[The feed clicks on, and the video shows a rather vexed young woman walking along the sidewalk or what there is of one. Her brows are drawn together, and her blue eyes are narrowed, displaying both suspicion and frustration at her surroundings. Finally, she grumbles and stops walking, looking directly at the screen.]

I don't know what sort of sick change this is, but I'm not laughing. What the hell is the Initiative, and why do I need a weapon now? There damn well better be some decent answers. No one's been very eager to explain much.

[She scowls up at the building behind her.]

New home, huh? We'll see. [Kallen sighs and directs her attention to the feed once more.]

It's doubtful anyone's been happy about arriving here, so it's a pretty safe bet there's no known way back yet, huh? That figures.

[Instead of going straight inside, the redhead simply sits against the wall of the building, still glaring at anything that meets her gaze.]

Just perfect.

They brought us here to fight. An' I don't blame em, really: I took a run up north to the channel to get a good look. The UE controls EVERYTHING over there...

Anyway, we won't be fighting them head-on. Nope, we're changing their past! Headin' back to alter history so that they're not as strong in the present, so that one day we can eventually fight back.

[ardor]

[She jerks her head over to look at Sonic a little better, shocked by his words.]

Wait, wait. Time travel??

[mach_n_roll]

Yup! Time travel! Hahah, cool, huh? I haven't been on any missions yet, but I'm ready to go whenever they are!

[ardor]

How exactly do the missions work? Do they just pick a few of us and chuck us back in time?

[mach_n_roll]

Tell ya the truth, I'm not sure. I figure they brief us beforehand, tell us what to do, what we'll be facing, stuff like that.

...Oh, didya get your weapon from the guys? You know, the one they souped up?

[ardor]

The usual.

[She scowls a little now in response to his question.] Yes and no. I told them if I was going to do any fighting, I wanted my weapon from home, and they just sent me on my way. I'm not sure if it's around here somewhere or what.

[mach_n_roll]

Huh. That's weird. They're not the type to go back for personal stuff, but I can't really say for sure...

[ardor]

[Kallen shrugs, not sure of what to say.]

[mach_n_roll]

...Hey, don't worry! No matter what, they won't leave you hangin'!

[ardor]

I hope not, given the mess they dragged me into.

[mach_n_roll]

[He was thinking more in terms of not leaving her without her chosen weapon if they could help it, but...]

You'll be fine, don't worry. So what was your weapon, anyway?

[ardor]

I'm not worrying. [She taps the key around her neck.]

Armor. They said this is connected to it.
