My name is Flora, for those that might not know. It's nice to meet you. [Yeah her posts are tagged as such, but propriety etc etc] I know that there is a lot going on right now, so, if anyone needs anything--fruits, veggies, or other things--we could work out an...exchange perhaps? [She suddenly looks mildly uncomfortable, almost wincing at the word "exchange" in particular, but then she is smiling again, with gentle sincerity] If you don't have anything to offer, please don't worry about it, just try to pay it forward to someone else that might need help, if you can.

Secondly, Christmas is coming up, and other holidays too, it seems? We don't have them where I'm from, and while Christmas, at least, means the world to someone I know, I'm still learning about it, I suppose.

There is something I have been wondering, though?

Could someone please tell me more about Santa Claus? He sounds like a really powerful man with his Christmas magic.

A few things. [Relatively.] Like...how does he manage to get everywhere he needs to--does he really go all over the world? Where does he live? Is he a sort of wizard? And if he is, where do his powers come from?

The commercialized Christmas is harmless [Still something he could do without tyvm] but the origin of the holiday celebrates the arrival of a figure who reinforced the rule of a tyrant with his teachings.

As for Santa Claus, he is an idealized version of a Saint who once lived by the teachings of former, known for his generosity. While the figure he was based upon did exist, Claus himself does not.

[Unless SMT one day introduces Demon Claus, in which case he'll totally exist.]

Santa Clause is kinda a mythical figure. Stories say he gives presents to children on Christmas but it's really the parents who do that.

I think kids enjoy believing in him, though.

That he might, perhaps, not exist everywhere. [Maybe. She's skeptical about that!! But, she is entertaining the possibility.] But definitely does in some places, was based on a Saint, rides a sleigh with reindeer--

[Ok so he doesn't actually know that much either; it's a really bizarre human custom that he hasn't fully explored yet, even though they do seem to have interesting music. As it's primarily supposedly religious, and he is Kree, and they don't believe in things like that.]

I've been told he sits in judgment over small children's actions and brings gifts if they "behave" when he comes to town. There's a whole song about it.

I'm trying to work that out. A lot of it seems to have to do with Santa, but people don't talk about just Santa's magic, but Christmas a whole.

He's some kind of spiritual figure that gives toys to all the good children of the world on Christmas. Or I guess starting on Christmas Eve. I wouldn't be surprised if he had help, but I've seen people do really incredibly things with magic all on their own, so I believe he could do that, too. What I'd really like to know more about is his source.

I have access to the archives of knowledge on my world, and did know a Santa, myself. Though he was not the man of legend, he did give gifts all year round.

I can tell you all you need to know about Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, or Father Christmas. The Saint iteration of the figure was--
