There is something about this world that I still have trouble understanding. Those who are capable of using magic from other worlds are, for the most part, perfectly capable of using it here, with a few exceptions. And yet, the natives of this world don't seem to use magic, themselves. They instead rely upon science, and technology.

Does this mean that magic exists within this world, but humans here are simply not interested in learning more about it, or even attempting to discover it?

Maybe they just haven't awoken to the ability yet! Say, do you think if that's the case and it happens, maybe I can learn magic or a super power? That would be great! Maybe I can fly or get heat vision or something! =D

You want nothing to do with the kind of magic I use. If you're serious, you should ask Erza, Natsu, or Juvia Lockser instead.

My magic doesn't require an external source, but it is very complicated to explain.

That may depend on whether 'magic' comes from individuals or their environment. Though I wouldn't know; I never saw any form of magic in the land I come from.

I was only hypothesizing that magic might exist in this world, if it can still be used here by those who already know how. But I suppose that's rather difficult to tell, for someone who has lived in such a world as long as I have.

To be honest, some of the things people can do here may as well be magic—pulling us through time and space doesn't seem much different to me. But then I've been told I'm from very far behind the times.

Man, I hope not. Cos bein' a magic user in my world is pretty crummy. You kinda gotta have a monster inside you that talks about eating you all the time.

Or you know, at least that's how mine works. I hope there aren't any Gates on the Earth now, cos you're kinda more likely to get eaten than you are to become a wizard.

Pretty much. Gates are born with monsters sleeping inside them, and then if they fall to despair the monsters get out and start trying to kill them and turn them into monsters. If they can overcome it, then they get to be wizards, but if they can't... they become phantoms, the monster takes over.

Even after they're wizards, they can still become phantoms... You probably weren't here for that, but it happened to Haruto. I had to kill his Phantom to get him back. It really really really sucked.

What you would call 'magic users' in my world have a part of the brain that allows them to do so. It could be that the people here do not have anything similar.

I admit, medical science in my world isn't as advanced as it is, here. Magic itself is usually enough to heal most wounds and illnesses. That said, I don't think that is the case, in my world.

The technology back there is much different than here as well. The people use spirit artes in order to heal themselves.

If you're curious about the people here, the ones who are native, why do you not ask them?

To be honest, I've been wondering about that myself. I haven't ever seen people perform magic before without the aid of spirits, and as far as I can tell there weren't any on the planet, much less its moon.

Spirits exist within my world as well, but they aren't connected to all forms of magic.

But they're still required for some? Honestly it's still amazing to me how much people from other worlds have been able to accomplish without the help of spirits.

That is a good point. I'm not sure why anyone didn't consider it sooner. But there are people from various worlds here, perhaps it is only more recently that the Initiative considered the idea of magic being possible, if they are so fixed on their ways in research and technology.

I'm not sure. Possibly, since it is pretty obvious that some of us have magic of sorts that might not be explained through science.
