[ It's not video this time for no apparent reason. The reasons are not apparent because you can't see him. It's like a catch-22, just without the catch, or maybe the other twenty parts involved. Maybe even twenty-one. Who knows. ]

[ For the most part, she's been relatively calm. Routine helps with that—reading what she can, watching the network enough for hints or mentions of anything, someone she knows. Pepper's close to simply trying her luck with it when there's that voice. She knows that voice. Of course she does.

There's the slightest hint of a tremor in her fingertips as she touches the screen, hoping she's not gone a little crazy now. It's all she needs, really. Tony-voiced hallucinations in a strange world. But she says his name, mouths it since there's no sound to add to it. Maybe she's just a bit emotional anyway. ]

[ It takes him a few seconds to notice there is a thing happening here, and then he does. He sees her, on the screen, no sound, and for a second he thinks it's a picture, somehow. Of her. But she moves slightly, and now he knows it's not real. ]

That's cheating. Fuck you, whoever you are. Because I'm no where near hallucinations and it's, you know, it's damaging to get things too early. [ But he watches her, she mouths his name, and suddenly he feels like at the end of that nightmare where he doesn't save her. She falls and he doesn't save her and she dies because of him. The shift in his face from anger and irritation to recognition and then sadness and fear is all fleeting and jumbled but present. ] What the fuck is this... [ Quieter. ] Shit, I need to check that programme, I haven't been looking at it, man, haven't movies taught me anything? [ He gets up out of the video he switched it to at some point while he was angry by accident. ]

[ Well. That's rather anti-climatic, isn't it? Her features brighten instantaneously when she sees him, falling half a second later when what he says makes no sense. Or maybe it does if she thinks about it; there's hardly any time to do that though. She's spent so much time worrying herself sick and trying not to cry that there's no excuse for this.

She hates not being able to say anything. Something. He might look the part of eccentric now, a bit ragged for god knows what reason, but it's him. She has to believe that. It takes her three separate times to stop shaking long enough to send the text. ]

Right now, methods of more reliable transport. Cars are pretty much out because they require too much inventory, but other stuff. Useful things. Umbrellas. Whatever I decide we want to make, really. The labs in the Hold are nice but I've never really been one much for observation.

What level of technology are you working from? I'm from early 21st Century Earth and I'm pretty good with engines and the like, but I'm still catching up with some of what's available here.
