I don't really like doing that announcement thing, but since I'm her roommate... Snow White's gone home! Which is good, that means she's finally back with James, who's her total love at first sight wonderful husband and she has a daughter that maybe she'll get to see now so I'm happy for her. Right, and Al left too, but that was last month. Uh... a few others, but I don't really know the full list.

It makes me curious about something else, though. What do you guys do to show you remember and care about people who you'll probably never see again in this lifetime?

Hey, how've things been for you and your important people lately, anyway?

That's a weird topic change but okay. I guess I've been okay. Feferi's not been around a lot, but I haven't snapped and punched anyone in the face lately except myself so I guess I'm okay. I'm a few steps closer (I think) to convincing my... dad he's not a brainwashed computer?

Well, he's more my "ancestor." That's our word for it. But "dad" is closer to the human phrase. Although my lusus was my dad too. Two dads, I guess? Uh. Yeah.

And he's like that because of just... stuff. Fucking messed up stuff.

You guys have really complex families. It's neat, though confusing! I swear I'll almost get the hang of it one day.

A giant bicyclops with enough mental disabilities for me to be a more of a caretaker of him than him of me.

I've never heard of a bicyclops before! Do you miss him at all, for all that? Or did you not like having to take care of him when he was supposed to take care of you?

Of course I miss him. But, he's dead. It doesn't matter now.

Parental units. Beings that raise you, verses beings that gave you your genetics. In human language, it means the same thing. Right?

No, not always. Parents are who raise you! You have a biological father and a biological mother, but that doesn't make them your parents. Though the word parent and mother and father all get wrapped together sometimes, for most people, especially those who do have parents who're also their biological mom and dad. It's not always plural, either! Raised by a single parent, that kind of thing, it's not uncommon.
