[ This lady's looking a little different, for anyone that's spoken with her before. Not any older, but there's a sort of crooked quality to her nose, like it'd been broken and healed some time ago. She's lounging in the Initiative apartments, looking like she's recently made friends with a superiority complex. ]

I want to speak to those of you who have seen a war before. Not the skirmishes that the Initiative sends us on here, but actual war.

And failing that, I'll take anyone that knows magic — and can teach it. That part is important. Don't waste my time if all you can do is cast it.

[Well, that's a relief. And - the human?]

I was right about you, then. You're not human. What are you, really?

[onblackwings]

Right about me? [ She arches a brow. ] You'd put some thought into it. What gave me away?

[governorkang]

You are far too powerful a sorcerer to be human. You don't move or speak quite like a human, either.

[He removes his cloak and shakes the excess water off before hanging it up and calmly taking a seat across from her.]

[onblackwings]

[ She frowns a little at "move or speak", that will apparently take some more studying, but... ]

You were right. [ A shrug. ] Any guesses?

[governorkang]

Dragon is the only thing that comes to mind, but I'm admittedly not all that knowledgeable about many of the other races and their magical abilities.

[Please don't be a dragon.]

[onblackwings]

[ It's kind of annoying that her identity is that easily guessed, but she smiles. ]

Right again.

[governorkang]

[Well, shit. He frowns.]

I doubt you're one of Paladine's.

[onblackwings]

[ Don't you frown at her, sir. That should be a good thing. ]

I'd be offended if you thought otherwise.

[governorkang]

Which flight? You're not nearly dumb enough to be a white.

[onblackwings]

[ Her face darkens a little at what she supposes is technically a compliment, but she doesn't comment on it. ]

Black. [ A beat, and she adds: ] You won't be talking to the bronze about this any time soon, I'm sure.

[governorkang]

[...huh, he would have pegged her as a blue or a green. She's interesting.

He snorts, his own face darkening a bit.]

I prefer to not talk to the bronze, or any metallic, as much as possible.

[onblackwings]

Good. [ Her smile is back again, because really, that's the best possible answer. ] And I hope this won't have any affect on our lessons.

[governorkang]

I see no reason to stop them.

[He's not fond of dragons of any color, but she hasn't done anything to him yet.]

[onblackwings]

I'm glad to hear it.

[ And she glances around, for the first time considering the apartment. It doesn't look much different from how she remembers it, but she remembers it only through the haze of a few seasons, so... ]

...How long was I gone?

[governorkang]

I don't know. It could have been a day, or maybe four or five.

[He doesn't spend much time in the common area.]

[onblackwings]

[ She frowns. ]

It wasn't longer?

[governorkang]

[He shrugs, and shifts slightly to get more comfortable on the couch.]

Like I said, I don't know.

[onblackwings]

It was seasons, at home. [ That's stupid. She shakes her head, already tired of thinking about it. ] More of this place's nonsense.

[governorkang]

You never told me what year you were taken from. Obviously before the War of the Lance, or you would have known what I was.

[onblackwings]

[ She considers it, then shrugs. ]

The war hadn't started yet, to my knowledge, but I was on my way to join. I suppose someone might have eventually mentioned the year to me, once I got there.

[governorkang]

We weren't created until 342 AC. The war officially started in 351 AC.
