Hello, fellow Transports! I know we're in a bit of a pinch right now what with this super-virus mutating and infecting some of the population, but if you have a minute I've got some questions I'd appreciate some answers to. Some of them may help either now, if we're going to be trying to treat this virus at all, or in the future should anything like this happen again.
Feel free to skip any questions you feel are too intrusive, or encrypt things if you would like to answer but would rather not answer to the whole network. Similarly, if you would like to answer but don't trust the Initiative's technology, I can currently be found in the library (the one not in the Hold) and would love to either talk face to face or take answers written elsewhere. Look for the blonde in the Metropolis University sweatshirt. Any and all private communication will be kept completely confidential and is only to satisfy my own curiosity. Thank you in advance for any answers!
And, out of the interest of fairness, I'll give you my own answers to this little survey.
[ ooc | here, have a textbox with the survey in it to make filling it out easier! ]
What's your name?
Age?
Place of origin? Planet, country, and city of origin would be the most helpful.
Species? If you're anything other than a baseline human, does your biology differ in any notable ways?
What occupation did you have in your world of origin? "Student" and "unemployed" are perfectly valid answers.
Do you have any prior experience with war?
Time travel?
Alternate universes?
Technology at the level the Initiative is operating with?
Do you have any background in medicine?
What about the STEM fields? For anyone who doesn't know, that would be Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
What kind of weapon did you choose upon entrance to Exsilium? If it has a special function, feel free to include that at your discretion.
Have you made use of the Initiative's training areas outside of mandatory training hours?
If you answered no to the above, why not?
What is your opinion on the Initiative and their missions?

What's your name? Kara Zor-El.
Age? Functionally somewhere around 19/20.
Place of origin? Earth, United States of America, Metropolis. Originally from the planet Krypton.
Species? Kryptonian. We look fairly human on the outside, but our internal organs are vastly different from those of the Homo sapiens sapiens. Radiation from a yellow sun also affects our bodies in ways baseline humans don't experience.
What occupation did you have in your world of origin? Full-time superhero. I've also sold some technology to a business with a large R&D department.
Do you have any prior experience with war? Yes.
Time travel? Yes.
Alternate universes? Sadly, yes.
Technology at the level the Initiative is operating with? Possibly, yes. I haven't had time to analyze all of it.
Do you have any background in medicine? Nothing more than basic first aid, but I'm interested in learning more.
What about the STEM fields? Yes. I was part of the Science Guild back on New Krypton. These days I mostly focus on mechanical and electronic engineering, with astro- and temporal physics being a hobby.
What kind of weapon did you choose upon entrance to Exsilium? A small sphere the functions of which are unknown.
Have you made use of the Initiative's training areas outside of mandatory training hours? I have plans to.
If you answered no to the above, why not? N/A
What is your opinion on the Initiative and their missions? I haven't been here long enough to form a complete opinion, but so far I think they're in over their heads a bit. Messing with time is always difficult and usually inadvisable.

Text and Private and backdating to the 8th if that's ok
Age? 19-20
Place of origin? Linphea, the Magical Dimension.
Species? Fairy. Um. I have wings and magic?
What occupation did you have in your world of origin? It's a bit of a complicated answer, since I call a few different worlds home, Earth included. Anyway: Teacher, Fairy Pet Shop Veterinarian and Nutritionist, Guardian Fairy, and Guitarist, I suppose?
Do you have any prior experience with war? I have more experience fighting in battles than a full-scale war.
Time travel? Not before here.
Alternate universes? Not like this, no.
Technology at the level the Initiative is operating with? Yes.
Do you have any background in medicine? Veterinary only.
What about the STEM fields? What a cute name for them all. I like it. Botany, some math, and other magical disciplines, if that matters at all.
What kind of weapon did you choose upon entrance to Exsilium? A scythe.
Have you made use of the Initiative's training areas outside of mandatory training hours? Yes.
If you answered no to the above, why not? N/A
What is your opinion on the Initiative and their missions? I think that they could probably stand to improve in some areas, like narrowing their parameters for who gets here, as well transparency, and maybe better organization. I don't know a lot about huge wars, but I'm used to fighting in a team where, among other things, everyone at least knows one another's strengths and weaknesses. On that last mission, everyone I fought with turned out to be capable, but I'd met all of them for the first time. We made do, but it was far from ideal. Still, the Initiative doesn't make us fight if we don't want to, and they've tried to come up with a way for people to go home. As for what they're fighting for, I believe in it. I think their hearts are in the right place, they just need a little pruning, maybe.
I'm sorry, I think I got a little carried away, there.
totally okay!! also permatext, permaprivate because i am lazy
Teams that know each other and can work well together would make everything easier by orders of magnitude, it seems.
I AM ALSO LAZY. 8Db THIS IS MARVELLOUS
I think so. I know a lot of people might not be team players, and while I'm not sure they can really afford that kind of thinking here sometimes, there are people here who still can work well with others. A lot of the Transports here have certain needs, and the Initiative is pretty accommodating and prepared for them in certain ways, that I know of. They anticipated that and know about us, so it would be nice for them to take that a step further and anticipate whose skillsets and powers would work nicely with others. Or maybe designate some Transports to put together their own teams at their discretion. Nathan Summers seemed to be working towards something like that.
I don't know. All I do know is that I don't want to see anything like what happened ever again, especially when some of could have been fixed in doable ways, by all of us.
no subject
Maybe I should talk to this Nathan Summers guy, see what he's got going.
no subject
It couldn't hurt. He wanted ten people for a team, and a lot more than that answered his network post, so at least a lot of people feel that something like that would help.
no subject
[ but if flora did, it would sure save a lot of time on kara's part. ]
wow kara so lazy
Here you go.
delegation isn't lazy, it's practical!!1!
THAT'S WHAT ALL LAZY PEOPLE SAY!!!11!
