She's lounging in the Initiative apartments, looking like she's recently made friends with a superiority complex. ]

I want to speak to those of you who have seen a war before. Not the skirmishes that the Initiative sends us on here, but actual war.

And failing that, I'll take anyone that knows magic — and can teach it. That part is important. Don't waste my time if all you can do is cast it.

[It's not all that uncommon for Kang to only occasionally see his roommates. By now he's pretty sure Lord Prestor is gone, and he's quite thankful for it; he was just starting to think that maybe Onyx had gone home as well. He still has a few spells to teach her, and she had made it clear that she wanted to learn all of them. So, when he enters their quarters that night, he stops when he sees her on the couch.]

I haven't seen you in a while, Onyx.

[ She glances over, blinks, and... oh, right, the draconian. She'd almost forgotten that she'd lived with him. She doesn't smile, but she does at least turn to more fully face him. ]

I've been on Krynn. [ a little wryly: ] Growing out of that name.

[ seriously, jeez, when was the last time she heard that? Not since it graced the lips of a dead man. ]

Two wars, one of them as a 'commando', the other training slave to rise up against their masters. Perhaps not so honorable, but a vorpal strike to an army can be more damaging than a full-on battle.

I am no stranger to warfare. Where I hail from we are bred as warriors from the proverbial egg. I have fought in wars that have torn apart nations, turned brother against brother, and sunk entire worlds.

And as for magic... What is it you wish to know....?

Those are precisely the sort of wars I want to hear about. You must have a hundred stories.

But in terms of magic, continuing our previous lessons would be enough.
