I'm curious. How many of us here are below the age of 20? Of those, who have served officially or unofficially during war or fighting in some capacity?

Uh, I'm fifteen, but I've never been a soldier or anything like that. I'm just a high school student. [With fire powers, but that's besides the point]

I'm fifteen too. Well, technically the day of my birthday came and went, so I suppose that makes me sixteen... [Time travel, sigh.]

High school? I'm guessing that's some sort of standard of education?

is it unusual for young people to enlist in military institutions where you're from?

Not at all. I enlisted when I was 13. I'm currently 15 - 16 if a birthday that passed while I've been here counts, I'm unsure it would - and occasionally adult soldiers have expressed surprise or distaste at that.

Yes, as well as 3 others. Only one of them is below the age of 20 though.

It's interesting that all 3 are people that are known to me, though. Miss Annie trained with us, but chose to serve in a different legion.

Like I said, curiosity. I wondered if there was any sort of demographic similarity of the Transports in my age group.

I don't see how they wouldn't, if you fought against an enemy force.

[Man, technology is not easy. But this is Armin and it's relevant to his interests and he's stubborn enough to finally make this thing work for him when he puts his mind to it. (E...ventually. Text takes too long for his tastes but everything else is so entirely alien it takes some getting used to.) In the time it takes him to figure this thing out well enough to ask Armin what he's up to, he gets sort of sidetracked by something else.]

[Totally not the point of this post. But inquiring minds demand to know. (In his defense, answering the original question would be sort of redundant. Armin knows his answer better than most anyone anyway.) Birthdays sort of stopped being able to be a big deal when you were a refugee, and even less of one once they finally hit enlistment age. But that would mean that Armin is older than him and that's just...weird.]

We were allowed to enlist by the age of twelve. In fact, it was encouraged.
