You are all from different worlds, so you must have different religions too. I am of The Elettari and I know my faith is not yours. I'm not asking you that.

What I want to know is this: Has there ever been a sickness that infected only the religious? Something that spread fast in some but not everyone. Made them act violent and reject their god.

What caused it? Was it cured?

Uhm... I don't know much about religion. Except that it exists, but how could only religious people get sick from something and not everyone else?

well it's magic!! laws of physics and science are sort of tossed out the window =D

i studied alchemy, which isn't the same thing, but even then the lines between that and science could get blurry

I've never heard of a plague that acted like that, but I have heard of people causing panic within a group by poisoning specific members of the group to make it look like they were getting sick with something.

It seems possible, yes. It's up to you to judge how likely it is, though.

Spreads fast and turns religious people violent? Sounds pretty standard to me, but I don't think I'd call that an infection.

I've never seen such a thing! Sometimes religious folks can get violent on their own, but I stay out of it because violence isn't the answer to anyone's problems.

Avoiding violence is pointless sometimes. It will find you anyway. Why would "religious people get violent" against their own temple?

Hmm, intriguing. I've encountered texts from different religions detailing punishments upon the wicked and unholy, yet I've found that deities only truly care about their own wellbeing and power.

Why, is religion-based malady common where you are from?

This god isn't like that.

And no. This never happened before to anyone I ever knew. Everyone just seemed to lose their minds and attack everyone else touched by Kodesh. None of it made sense.

...I have not heard of a disease with such specific symptoms...but perhaps the religious could be targeted and covertly infected, by an enemy group.

It could have been about the spice trade? But I don't think anyone else could have handled something so important. I mean there was quite a bit of money in it but why?
