[ it opens with the sound of walking, the creak of a door opening followed by hard soled shoes on an old wooden floor. there's a creak of a lid opening, and then the scrape of a chair across the floor. There's a pause without sound and then there is a song. After it's done, Takegami plays a couple simple scales and then sighs. ]

That was an interesting interlude. Do try better next time, mm? I think I lasted a good two minutes laying in that alley. Mind, I am still pissed about my jacket. Do you know hard it is to find a good leather coat in this place? Blood does not come out of leather, never mind the holes. People and their guns. How messy.

[ yeah, he does not care about dying. in fact, he finds it a little funny. ]

Well apparently the feeling's far from being mutual.

Ionae. I don't believe I had talked to her before.

She believes I am insane. [ a pause as he thought about it and shrugs. ] By most standards, I probably am. I told her I just lack the ability to hold onto emotions the way most of humanity can. We shall see if she understands what that means.

The conversations with her are interesting. She was once like one of the horrors from Lovecraft stories, if I were to believe her tales.

Are you planning on having her kill you again and again until she gets it? [Because that's not only insanity, that's masochism.]

You don't believe her?

No. It is not like I had plan on her killing me the first time. I never thought she would dare to. She seemed so scared of breathing the same air as I.

[ he thinks for a moment. ] It might be true. She finds such simple things as bathing a hard concept to keep a hold of, let alone the idea of alcohol.

You like scaring people, don't you?

[Which makes Raven wonder why he seems to enjoy her company since she's not, nor has ever been scared of him.]

She told you all that? It seems she chooses the weirdest people to confide in.

I like seeing how they react when something they feel should fit in a mold does not. If it brings about fear or anger or sadness all depends upon that person.

[ Raven wasn't someone who expects him to be anything except who he was. That is always a refreshing thing in his mind. ]

I inferred. She was talking a lot about her true nature in the bar. The other information I gathered from how she reacted in other conversations and the fact that she is rather unkept.

[She smirks slightly.] Have you ever tried instilling positive emotions into someone for a change?

Hmm. Not used to the effect of alcohol on her system either, is she?

That I save for people I actually like.

[ slight smile and a shrug. ] She certainly was having problems with names.

[A smirk although her voice remains perfectly deadpan.] Be still my heart. Teijirou Takegami would have a heart that allows him to like people?

How did she call you, then?

I must have a heart; something keeps the blood moving in my veins. [ He smirks at his own joke and shrugs. ]

Usually I am 'that creep' though I think she upgraded me to 'you're fucking insane'.

Looks like it does a little more than that, though.

[A smirk.] So it seems that she didn't have that much problem with names.

I regret to inform you that even I have some inclinations towards humanity.

No. She just seemed to have problems with understanding that there are always exceptions to the rules.

I'm shocked.

Like what for instance?

Not all people are scared of dying. Not all people will run when a gun is brandished. Not all people will be ignorant and foolish.

If she doesn't know that then she really does have a lot to learn.

She does indeed. Now I must figure out if I should let her stew in some fear of her own making, or if I should do something in response.

[ He moves a little stiffly from the piano and pulls out a bottle of alcohol from a small hidden spot in the wall. ]

[She eyes him curiously, surprised by the sudden change to his body language.] Do something in response?

[ He is a little sore, something that likes to remind him every once and a while. He pours himself a stiff shot and inclines the bottle towards her in offer. ]

As in should I kill her in return and see what her mind thinks when she comes to life?

[She shakes her head, refusing the bottle. She doesn't drink alcohol. And she doesn't any physical pain to distract herself from, contrarily to him.]

Doesn't sound like the most brilliant idea ever to me. Not by far.

...Your body still hurts, doesn't it?

[ He sets the bottle down and picks up his glass, downing the shot with a slight grimace from the burn. ]

It does seem like a foolish idea, however, I sometimes think that she needs to know what death is since she is so scared of it.

Some residue bruising. Most of the damage is gone but I did not want to lay there any longer than necessary. They were looking into new ideas for a chip.

Not sure the experience will really reassure her.

Then it probably was a good idea. [She pauses a bit before adding.] I could heal the bruises, if you want. Unless you don't mind the pain.

It would probably send her into fits of apocalyptic horror.

I do not mind pain, but the stiffness I do mind. I rely on my ability to move to keep me out of some trouble. So... if you wish to finish the healing, I would be grateful.

Probably. ...Besides provided she stays here long enough, she'll probably get killed one day or another. With or without your help. [Raven believes in karma. To some extent.]

[She nods and walks to him.] Show me where the bruised areas are.

Then I think just letting her stew in thoughts of what I may do to her is good enough.

[ for a response, he just casually strips off his shirt. there's bruising on his upper chest, some of it a faded yellow and green but darkening to purple where the impressions from the two bullets left behind. ]
