Hello. A couple things:

1 -- Are there any licensed therapists around here? Before you ask: yes, it's exactly what it sounds like, and before you volunteer like the good samaritan you are, I should probably inform you that I gave my last counselor a nervous breakdown.

So. Just figured I'd point that out. But hey, why not give it another shot, right? Even better if you know a thing or two about neurocybernetics, but that's not a must. We can work out some form of payment.

2 –- Another vending machine at the station went missing. What the hell is up with that? Whoever's doing this, are you deliberately trying to annoy me and keep me from doing more important work or what, while I'm chasing a vending machine thief. That said, we're low on staff. Go sign up if you have nothing better to do with your time, but don't touch any fucking vending machines. Unless you just want to get a drink, I guess that's okay.

3 -- Your thoughts on pursuing a serious relationship while trapped in this place. Go.

Whoever stole the second vending machine is likely the one who stole all of those other things a few months ago and then tried to resell them on the network. Regardless of whether he steals again, he needs to be found and brought to justice. I would consider that the most important work of all.

As far as pursuing a relationship while here, I see nothing wrong with doing so.

Yes, I am still working on that case. Mind, it's more annoying than anything, since none of the stuff that disappeared was really valuable, but I get really grumpy if I can't have my soda.

There are too many unpredictable factors when it comes to relationships. I'm asking myself what the point of getting attached is when people can disappear at a moment's notice.

I don't think commitment is the problem here. For one, we're in a war; second, this place is unpredictable. I've seen people come and go, at random. And what happens when all of this is over?

2- That's a rather odd target for theft. My hands are busy with my store but I'll keep an eye and an ear out.

[She saw Adam's post. She read all the subthreads. At least once. She rolled her eyes and proceeded to ignore it. How could she possibly give any merit to a post propositioning relationship advice that also simultaneously asked for a licensed therapist?

...Samus wished it was that easy. Samus Aran feared few things, but of those few things emotional intimacy was possibly one of them. Or at least the prospect of it frightened her, and not for what it was but for what it could do--both to her and someone she legitimately liked and cared about.

Long term wasn't a word she could even fathom the idea of, let alone with Ridley's presence. If anything, it made her inclined to want to distance herself from it all the more. It was slowly becoming apparent that Adam has his own set of issues complicating the matter even further, and she knew just ignoring it wasn't going to resolve it.

All the electricity-deprived apartment building offered was deafening silence and blackness. After the initial excitement of the morning to discover that was probably just a blown fuse somewhere, the rest of the day was dull and monotonous by comparison. Her patrol was uneventful, seemingly wherever her boots carried her. The rest of the city stayed lit up and carried on as usual, barely taking note of one building left in the dark. Adam's building was right over there, she could see it plainly from where she stood.

1 - I hope you can find what you're looking for. What are neurocybernetics, though, if I may ask?

2 - That's really strange. Why are they interfering with your work, though? Are you living off them?

3 - If there's something I've come to realize recently, it's that people can be lost in a lot of ways. It's really sad that someone you care about can vanish one day, but that can happen just as easily without being in a place like this.

You might as well try to enjoy the time you have while you have it. You might regret it if you don't.

1 -- to put it simply, it's about how cybernetics relate to nervous systems, and machine-brain interfaces. I'm wired differently than most other people, in both a figurative and literal sense.

2 -- I handle security at the station. Aside from having to abstain from soda, I can't just ignore that someone's been... misplacing things.

3 -- Yeah, only that the chances here are a lot higher. Enjoying something is one thing, but how much can you really enjoy something if you constantly have to worry.
