[The video feed turns on the show the face of a rather serious-looking young man wearing a very fancy suit... a very fancy suit that looks although it's been slept in for the past two days.
He's very slowly coming to terms with the fact that this isn't all some sort of absurd dream, and has decided that perhaps it's time to introduce himself. And he's prepared.]
Good morning.
To those of you who are listening to this message, my name is Miles Edgeworth and I am a prosecuting attorney. There is still much that I do not know about this world, and I would welcome all information anyone would care to provide, or directions to a place where I might uncover more about this place for myself.
After all, if am forced to remain here, then I expect to be informed of all aspects of my current situation in its entirety, from as many different sources as possible. I do not presume to speak for all of you, but I, for one, do not care to work for a cause that resorts to such underhanded dealings such as abduction and much worse to achieve its goals.
[Underhanded, but not to mention preposterous. These sort of happenings should be confined to science fiction novels where they could remain. Unread. But he continues nonetheless.]
You, as a 'transport' who has also arrived under circumstances similar to myself, are the ones most likely to understand and share this belief of mine. I can only hope that you will be willing to assist me in this matter.
That's all, and thank you for your attention.

text; no worries! o9
I don't see what my age has to do with the matter at hand.
Is it biased, then, towards the aims and goals of the Initiative?
text;
From what I've seen. It'd be silly to actually expect any pro-UE literature when we're supposed to fight against them. Only makes sense that the enemy would be painted in entirely negative colors.
Not like I anticipate ever getting an unbiased opinion on this matter.
text;
Nevertheless, even if the available literature is biased, it can still be used as a starting point as long as the one who reads it possesses a critical mind.
text;
[ Given he pretty much just arrived himself. ]
Yeah, but I'm not sure everyone here does. People will lie to get you to do their dirty work for them.
text;
'People', especially those who have purportedly brought us here, have been lying from the very beginning. Most of the transports would be aware of at least that.
text;
[ guess who's just been hacking everything he could get his hands on ]
There has been some general mistrust, yes... but the real question is, what can we even do. I'd more than like to file a lawsuit, but I'm sure you'll agree that would be ineffectual.
text;
[And how ever much he doesn't want to admit to himself that this laws of this place are probably at best, rather lacking, or at worst, completely opposite to what he's accustomed to, he must agree.]
It would indeed be near impossible to file a successful lawsuit without a full knowledge of the laws that govern this place - insofar as they actually exist.
text;
And that's probably more your area of expertise. Though I'd be surprised if there were any laws that allowed transports to boycott and protest against the government in this place.
Didn't put us here to make things even harder for them, after all. Which brings us back to the initial question of how trustworthy and 'better' any of them are.
text;
It is strange, however, because it is as you say. They claim that they have brought us here to help them fight their war, yet what they are doing is certainly not making us sympathetic to their cause.
text;
Pretty sure most of us have our own problems to take care of. I can understand why they would forcefully conscript combat experienced people, though there doesn't really seem to be a pattern. What would they need a lawyer for? Doesn't look like they're going to argue their case in a court.
[ of course he's mainly curious if there's more to Edgeworth than meets the eye ]
text;
You think that they would be willing to accommodate our needs, considering that they wish us to fight for them. As others have pointed out, lawyers and other such individuals learned in matters of the law would be more useful to bring in after a war had been won, and not during it. Why bother with the burden of another unnecessary mouth to feed?
It is possible, however, that it is not only through force that they hope to wish to win this war. Perhaps they will use any method of destabilizing the UE government, and a specialist in any area could be made of use.
text;
Most revolutions in history have been bloody ones, but I don't doubt negotiators are necessary. A few well thought out arguments, even just words, can sometimes make all the difference.
[ he should know. ]
text;
[ He still can't believe that such a concept would actually be used as a viable method of winning a war... he wouldn't have thought it possible.
But he's here now, isn't he? ]
text;
There's also other relatively interesting stuff, such as this and this.
I can send you more if you want. I'm pretty good with computers and when it comes to digging up information.
text;
That second broadcast is of particular concern. Have the UE really shown the ability to also retrieve resources, as it were, from different realities?
[ This certainly wasn't falling under 'conversations he'd been expecting in his near future' this time last week. ]
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
text;
Right. I'll be sending you a list, Mr Edgeworth. It's rather long.
[ and here Adam attaches a document which includes links to plot relevant posts on the main comm -- but I'm also handwaving that he wrote up transcripts of public and hacked conversations which would give an insight to IC events detailed on the OOC comm. he basically wrote up timelines and backed them up with sources. LET'S NOT GET TOO DETAILED ]
I'm far from done yet, but there you go.
text;
Thank you. Everything you have provided me with thus far has been of great use.
[ But then there's a question he probably should have asked a little while ago already. ]
...Who are you?
text;
-- Oh right introductions huh ]
Adam Jensen. I worked law enforcement for a while.
[ he adds that last bit preemptively, because he knows that's gonna come up. ]
text;
text;
text;
... And the year?
text;
Right, I almost forgot that's relevant around here. 2027.
text;
What has changed in that time?
text;
Probably not a whole lot aside from the rapid, inexorable advancement of technology. Can't be sure this is even relevant to you, though.
Does the name Sir Hugh Darrow ring any bells?
text;
It does not.
