[It's late, but apparently tonight is a night Lacus is having a harder time sleeping. So she's still awake, trying to keep Haro from being too loud and waking Cagalli or Sheryl. She decides to check the tablet, maybe others are in a similar position, being friends from home but from different points, like she and Kira were. Maybe they might have some advice that might help. She never had particularly thought of it as an issue, not until Kira had brought it up with the fireworks earlier last month.]

I don't suppose....any others here have friends from home that are from different points? I have one who remembers two years more than I do. I didn't really think anything of it initially, but I'm just wondering how others might have dealt with it, that might help. Two years doesn't seem like that long, but a lot can happen.

[Well. That and, she figures things get more serious and intimate between them over that time. For her, they had only recently started dating, but for Kira they had been for a good while by the point he ended up here as well. That is probably her main concern, though she knows Kira would never push her on it, and that he had assured her it was okay to tell him if she wasn't comfortable. But she doesn't want to upset him either.]

I suppose. It's still a little....hm, confusing? My two other friends from home seem to be from around the same time as me, but Kira remembers more than us.

[And. Obviously back home they never had to even consider a situation like this where one of them is so far ahead. But he's right. The main thing is to accept it, which Lacus has, for the most part. It's just that while she knows it has been longer for him, that he has been through so much more than her, he still seems so similar, barely changed in a lot of ways and yet she can't help thinking about it. It doesn't bother her, more worries her that she may upset him mentioning something she doesn't yet know about.]

A dear friend of mine and I are from...wildly different points in time. Much longer than two years, although I'm not sure exactly how long. It's been...difficult. But remembering your friendship and being there for them is the best thing you can do in any situation.

I thought two years was still a fair amount of time. I can only imagine how confusing it must be for a friend to be even further apart in what they remember. But you're right. Of course the main thing is to be there for them. Which of course I will do for Kira.

One of my best friends and I were close to the same age. We were in the same class at school until I graduated early.

Here, he's ten years older than me.

It's confusing, and there's definitely a lot about him I don't know, but we'd still do anything for each other. I'd been so independent already that it doesn't really feel like we're on entirely different maturity levels.

Maybe you could see what your friend is willing to tell you?

Ten years...Goodness, that's even longer. I can imagine that must have been confusing, at least at first. But I guess so, I'm just not entirely sure if there might be some things Kira might not want to talk about. I don't want to upset him.

A general strategy is to jus' not talk about it, but I s'pose that only works when you're the one from the future an' not the past.

Hm. I guess that might be more of an idea for someone who remembers more. I know there are some things he might not want to talk about, and that back home we might not remember what he tells us....

Oh, I do, Miss! All the people I know here from home come from earlier than I do. It seems I know far more than they.

Really? That must be confusing...And how have you managed with that? Knowing more, how much to tell them?

[It might be useful to consider things from the other perspective to help her understand what Kira might be going through here as well.]

I have a friend who's a few months behind me, and one who's a couple hours ahead.

I don't know what you mean by "deal with it", though.

A couple of hours doesn't seem too long. But I guess a lot can still happen in that time.

I just meant--well, I'm not sure if there might be some things he knows that we don't that he might not want to talk about? And I was just wondering what other's here had done in similar situations, since I was sure we couldn't be the only ones here from the same home but taken at different times to come here.

[Cagalli's still awake for whatever reason and decides to check the network one last time before attempting to sleep. When she hears Lacus's broadcast, she's glad she did. The blonde climbs out of bed, puts her slippers on, and makes her way out of her room to head to her friend's.

Have a knock on your door, Lacus.]

All the action with Cagalli. Because since when does Cagalli not take action.

[Lacus pauses, putting her tablet down when she hears the knock, telling Pink to be quiet as she calls out that the door was open.]

My general policy is to say as little as necessary, but it's generally knowledge on a much farther span of time than that. Knowing the future changes the future, and that can be a good thing, or a bad one, depending on how you use it.

But then, I'm not really sure knowing what happens in our future matters? We might go back to the same point we came here from but...if we don't remember this place at all when we go back, then whatever our friends might tell us is useless.

I don't have any advice about it, but...yeah. That happened to me, too. I didn't really ask for any details, though. It's too weird.

You weren't curious about your friends remembering more?

... There's one guy I know of.

He's supposed to be in his twenties, though; not thirteen.

[There's the smallest of hesitations, and a tiny clatter in the background - did he just pick something up?]

It's true that two years can be longer than you think, but it isn't long enough to change who a person really is, I know that much. It takes more than that.

That's true. Kira doesn't seem...all that different, really. But I guess it's because it's only recently that I recall that we started dating, so I think that might be why he's a little...hm, unsure around me now, when he's had two years more with me back home. It's just a little confusing when we used to all be around the same age and now he's older than us.

It doesn't seem like too long overall, but even so. In a war situation, a lot can happen even in five minutes. So it's not too strange that I'm a little uncertain, is it?
