[The feed clicks on, and the video shows a rather vexed young woman walking along the sidewalk or what there is of one. Her brows are drawn together, and her blue eyes are narrowed, displaying both suspicion and frustration at her surroundings. Finally, she grumbles and stops walking, looking directly at the screen.]

I don't know what sort of sick change this is, but I'm not laughing. What the hell is the Initiative, and why do I need a weapon now? There damn well better be some decent answers. No one's been very eager to explain much.

[She scowls up at the building behind her.]

New home, huh? We'll see. [Kallen sighs and directs her attention to the feed once more.]

It's doubtful anyone's been happy about arriving here, so it's a pretty safe bet there's no known way back yet, huh? That figures.

[Instead of going straight inside, the redhead simply sits against the wall of the building, still glaring at anything that meets her gaze.]

Just perfect.

Hopefully, my world won't manage to make that possible. My job is hard enough as is without governing bodies mass producing things like that.

Also, I'm tired of getting punched by people in robot armor.

Hell if I know. It'd be pretty hard to hide, though.

If I were you, I'd start looking for large warehouses or underground bunkers.

Easier said than done. I wouldn't even know where to start here!

If I had a clue, I'd let you know.

Otherwise, keep an eye out for large tanks, or other giant robots. Chances are, they keep them all in the same place.

[Turning with her, pointing out a small food joint.]

There, I'll treat with this weird money this time. Not like I need to buy food.

[That just makes her laugh, and she nods.]

[Stuff like that happens often enough, he could use the few deals he could get.

He lets her pick out her food and tests out his card. This is his first time trying to use it, too.]

You're going to have to let me know if it's any good.

[It's just a sandwich, and she shrugs mid bite, not responding until she's swallowed.]

I guess that's good. We could have been on a world where food is poison for some people.

So, you had a robot suit back home. Also, you have a good idea of what a small fighting force should be doing. What was it you used to do back home, anyways?

If they had it poisoned, their resistance would be over before it started.

[She gives a humorless laugh now, shaking her head.] Exactly this, actually. I was part of a rebellion against an oppressive regime. I used the Guren for combat.

Sounds like you're better suited for this than any of us.

I'm going to see how this place is organized first, but I might start trying to organize a team. If you're interested, I could use someone with experience.

Honestly, before anyone even tries that, people should probably see who's on board with all this. Find out who has what experience, military or whatever.

Believe me, I'm not even fully on board for this, but like having back up I know is ready for things.

I'll take your advice though on this one. It's been around fifty years since I was in a real war. Lately I just had teams that help on specialized jobs.

Fifty years without a war sounds really nice to me. What I mean for on board is people who are willing to fight or do whatever they want us to here.

Not without war. Just without a big one. Everyone is afraid to take a major loss so they all sit until someone gets strong enough to make a move.

As for here? I figure we're going to need to help out a little if we are going to figure out how to get home. I don't plan to stay and see this through, if I can help it, but maybe I can leave them a little better off than when I came.

[Kallen sighs and runs a hand through her hair.]

And if seeing it through is the only way out?

Maybe. Or at least playing along until we get what we need.

They might reveal something important along the way, getting cut off entirely doesn't do us much good.

No, it doesn't. There aren't many options here.

Yeah, so for now, lets see what we can do and what we can learn. Also, watch eachother's backs.

It's good to have people you know are in the same boat as you watching out for you.
