[The feed clicks on, and the video shows a rather vexed young woman walking along the sidewalk or what there is of one. Her brows are drawn together, and her blue eyes are narrowed, displaying both suspicion and frustration at her surroundings. Finally, she grumbles and stops walking, looking directly at the screen.]

I don't know what sort of sick change this is, but I'm not laughing. What the hell is the Initiative, and why do I need a weapon now? There damn well better be some decent answers. No one's been very eager to explain much.

[She scowls up at the building behind her.]

New home, huh? We'll see. [Kallen sighs and directs her attention to the feed once more.]

It's doubtful anyone's been happy about arriving here, so it's a pretty safe bet there's no known way back yet, huh? That figures.

[Instead of going straight inside, the redhead simply sits against the wall of the building, still glaring at anything that meets her gaze.]

Just perfect.

[ Collette's wheeling by in her wheelchair, considering options for dinner (which frozen delight was she going to throw in the microwave tonight?). There's nothing particularly engaging about someone sitting and glaring out at the world -- except for where they're doing it. ]

[She glances up, glare softening at the friendly tone before she sighs with a nod.]

Not sure I could be more obvious if I tried, huh?

You could wear a sign saying, "I just got stuck here and I hate everything." I think that's about the only level of more obvious to hit!

[ Collette smiles, moving her chair to better face this new person. ]

Stopped by your room yet, or did you head out here after they ended the official "tour?"

[He'd been casually scanning over the networks, trying to gather as much data about this place as he could - when his finger slipped at the sight of a certain person. Rookie blinked, regaining himself long enough to adjust the screen and focus on the entry, before he took a few quick seconds to decide on whether or not he should speak.

Didn't take him very long to give in.]

... Usually how stuff like this works, but at least this place is nice enough to tell you some things directly.

[His voice is as neutral as he can get it, but boy does it still sound tentative. He wants to be sure on whether or not this was the same Kallen before jumping to any conclusions.]

[If he's watching for her reaction, he'll be rewarded with her eyes suddenly widening at his voice, but she quickly attempts to regain composure. Kallen takes a shaky breath, then laughs.]

This stuff, huh? You have experience or something?

[Oh, he was watching closely. Eyes searching for even the slightest hint of recognition, which is why that sudden change in her expression definitely raised his interest. Now to test that.]

I guess you could say that. [Some hesitation, before he's moving along as casually as he could.] Spent some time at a crazy magic castle, before getting dragged here. Met a lot of good people. Experienced a whole lot of weird things.

Wasn't too bad of a place, in retrospect.

[Have a robot walking out of the building. Stopping and looking around to get his bearings.

Noticing the angry red head.]

Hey, any chance you know where I can find a tech or gadget store around these parts?

[Kallen looks up at the robot, only momentarily startled before she shakes her head.]

No idea. I'm fresh off the transporter.

You haven't happened to hear about Action Scientists have you?

Hey, 'snot that bad!

[Who said that? Why it's the talking blue hedgehog perching on one of the security light posts! The anthropomorphic fuzzball stands perfectly balanced, arms crossed, and alternating between looking at her and the smoggy horizon.]

Kinda wish they woulda asked first... but I'm willing to lend a hand. They sure could use one.

[Kallen looks up, and her first response?]

Since when do Pokemon talk?

[... yup.]

[He looks over to her again. He's been hazarded to be a lot of things, but THAT's new.]

Huh? What's a Pokemon?

Nobody is. Least of all that no known attempt to leave has worked, so far.

[ Zexion takes a moment to examine the person in the screen, making a mental note that she doesn't seem to think she needs a weapon, and therefore probably can't fight. The Initiative seems to have a penchant for making illogical choices in their recruits. ]

Well, that's good. [Sarcasm!] Is there anything positive about this?

[Kallen would probably punch him if he said that aloud.]

That I can see, no.

[ Which is why he doesn't! He's smart enough to know better. ]

Unless you're the type of person who enjoys exotic technology.

They say we're here to fight. The weapon's supposed to help with that. [ It's vaguely reassuring to see somebody equally annoyed. ] I don't believe it, though.

Which part don't you believe?

The one about fighting. If that was true, we wouldn't be sitting around doing nothing.

I wouldn't have minded too much! Except I was in the middle of something, but it can wait, as long as they return me to right time.

[ Feferi shrugs, and smiles in an attempt to be comforting. ]

The Initiative is the group of humans that brought us here. We're helping them fight a war! That's what the weapon is for.

[She grumbles a bit, but eventually responds, tone lightened a little.]

Not enough people to do it themselves, huh?

They're not eager to explain much, no, because they don't seem to want to share what they actually know.

[She's cute, though, in a feisty sort of way that reminds him of Katniss.]

That's going to make for a great rebellion, then! Don't inform the people you drag from wherever of what's going on and still expect them to fight.
