[Well, Asbel has managed to pull himself together. And he's finally figured out that setting the tablet down on a flat surface before he starts recording is a pretty good idea. Despite young face and unruly hair, he seems determined, and the brief smile he offers is kind.]
Hey, everyone.
I'm sure some of you know this already, but a good friend of mine, Cheria Barnes, recently left us. While she was here, she ran a relief organization, and I really feel like we should keep it going. Possibly now more than ever.
Its purpose is to help people during and in the aftermath of difficult situations and to get them what they need, whether it be medical attention, food, a place to stay...maybe a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on, or skills so they can go out and do the same for others.
There aren't any requirements to be a part of this. You don't have to be a medic or a fighter or have super powers of any kind. As long as you want to help out, we'll gladly welcome you. And if there's something you'd like to learn, then we'll make every effort to teach you how.
We could definitely use more help, though, as well as some people who'd be willing to help manage things and keep them running smoothly. If you're interested in getting involved in any way, come talk to us about it. And if you aren't comfortable discussing things over the network or in front of a group, you're more than welcome to contact me directly or see me in person. My name's Asbel Lhant.
Thanks.
((OOC: If interested, please sign up here just so I can have an idea of who all is/was/still is involved. The relief organization runs on a volunteer basis, so how much or how little you wish to invest in it is totally up to you! Thanks!))

How beautiful. Truly, it's a touching sight . . .
[He has stared at flowers like this.]
private;
Um. What is? Reaching out to help others...?
[With Christopher you can never be too sure, so it's best to ask, right? Right.]
private;
[He tilts his head to lean a cheek on his hand. Still, that serene smile.]
To carry on a friend's legacy after they have vanished. To overcome the pain of loss or transmute it into action. What a moving expression of friendship.
private;
[Asbel exhales, looking down at the desk.]
O-oh... That's what you meant.
Well, I know how important the relief organization was to her, so making sure it didn't dissolve seemed like the right thing to do. Besides, I think we could help a lot of people like this, in a greater number of ways than if we were limited to just one major area.
private;
My, how could anyone deny such a heartfelt declaration? Of course, I'll help you. [Because Asbel totally wants this guy helping out. Totally.] With my guiding hand, you shan't stray off the path set down for you by a friend.

[Oh. Oh...that. He glances away.] Yeah... Sophie's taking it pretty hard. And Cheria's probably angry right now; she really wanted to see this through to the end.
[Video]
Is there anything I can do for Sophie?
[Video]
[He turns his head back towards the screen as he considers. It's not like Sophie's been bawling her eyes out (because she can't), but he's definitely noticed she seems to be hurting.]
Well, I don't think she'd say no to extra company. She's always liked flowers and animals and stuff. Sometimes she used to stay up late with the Captain and he'd tell her stories or teach her songs...
And there's always crablettes. [As if that needed to be said.]

Crablettes?

[Gotta be careful with that. Such a thing would be no problem at all.]
Would you be willing to lend a hand with other things? Keeping records, maybe? Or repairs? We could probably stand to come up with some more plans, too.
To be honest, my main concern right now is making sure everyone is adjusting all right. It was pretty awkward before, but with the cramped quarters and all that's happened lately weighing on people's minds, it's got to be even more difficult for them to cope.
video;
Also... [He takes a breath.] I don't know if you know them, but the Mekakushi-dan's been doing a thing where we try to offer help to anyone who's new, or even people who aren't new but don't really have connections from home here. Just... to have a bunch of people they can call on if they need any help, you know? I can definitely offer that too.

[He smirks, as if to say he really enjoyed her company as well.]
Guess I'd better watch out who I get in trouble around.
video;
Yeah...she. She really cares about others. I'm glad if she was able to heal your wounds in the past. [The corner of his mouth quirks very slightly.] Although if she was still here, she'd probably nag you to stay out of trouble.

[Kind of depressing, too. Asbel's got pretty rotten luck himself at times, but he doesn't exactly announce it.]

[He's just more genre savvy than most people....]

I have some skill in fighting and healing magic.

Old dreams die hard.] You're a knight, sir?I see... Well, we could definitely use your help! Have you spoken with anyone from the clinic as well? They've been asking for healers lately, and I know that a lot of people have been using the Transporter to bring in food and medical supplies.
video;
I don't think I've spoken with anyone yet but if you could give me directions to it, I can do so. My knowledge with healing magic isn't as extensive as some of the people I know but I hope that it will help, nevertheless.
[
If Asbel found out about his position in the knights, will he start calling him Commandant?!]video;
Of course. The clinic isn't too difficult to find; it's been set up around... [And here Asbel will proceed to give him general directions because his mun doesn't know exactly where the clinic is located.] Their chief of staff is a man named Ashraf Salib, but Donny should be able to answer any questions you have if he's available. He can get a little nervous, though, so go easy on him.
[
Unless Flynn asked him to call him "Flynn", he probably would, yes. He has a great deal of respect for knights.]video;
Thanks for the directions. I'll go easy on Donny if I ever have to ask him anything.
I'm Flynn Scifo, by the way.
