[Well, Asbel has managed to pull himself together. And he's finally figured out that setting the tablet down on a flat surface before he starts recording is a pretty good idea. Despite young face and unruly hair, he seems determined, and the brief smile he offers is kind.]

Hey, everyone.

I'm sure some of you know this already, but a good friend of mine, Cheria Barnes, recently left us. While she was here, she ran a relief organization, and I really feel like we should keep it going. Possibly now more than ever.

Its purpose is to help people during and in the aftermath of difficult situations and to get them what they need, whether it be medical attention, food, a place to stay...maybe a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on, or skills so they can go out and do the same for others.

There aren't any requirements to be a part of this. You don't have to be a medic or a fighter or have super powers of any kind. As long as you want to help out, we'll gladly welcome you. And if there's something you'd like to learn, then we'll make every effort to teach you how.

We could definitely use more help, though, as well as some people who'd be willing to help manage things and keep them running smoothly. If you're interested in getting involved in any way, come talk to us about it. And if you aren't comfortable discussing things over the network or in front of a group, you're more than welcome to contact me directly or see me in person. My name's Asbel Lhant.

Honor... it's nothing like that. I only know basic first aid, that sort of thing you pick up living with a clumsy sibling. But it gives me something to do.

That's fine. If you're bored, I'm sure we could find enough work to keep you busy.

[Gotta be careful with that. Such a thing would be no problem at all.]

Would you be willing to lend a hand with other things? Keeping records, maybe? Or repairs? We could probably stand to come up with some more plans, too.

To be honest, my main concern right now is making sure everyone is adjusting all right. It was pretty awkward before, but with the cramped quarters and all that's happened lately weighing on people's minds, it's got to be even more difficult for them to cope.

I'm not a physical labor sort of guy but I have some experience with records. Some guy back in Exsilium was trying to fix up a house once and I helped. But record keeping's definitely more my thing -- and writing reports, and if you need anything calculated. I didn't do badly in school when I went, so anything of that sort.

Also... [He takes a breath.] I don't know if you know them, but the Mekakushi-dan's been doing a thing where we try to offer help to anyone who's new, or even people who aren't new but don't really have connections from home here. Just... to have a bunch of people they can call on if they need any help, you know? I can definitely offer that too.

Actually, that would be fantastic. I'm, uh, not so great with keeping track of things...

[So if he'd prefer an "indoor desk job", Asbel will be perfectly content to delegate it to him and pick up the slack elsewhere.

The "Mecha Cool Sedan"? [Sorry, this word is totally out of his vocabulary.] No, I don't think I've heard of them before, but I'm really glad you guys are doing something like that. Kind of like giving them a home away from home, huh?

Yeah. I can definitely help with that.

And uh... close. The Mekakushi-da-- it's okay. It's a name in my language so it's probably hard for people who don't speak it. Anyway, you've got the gist of it. The leader's name is Kido, so I can send her the word if you want.

[Mecca Cushy... May-kahk-shee-da...? Oh--okay. But what exactly does it mean? If his expression is any indication, Asbel's still left wondering.]

She's the person who put together the group meeting earlier this month, right?

[He considers.] I was speaking with someone from the clinic yesterday about possibly collaborating our efforts. If you guys wanted to, I think something similar might work here as well? That way we could spread our resources and help one another out.

... Blindfold. The Blindfold Gang. I didn't name it.

But yeah, Kido's the one who put it together. She's pretty reliable on that sort of thing.

How do you plan to collaborate with them?

It's catchy and easy to remember. [Asbel might look the slightest bit amused, but he's not lying, either.] And it sure beats "Tiger Festival".

[A nod.] I wouldn't mind talking to her about it. Maybe she'd have some ideas?

And well, with the way things are around here, it's hard to prepare in advance. I just thought, depending on circumstances, we could point people in the right direction, or work together if a situation comes up which requires extra hands or backs. The relief organization's purpose is pretty broad, so it may be that we'll need another group's expertise. Or maybe some of our volunteers will be able to help them out with something outside their usual zone?

... Did you guys have a tiger in your group or something? Tigers?

[He pauses, then moves on to the more important topic.]

If you're collecting people with various skills and connections, even being an organization for the purpose of communication alone would be useful. We've got a lot of people here and we need more communication between everybody anyway, because there hasn't been an elected leader and a lot of the people who worked for the police force before have been quiet.

No... That, uh. That name was my idea. Back when I was a little kid. It doesn't have anything to do with tigers.

[He probably believed it sounded cool at the time. A name a masked hero and defender of justice might take on. Hubert's fantasy and adventure stories were the only ones he could ever bring himself to have real interest in. That and books about knights.]

[Asbel listens thoughtfully.] Coordinating among all the different organizations, you mean? I'll admit, it's pretty difficult to keep track of who's doing what, not to mention which groups people are involved with.

Oh, believe me, I've got no idea. But so far we've definitely got the clinic and we have Kido's small gang and there's the big group that always had the cookies. And us.

I'll try looking into this, see what I can find out.

[After all, having a "big picture" would definitely help. There's a ton of things going on, and staying on top of them all is nearly impossible as it is.]
