I don't really like doing that announcement thing, but since I'm her roommate... Snow White's gone home! Which is good, that means she's finally back with James, who's her total love at first sight wonderful husband and she has a daughter that maybe she'll get to see now so I'm happy for her. Right, and Al left too, but that was last month. Uh... a few others, but I don't really know the full list.

It makes me curious about something else, though. What do you guys do to show you remember and care about people who you'll probably never see again in this lifetime?

Yeah, those are the ones I was talking about. It really seems like with those people, this is our once in a lifetime chance. Which is exciting! Just a little sad sometimes, too.

I guess. Not really once in a lifetime kind of thing though. This is the second time this has happened for me.

The first time was back home? Or you mean, like a different world with other universes all with representatives and stuff like that?

The latter. Apparently, multiversal spawn points aren't as rare as you'd think.

Yeah, I remember Vanadi was telling me he came from a world that was able to go to all sorts of other worlds where he was before! He even met a version of me before. He's like, the only one!

I told him I did remember, at first. 'Cause I thought it was weird, too, but in a nice way? It's like... I've never had someone be that happy to see me before. Ever! And what he talked about, the place he'd been, it sounds amazing. I wouldn't mind if that was the me I am, but...

I get a feeling it's not. Which is okay too, just less exciting in the long run.

But it was an alternate timeline. Yeah, that happens a lot more than you think. I've got some issues with that on my own. I'm guessing since this is locked now, he doesn't know.

No, Vanadi knows. There's a few reasons he figured it out... and I admitted it, eventually. It's just not something I want everyone to know about.

Oh, okay. It's not really a big deal though, I don't think. If you've been somewhere before here or not, that wasn't your original origin. I know two other people who have gone through the same thing.

I was more thinking the willful lying to someone is kind of rude and maybe not the best character trait to highlight so bluntly, but you're right! I know others who've gone through the different worlds between now and their home world.

It's a lot more common to lie. It's actually kind of more unusual to find someone completely genuine.

Honesty's difficult, but it's... really important. Not always what people want to here, though. White lies are usually easier to swallow. Just true enough to be true, just lie enough not to make people feel weird.
