I know that may be an unacceptable proposition to some of you, especially after the most recent difficulties with opening the agricultural wing.

But from the perspective of safety and advantage, this is better.

Even at its widest point, the English Channel is only 240 kilometers.

We're in an extremely vulnerable position up here. The UE doesn't even necessarily have to be the ones to kill us---the zombies nearly did, merely by puncturing one of the outer walls of the base. And it was only because the hole was easily isolated and the very few people trapped could escape quickly that we all survived.

If that happens again in a majorly populated area of the base, anyone who can't shield themselves from the effects of space exposure will die within 90 seconds. And death is permanent now---again, I suppose.

And when it comes to the threats that we cannot do anything about, this place is safer.

All we can truly do to beat the United Earth is continue to change past events.

This is a safer place to continue to do that, uninterrupted.

The old city was not even 300 km away from our enemy. We were often under attack in one way or another. And we were only barely able to evacuate before they destroyed it with bombs.

This place has its own safety issues, but at least we're much farther from the force trying to kill us.

All that we can do to win is continue to change time.

This is a much safer location to do that.

Aside from the safety concerns raised by others, we would have to continue devoting our resources to resupplying and making sure the station is safe and livable. There is also the issue of our continuing flux in population. Eventually our population might grow to the point where this station would not be serviceable.

There's also the matter of morale.

All problems that we can cope with. What we cannot counter is the brute strength of our enemy.

Morale... while I hadn't thought of that, there has always been tension among us. Even back on Earth.

I think I can figure why you think so, but it's a bad idea. Zombies aside, the station's small, and most of the transports aren't even soldiers.

[ Meaning they lack discipline and aren't used to such conditions. ]

I don't recommend it. People will suffocate in more ways than one and start to fight amongst each other.
