[ The camera cuts on, and Jude stares at it for a few seconds. He hesitates, before leaping right into what he wanted to discuss here. ]

I realize because of our actions while we were stuck on the moonbase that we've changed things here on Earth, but just because the environment in Exsilium is different I think the chances are pretty high that the United Earth will come after us again now that we're back on the planet. And as far as I know we don't actually have any reliable means of uncovering any plots against us. There's no telling when and how they'll strike, and even if there was... do we even have any plans ourselves on how to deal with it? Unless we have advance warning and several days to move people back up to the moon I haven't heard about any ways to protect the Transports from the United Earth.

Besides that, I can't be the only one that would like to think of a defense plan that would protect the citizens of Exsilium as well.

And they're not friends. ]

The ocean is my domain. [ Wow, that sounded so cool. She's keeping that in mind for future use. ] As long as there is water, I can sink an empire's entire fleet! Show me the shore and I can give you a demonstration.

[ The logic seems reasonable, though Jude would probably argue about how important he really is.

But she's definitely got his interest now. ]

It might take while to get there, but if you're serious about that demonstration I'd like to see what you're capable of.

[ Oh gosh, this is it. She never thought she'd get to do it so soon, but she can show someone that now! ]

I'm ready anytime! Just tell me when and where.

It might be easiest to meet somewhere on the outskirts of town, maybe to the east so we can head towards the sea. I can head that way right away if you're okay with doing this now.

I will meet you there as soon as I can.

[ And... she ends the feed there without waiting for more details. She arrives earlier than Jude, mumbling something to herself. She seems to be rehearsing for their first conversation. ]

[ He does try to hustle his way to the meeting point, but it looks like he wasn't quite fast enough. Jogging over to her, Jude's gonna offer up an apologetic smile. ]

Sorry to keep you waiting.

[ Shoot, he's here already!? She isn't mentally prepared for this—wait. ]

Oh! Ah, i-it's fine. [ She straightens up, clears her throat— ] Well then, shall we go? I am not familiar with the area... I only arrived in the moon base this month.

[ If he notices the initial awkward behavior, he's at least nice enough not to draw attention to it. Jude nods though. ]

I can't pretend I know it a lot better. I was only here for about a month before we all moved up to the moonbase, and even then everything here looked different.

[ A pause. ]

I had maps of the place I did get a chance to study when I first arrived though, so assuming there isn't any surprises in store for us, I think I can at least lead us to the coast and back again.

[ Just to try to be a little reassuring there. ]

If by surprises you mean the fauna, I doubt there are any that can hold a candle to me.

[ Kougyoku, there are other surprises than that! Despite her confidence, she still looks... stiff. ]

Lead the way. How different can it be?

[ Jude shakes his head, but starts moving forward. ]

I've had enough experience fighting the monsters in my world that I think I could handle that if it came down to it, so there's no need to worry about that. You can conserve your energy. I'm more concerned about any changes in the terrain that'd make it hard to pass.

What sort of changes? [ It's always snowed in Exsilium... right... ]

I'm not sure, exactly. I don't know what the change in temperature over the years would have done to the land.

Huh. I suppose we'll know when we get there.

[ That's it. She doesn't have anything else to say. There's nothing but dead air now. She's awkward. ]

[ He nods, and lets the silence fall for a bit, but eventually he'll try to strike up a conversation again as they walk. ]

So I'm guessing you grew up somewhere near the ocean?

[ Ah, questions... ]

Oh, no. I did not. The [ palace, she almost slips ] city I grew up in was inland. I do love the sea, though. It's very nice.

Really? I wouldn't have guessed that, you sounded very familiar with the sea.

I spent some time in an island country. My weapon allows me to manipulate water, so I had the opportunity to use it there.

You don't say... so this was a weapon you had before coming to Exsilium?

[ Since he doubts this is the island country she means. ]

Yes. It's called a metal vessel. Metal vessels contain djinn, and my djinn lends me its power to fight. I worked hard for it!

[ Lends powers to fight? The terminology is new, but... ]

I think I can understand the concept. It sounds similar to the system in my world where people get help from the spirits.

Spirits? I've heard of a world like that from another Transport. I wonder if they are the same... Is anyone from your world here?
