First things first - Initiative? Really? Come on, couldn'tcha be at least a little original? I mean I'm having a serious case of been there, done that. And for the record? Not really looking forward to doing it again. I've had the tour, I've seen the shinies - and I'll say again. Not interested. Opposite of interested. Me and freaky government strongholds go way back. We had a very hot and heavy relationship, but we're seeing other people now, and both of us are better for it. So, second thing? If you could just, you know - help a girl out and point me toward the nearest exit? That'd be real peachy. Failing that? I'm not your strong-arm. You can't control me. Don't even try.

[ It sounds like she's done, but then there's rustling, and she comes back. ]

Oh, neat um -- neat weapon thingy. By the way. Looks like it might be stolen tech from someone very unsavory. But you almost had me drooling. I'm watching you.

[ She offers a smile. ] Buffy. So, Peter, what's a girl gotta do to get a non-robotic-soldier-guided tour around here?

I'm a non-robotic-soldier if you're interested. I've been here a few months so I know my way around.

Color me sold. [ She grins. ] Where should I meet you?

Outside the apartments will be a good spot.

Ten minutes! [ She ends the feed; But low and behold, in ten minutes, she's out in front of the apartments. She's a lot smaller than she acts like she is, and she's leaned against a lamppost, which stunts her even further, and... Basically there's a tiny blonde waiting for the human sponge. ]

[spongetastic]

[luckily Peter has some experience with small blondes. When he sees her he offers a friendly smile and a wave as he approaches]

Hey. So where do you want to start?

[defending]

[ She gives the same in return, a friendly grin on her face despite the circumstances. ] I was thinking here? And just kinda take it on the go. I got the basic rundown from the strongarm when I woke up, but I have this eensie weensie suspicion there's a lot more to it.

[spongetastic]

You would be right. Well, I'm guessing you don't really need a tour of the apartments, so... clinic. Probably a good idea to know where that is if you need medical attention. [he starts heading in that direction]

Helps that you now know a member of the staff. I'm emergency response.

[defending]

Apartments I'm good on. [ She follows, upbeat despite the circumstances. ] But I heal fast. Any patching up I need I can usually do at home.

[ She turns her head toward him as they walk, quirking an eyebrow. ] Ambulance guy huh?

[spongetastic]

That's right. I used to work in hospice, but I decided I wanted to save lives rather than watch them pass.

[a pause] Healing fast seems to be a thing around here. Maybe I should've come up with a plan B.

[defending]

Yikes. That had to be rough. But, I mean -- how do you deal? I can barely handle the non-medical saving of lives sometimes. Stress, stress, and more stress.

[ She snorts. ] I don't heal instantly. Just... faster than usual.

[spongetastic]

It's hard work, but I love doing it. Even with all the stress, I couldn't imagine being anything else.

You're not alone in that. Just out of curiosity, could you heal from anything?

[defending]

Yeah, I get that. It's a thing. Destiny, blah blah... Thing.

[ What are you talking about, strange boy. She quirks a brow. ] Anything meaning...?

[spongetastic]

Destiny. Exactly.

[a casual shrug of his shoulder] Like, say you fell twenty stories. Could you recover from that?

[defending]

[ Wow, okay, that escalated quickly. Her brow furrows and she looks at her feet as she walks. ] Probably not. But knowing my history, I've survived a lot of things I shouldn't have, and somebody would find a way to bring me back from it.

[spongetastic]

[hey he had to ask. The other healers he know can do it] That must come with the whole "destiny" thing, too. Coming back.

[defending]

Or, y'know. CPR once and magical resurrection the next.

[spongetastic]

You sound like you would fit right in with my world. ... Unless you mean that "magical" part literally.

[defending]

I mean literally. My best friend is a witch.

[spongetastic]

Okay, that part isn't anything like my world. [he chuckles, pausing as they have come to the clinic]

Well, in case you have someone else injured, this is the place to go. I've been on the night shift, so you'll have a friendly face if you come in.

[defending]

So, what, you have tiny girls that can one-hand benchpress couches, but no magic? Sounds kinda lame. [ She's teasing, of course. She gives the clinic a once-over. ] I'm a nocturnal kinda girl. Maybe I'll just swing by with coffee occasionally. As a thank you for the tour.

I'd like that. It'll be a nice break from teaching my co-worker how to play paper football.
