[The video feed turns on the show the face of a rather serious-looking young man wearing a very fancy suit... a very fancy suit that looks although it's been slept in for the past two days.
He's very slowly coming to terms with the fact that this isn't all some sort of absurd dream, and has decided that perhaps it's time to introduce himself. And he's prepared.]
Good morning.
To those of you who are listening to this message, my name is Miles Edgeworth and I am a prosecuting attorney. There is still much that I do not know about this world, and I would welcome all information anyone would care to provide, or directions to a place where I might uncover more about this place for myself.
After all, if am forced to remain here, then I expect to be informed of all aspects of my current situation in its entirety, from as many different sources as possible. I do not presume to speak for all of you, but I, for one, do not care to work for a cause that resorts to such underhanded dealings such as abduction and much worse to achieve its goals.
[Underhanded, but not to mention preposterous. These sort of happenings should be confined to science fiction novels where they could remain. Unread. But he continues nonetheless.]
You, as a 'transport' who has also arrived under circumstances similar to myself, are the ones most likely to understand and share this belief of mine. I can only hope that you will be willing to assist me in this matter.
That's all, and thank you for your attention.

Los Angeles.
So, this 'Hold' is not completely lacking. That is somewhat reassuring. I will head to the library later today.
text; oh that's fine he'll have enough other chances looking at his beautiful face and THANK YOU

[ A short pause, wherein she twirls some of her hair around a forefinger in thought. ]
When you put it that way, it is kind of rude of them. But I think they mean well! They need to save their timeline, and with some of the attitudes here, maybe asking permission first wasn't really an option!

[It sounds a bit strangled; he clears his throat and then even provides a demonstration!]
Do you mind if I ask you if you're human?

Which we kind of are, but! The same thing goes both ways. Do you try hard enough and work long enough with the people who've got the hold on you to figure out how to get away and thumb your nose at them in the end, or do you go for open conflict from the get go?
... But really, why are they pulling in lawyers, of all people? Wouldn't that work better... after a war?

Our netbooks has access to some books and learning modules, if you can find them. Last I checked the interactive modules were only on ancient history and weapons through the ages, but I guess it's relevant to our interests if we're supposed to use those weapons IN the past.
Other than that, the library in the Hold everyone's already gone over, and whatever books you can buy secondhand, I haven't seen much.

Hi, Milesy! [ yep, you're dubbed that forever. ] My name's Trucy. My daddy used to be an attorney, but.. well, he was on the other side. A defense attorney! I sometimes help him and his apprentice out! [ look at this cute little girl acting all assistant-like. ]
The Initiative guys are pretty fishy, and everyone's been talking about some Virtual Reality thing that happened right before I got here. It was pretty nasty! .. So I heard!

Is that the occasion in which people relived past memories?

They really have a thing for variety.
Well, either the Initiative thinks that they cannot win this war with brute force alone, or the technology they're using to abduct people is defective. Both are reasonable possibilities.

though he isn't going to lie. having someone else familiar with law - ever a prosecutor - is hardly a bad thing. because as much as he hates to admit, he misses his job in Ystad Polis right now. ]
A prosecutor? [ A beat. ]
So what've you been told already? [ because there was little point regurgitating things already said. ] Other than the delusional intro by the lady in purple?

[ It's strange, somehow, that the more he says it the more he begins to believe it. The words, however preposterous the concept they describe, roll quite nicely off his tongue. ]
