[It takes Estelle a little tinkering to get used to the idea of the tablet. But she thinks she sort of gets the idea, managing to open up a video feed.]

Oh! There, it seems like it's working now. [It's almost like seeing Rita working with her blastia research a little....

[She pulls back a little from peering closely at the tablet, smiling almost triumphantly at having figured it out for the most part and giving a small wave.]

Hello everyone! I guess I'm one of the newer arrivals and my name is Estellise. Oh, but you can just call me 'Estelle'. I might not be quite as aware on the situation as others who have been here longer, but I'll help as best I can. War is a terrible thing and I'd like to do my best to prevent it escalating if possible. I've done some fighting back home and I wouldn't like for things to get too out of hand, with children or civilians getting hurt and caught up in this.

[She's worried there, obviously upset at the situation from what she has gathered. It's not quite as dangerous as back home with the threat of the Adephagos, but even so, this is still serious and it seems like they are bringing in a lot of people to help out the Initiative.]

Though I guess all of this might take a bit of....getting used to. This is quite different from Zaphias back home. I can heal, so if there is some sort of clinic or something I'd like to offer my help if I can.

Oh! I'm not sure if there are any books here but I'd still like to hear some stories! I think this is a wonderful chance to learn so much with people from such different places! I've never heard of 'Earth' before I came here so I'd love to hear more about it.

I wanted to also thank everyone that helped me when I first got here too. I think I'm getting used to things here now.

And....I'm sorry if Yuri caused anyone any trouble. It's...not necessarily his fault but trouble sort of seems to follow him sometimes.

[A light, almost sheepish smile. She knows what Yuri can be like at times and even unintentionally how often he ends up in the middle of things.]

Well, the blastia does affect the aer, it's why we are working to change things so we don't rely on the blastia anymore. But..my healing didn't rely on my blastia. I'm not really sure how to explain it, exactly. Rita would probably be better at it.

A combat medic? Someone who fights and goes into battle to help as well? Maybe.

[If Yuri would let her, that is. He and Flynn are undoubtedly going to be protective of her in this sort of situation. They would probably prefer for her to stay safe back at the infirmary where they know she would be safe.]

So it's an inherent power?

Interesting and different from my world. Sorcerers can't normally cast cure spells...

Yes, it is. But I'm....kind of a unique case back home. Nobody else I know can do that without a blastia.

What sort of spells or magic do the sorcerers back home for you know then?

They basically get the same spells as Wizards, but they only know a few spells and can cast each a lot. Wizards know a lot of spells, but have to pick a few to use once each - grabbing new ones each morning.

It makes Wizards kind of naturally more powerful, though Clerics and Druids are actually stronger.

Me? I'm just a Bard. One who can do kickass stuff, but...

Oh. I....think I get it? What are clerics and druids? I guess a bard is someone who can use their voice, right? It all does sound kind of different to things back home with how our magic works. I guess Rita would be more the one to talk to about all of that though.

A Cleric is a follower of a god - or more rarely, a metaphysical concept - who derives divine power in the form of spellcasting ability from their worship. They also get other talents, like turning their holy symbol into anti-undead blasts.

Druids are kinda like that, except with nature specifically and they can turn into bears. they're scary.

So their gods grant them powers to use spells? That's interesting.

And druids can....turn into bears? I've never heard of people being able to change like that.

Magic does weird things, when you think about it.

I suppose it does. Different sorts of magic from different worlds. Some might not even have any magic at all.

Actually, I'll just flat-out say it, there's quite a few that don't. Including this one.

But all the spells we know still seem to work, even if they logically shouldn't.

But then how come we can still use ours from home here? That's.....strange. I wouldn't think it would be possible.

Yeah, it's especially weird because I'm pretty sure that extends to forms of magic that rely on the natural mystic energies of the world around them to work.

It makes more sense for an arcane magic user or a Psion, but...

Tattoos and crystals? Are they part of your magic back home?

Nope. Those are part of Psionics. It's kinda weird.

So they use magic through their tattoos? That's interesting. I never heard of something like that before. I wonder how it works...what sort of magic that can use?

Beams in their eyes? Wouldn't....that hurt?

It sounds like it would. But I'm not sure. Maybe it doesn't with their magic or something. It just sounds....strange. Does that mean they tattoo their eyes? How would that work?

I don't know the details, but I don't think they go that far? The tattoos are focusing aids or something... I think.

I might be wrong about that. I never read the psionics books.

Focusing aids...I see, so that is how they use their magic? I hope there are some books here that I can use to learn from other worlds. I guess in the meantime I can take notes and write all this down.
