less; get involved if you're tired of getting beaten up.

Halfpipe
11 August 2013 @ 01:45 pm
[On screen is Halfpipe with a smile that lights up the whole of her blue-tattooed face. She's in what looks to be a seedier district of the city, but not many Exiles are around.]

This place gets more and more like my world every day.

[At which she shifts the camera to focus on a point behind her--what several people will recognize as one of Exsilium's brothels.]

I'm curious, guys. How different is it here, compared to your homes? And if it is different, is it in good ways or bad ones?

Oh, and I'm Halfpipe, by the way.

Berserker (Lancelot of the Lake)
11 August 2013 @ 07:57 pm
[Berserker shows up on camera, wearing his full set of armor, sans his mask. He's holding his helm under one arm with his free hand holding his tablet, pointed towards his face. He's standing inside of what appears to be a rustic old castle, empty though adorned with lavish furnishings. Walking through the interior of the castle, Berserker ignores what appears to be a host of trinkets, trophies and food-stuffs better spotted in his age.

He made pause, looking up tattered tapestries left on the walls, a few areas marked by the impacts of swords and arrows, though to someone who had scarcely seen a castle under siege, those things would go unnoticed. There are eternally lit torches hung from each wall, a few illuminating Berserker intensely.]

I see. My Masters, it appears that my existence alone in a place of fame will allow me to bring forth this castle. I had not thought to even try it...

[There is a slashed mantle and tabard hung from one wall. Though it's in tatters, one could see the Pendragon crest on it.]

It is my castle. If my Ladies are in need of it, I will plunder its depths.

[Anyone looking for the castle itself wouldn't have to go far--it would be right outside of Exsilium's limits... a fairly large fortress castle.]
