Video | BACKDATED to early the 11th

[It's early Wednesday morning when a new video message turns up on the network. The nun seems to have none of her usual energy and the bags under her eyes are fairly pronounced. Flynn and Fluffy have likely put up with her pacing almost incessantly since dinner time last night, and even now she fidgets in her seat, fingers playing with an ornamental looking watch hanging at her neck.]

Has anyone seen Chrono? Short, grumpy, purple hair. He's usually with me.

... He might have been in some kind of fight, so I'll take anything. Or anyone to help me look.

[She takes a moment, of staring at the blank screen, and then huffs and shuts it off HERSELF.]

[as promised, Tempest spends the next few hours exploring every part of the city Rosette hadn't been too, plus a few places she had been. The hospital for one, just in case, the clinic, the training facility; places she frequented and places she could ask around at.

She doesn't bother to check in, because she figures Rosette will contact her if she hears anything.

It isn't until near evening that there's a knock on her apartment door]

ACTIONY ACTION

[There's no answer from inside, but the door, should she try it, is unlocked.]

[hyanaimne]

[damn right she's trying the door. She pushes it open and peeks in, before stepping in fully]

Rosette?

[soul_sister]

[The young girl is laying sprawled on the couch, sleeping expression illuminated by the tablet she never turned off. One mud covered boot is by the door, the other is still on her foot and she's sprawled much like she'd just flopped there and hadn't managed to get back up.]

[hyanaimne]

Honestly . . .

[shutting the door behind her, Tempest makes her way over there, picking up the tablet and turning it off. She sets it nearby, then, after a moment of hesitation, tugs off her cloak and drapes it over her. She wouldn't be surprised in the least if the foolish girl did the exact opposite of what Tempest had told her to do.

. . .

After a moment, she leans over to take the boot off, too. Because hell if she's letting Rosette get her cloak all muddy]

[Depending entirely on how good of a grip Tempest has on that foot, she may in fact get kicked in the shoulder as Rosette wakes up suddenly from the tug.]

[she probably wasn't expecting the response to that kick to be some colorful cursing in another language.

There's a moment, where Tempest considers how to respond. She'd gone almost three months - three months! - without losing her temper. She'd been good about it, been patient and hadn't even set anything on fire out of anger once.

It would be a shame to break such a streak]

[her temper, however, is something she has no confidence in whatsoever.

Her magic control? Well, that's an entirely different story. Without releasing the hold she has on Rosette's ankle, she quickly casts a small shock - enough to make up for not setting her on fire and to show her that she isn't some goddamned Sister whoever]

[Hair on end, she jumps straight out of couch and lands in an undignified lump on the floor with a shriek.]

[And she's up immediately.]

WHAT WAS THAT FOR?

Be thankful it wasn't fire, girl.

[And is that her cloak on the floor? Why did... how? .... Oh.]

[hyanaimne]

Hmph.

[Tempest gets up and moves to the kitchen. Taking it over for making tea is go]

Did you even listen to a bloody word I said?

[soul_sister]

I heard about the fire! [Out of sight of Tempest, she points towards the kitchen, about to yell to Chrono to back her up.

Without comment or sound, she simply drops the arm and looks for her tablet.

No messages.]

Did you find anything?

[hyanaimne]

I didn't.

[Tempest sets the kettle on the stove, then proceeds to just make herself at home, so to speak. She certainly wasn't going to eat anything, but she did threaten to make the girl eat]

And I was not speaking of the fire, I was speaking of eating. You did not, yes?

Well... I wasn't hungry and there was work to do and some people made some really good suggestions...

[hyanaimne]

[there's there distinct sound of a pan slamming (not too hard, but hard enough) on the stove]

Get in here.

[IT REALLY IS LIKE SISTER KATE.]

[after the whole microwave thing, Tempest feels like she's committing some sort of crime, letting Rosette in the kitchen]

Do you have any vegetables about?

[soul_sister]

[It's okay, she hovers at the threshold, like it's forbidden territory (because it is.)]

Er... try the bottom shelf in the cold box?

[hyanaimne]

[she gives her a strange look (who keeps vegetables in that box?) but checks there, pulling out a vegetable or two and placing them on the counter.

She finds a knife next, and . . . okay so maybe Rosette is banned from being in here. Well, it wasn't as if she wasn't used to breaking rules. She points the knife at her]

Get in here and make yourself useful. You can at least use one of these without setting anything on fire, yes?

Of course I can! I've done line cooking before.

[Though due to her unfortunate abilities in the kitchen, this WAS usually her job. She takes the knife by the handle and pulls the chopping board over a relatively level part of the counter.]

[hyanaimne]

[she rolls her eyes, but decides against a snappy retort] Thin slices, then.

[she's had no luck in finding any decent spices to cook with (not that she knew much about that in the first place, but Rosette didn't need to know that), but after some experimenting, she'd learn that salt and pepper would do enough of a decent job. She turns the burner on under the pan, adds enough of both that should cover cooking a meal for two, then adds some water. It starts to simmer, slowly]

[She looks over curiously...]

What kind of meat do you use with that? We don't really have a lot right now.
