voice; forward dated to past midnight (action open to anyone around?)

( there's a slight sound of rustling after the feed clicks on, as oz makes himself more comfortable on a seat in the observatory. why he's there late at night — night by circadian rhythms, anyway, simulated nights on the moon — is anyone's guess, or maybe it's obvious enough. in any case, when he speaks up a moment later, he sounds to be in a good enough mood. )

What's your favorite story? Scary ones are probably best for late at night, but what I really want to hear about are everyone's favorites. For instance, something about a princess and a dragon, or maybe a mystery with a twist ending, or something out of history....ah, if you make it up or adapt it from a book, that's fine too! Or even if it's a real one that's happened to someone you know, ( and a light laugh ) — don't worry, I don't tell anyone!

But it's rude to ask without giving my own preference, right? I can start with mine, if anyone wants.

( he'll tell people about holy knight. all about it!!!! don't ask him about it. )

She's a beautiful person to match it, too. It's nice you have something to play! If she was here, then I'm sure she'd love to play with you. Though, of course, I'm pretty glad she isn't. Now, for the song. "Moon Princess," composer lost to the ages.

[After saying so, he stays quiet for a moment to remember and smiles. And hums! It's not as good as it could be, since it is hummed, but it's the right pitch.]

It's unforgettable, right? I have a feeling that the longer I'm away from Paris, the more I'll find myself humming it. Fondue, my canine companion, likes it too.

[Fondue gives a rather French woeuf! to confirm it. It's a very nice piece of home, even if the events surrounding it were less than savory.]

That I do! He's nothing special, but he's been my only family for a while now. He's the second dog in my unit, with Keith's golden retriever being the first. A nice dog - they're practically the same person in two different bodies.

[Raphael switches it from voice to video, allowing Oz to see what one Parisian called the Alsatian Cheesehund. Not particularly a cute or small breed and kind of rabbit-like, but it's a dog. Fondue wags his tail and woeufs again.]

He's been more useful here than I could've imagined so far, both to the people around us and to keep me from becoming homesick too quick. Do you have any pets?

[At the sound of a 'cat', Fondue makes a sound between a growl and a whine, and Raphael pats his head with a chuckle.]

It's too bad you're not in your room, it seems like, or I'd ask to see him. Is he a normal cat? I mean, you know, without any kind of powers like others have here.

[See Fondue? Normal cat. It's okay.

... Fondue is okay with this, though he still gives a half-hearted 'wrof' at the thought of a cat.]

That's good, actually. Can you imagine taking care of a cat that could turn invisible or something? Talk about a challenge.

video WELL THEN how did that work out huh? sounds like fun

Getting them to do things they didn't want to do might be more challenging though, like bathes and even grooming.

[Fondue loves the attention so he doesn't mind.]

How about a pet that can go super fast? Or one that could change colors? Flying and supersonic voices - there's a number of weird powers they could have, even combos!

[-- Actually this is starting to sound REALLY FUN. Maybe he'll pick up a super powered pet for Charlie.]

[All of them at once?! My, Oz, you are adventurous!]

Fortunately, Fondue and I know each other well enough to be able to talk to each other without any kind of secret power. [Woeuf!] But this is only the tip of the iceberg. If there were any that were affected by the radiation in a physical way, we could have pets that had anything from wings to fur that shot off like pins. Or extra limbs. Undead animals too.

[The Outlands - a ruin filled area with animals of all shades and size and scarce clean areas of rest. Raphael remembers reading about them. Not a nice place. Then again, anything outside of the city wasn't very nice, and the city itself wasn't very nice...]

And I'm guessing not many people bring them home as pets. So how did you get your normal cat?

A whole herd! I don't think I've seen a whole herd of animals in my life. [Being born and raised in the city does that to you. Plenty of artists though.]

But they have games like that? I'm surprised to hear that.

[Raphael laughs openly at it, while Fondue ops for growling at the broadcast. They're-- They're terrifying! It's kinda amazing. Even without having seen a herd, he knows that the ones back home aren't half as monstrous as these.]

Fondue, Fondue, it's fine. We won't be meeting anything like that around here for some time. [Hrrroeuf.] Was their milk good?

[The important questions.]
