[ If by any chance you've been wondering where that bizarre golem has been for the past month, we are here to inform you that she has been on a very important mission. ...Important to her, anyway.

When the feed cuts on, the video shows Shale's upper half, and for all appearances it looks as though she just emerged from... well, the ocean. Water is dripping and draining from her various cracks and crevasses, and an assortment of seaweed and other plastic ocean debris seem to be clinging to her. Still, her ridiculous appearance doesn't seem to be dampening her otherwise serious expression, as she has very pressing matters to address: ]

Some time ago, I overheard a discussion that mentioned [ shudder ] flying fish, and when I went in to investigate I found... nothing! Nothing at all! It was completely devoid of life! ...Aside from me, that is.

I have little experience with bodies of water, so correct me if I am wrong, but are there not supposed to be fish in them?

I don't care either way for the creatures, but I admit I am curious to know what could have caused it. With any luck, perhaps the birds will meet the same end. Oh, I can picture them now, falling from the sky, splatting on the ground, bursting into flame perhaps! The possibilities are endless!

[When the video clicks on, it's easy to think the owner of the tablet might have turned it on by accident, as it is sitting in the lap of a young woman in a bright orange robe, the hood of which is tugged down to half-hide her face, and she is looking away from the camera, out at the city. She appears to be sitting on a bench near the arrival building, if the faint bustle of people rushing about is any indication around her.]

[After a moment though she glances down at the camera and smiles faintly, one violet eye and some blonde hair visible past the edge of her hood.]

I never really thought about it, but when you know something was destroyed, if you find it again it's nice even if it's nothing like you expected.

[She shifts in a way that might be a shrug.]

Although that's assuming this isn't all simply some trick, I suppose. Or a frighteningly elaborate, complicated dream bubble. Hmm.

[She seems like she's going to say something else, then she hesitates, and after a moment's thought, reaches out to turn the tablet off. A moment or two later, there's a text message from the same account.]

( Oh hey, it's that questionably metrosexual guy with some other dude's voice and bright green eyes again. It's like he can't conjure [haha get it because he's a mage or some shit] an expression that isn't a scowl or something. Damn, what an asshole. )

I'm certain you're aware, but unless you were quite a bit too dense to notice -- the sun does not seem to shine here. At all.

I have been patient in my time waiting for any sign of its familiar illumination but it seems to be entirely in vain.

( Frankly, this shit doesn't make a lick of sense, and he isn't happy about it. )

I cannot be the only one bothered.
