[It's late, but apparently tonight is a night Lacus is having a harder time sleeping. So she's still awake, trying to keep Haro from being too loud and waking Cagalli or Sheryl. She decides to check the tablet, maybe others are in a similar position, being friends from home but from different points, like she and Kira were. Maybe they might have some advice that might help. She never had particularly thought of it as an issue, not until Kira had brought it up with the fireworks earlier last month.]

I don't suppose....any others here have friends from home that are from different points? I have one who remembers two years more than I do. I didn't really think anything of it initially, but I'm just wondering how others might have dealt with it, that might help. Two years doesn't seem like that long, but a lot can happen.

[Well. That and, she figures things get more serious and intimate between them over that time. For her, they had only recently started dating, but for Kira they had been for a good while by the point he ended up here as well. That is probably her main concern, though she knows Kira would never push her on it, and that he had assured her it was okay to tell him if she wasn't comfortable. But she doesn't want to upset him either.]

I suppose. It's still a little....hm, confusing? My two other friends from home seem to be from around the same time as me, but Kira remembers more than us.

[And. Obviously back home they never had to even consider a situation like this where one of them is so far ahead. But he's right. The main thing is to accept it, which Lacus has, for the most part. It's just that while she knows it has been longer for him, that he has been through so much more than her, he still seems so similar, barely changed in a lot of ways and yet she can't help thinking about it. It doesn't bother her, more worries her that she may upset him mentioning something she doesn't yet know about.]

Yeah, I get it. It's just timelines. You'll go back someday and go on living like Kira remembers it. While you're here, nothing happens there 'cause you're here. And when you get sent home, you'll go right back to the same second you got took from. That's how this time travel stuff works.

Yes...Athrun told me that, when he said he had been here for a couple of months and it certainly hadn't been that long since I had last seen him back home. So I know it's comforting to know that at least. It's just...dealing with it here in the meantime, I suppose. Back home, we were about the same age, so I guess it's a little strange now that he is suddenly older like this.

Is it a big deal, him being a little older?

Well, not too much, at least to me. I mean, he doesn't really seem to have changed all that much. I'm mostly worried about saying something I don't know might upset him because of things that happen I don't know about yet, I guess. That and...well, when I was back home we'd recently started dating. Which I guess he's obviously much more comfortable about than I am now.

[He is suddenly starting to get it. Or so he thinks.]

Oh, no. Kira's very kind. He...he understands that I'm from much earlier on than he is with this. I never really thought about things like that until he mentioned it, being unsure how to act around me because of our time differences, so I was hoping to figure out how to make him more comfortable.

Shouldn't he be the one making you more comfortable?

You think so? I think it might be we both want to make each other more comfortable but we're not...really sure how, being from earlier and later on.

He already knows who you were two years ago. You don't know who he is now. Seems to me like it's up to him to help you get to know him.

I didn't really think of it like that...maybe if we both work on it together.

You definitely can't go it alone.

No. I think, together a lot more can be done if we work at it. It doesn't seem fair if only one of us puts in the effort.
