[ there's an awkward second of someone fumbling with the device. when scott steps back a second later, the reason's obvious: he's trying to get it to balance on his desk, giving a clear view of both him and isaac standing a few feet off. ]

Hey. My name's Scott. I was here once before, so I guess I don't really have any questions.

[ except for maybe why am i back, but he knows that'd just be wasting time. anyway, they're broadcasting for a reason, and that's not it. ]

I know stuff is really weird here, like angels and superheroes and shapeshifters, so I don't really get the point in— [ keeping secrets? that's pretty broad. he obviously didn't map this speech out, so rather than making more of a mess he just stumbles for the finish line. ] I'm a werewolf. If you have a problem with that, let me know.

[ there's no challenge in his tone. it sounds more like "sorry, but we can probably talk it out". he almost steps forward to end the feed there, catching himself abruptly to add: ]

Isaac too. [ And Isaac offers a casual little wave at that, in the midst of all his eyerolling at Scott's... presentation of sorts. Really, Scott. ]

People are missing and people are hurt, and we want to help, but we can't do anything if we're too busy hiding. [ which is the real point of this, except hold up, one last thing. ] And we know there's a full moon in a few days, but we aren't crazy and we won't hurt anyone.

Werewolves exist where I am from, though I have only heard of them. [she shrugs]

Really? What're they like?

[ because if her point of reference is monster wolves, she's awfully calm about this. ]

There are ones who are born that way, and those who are . . . turned into one? By being bit? The former are able to control themselves, but the latter are the ones who turn under a full moon.

That sounds kind of like ours. Or us, I guess.

It takes some time, but we can learn to control it even if we're bitten. Where are you from?

Oh . . . how interesting.

I am from a country known as Daear. Before the equivalent of what is known as the medieval period.

Nice. So you didn't have anything like this? The tablets, the guns, the... time travel. We don't have that either, by the way.

Plumbing? I do not know this word.

Plumbing? It's... uh, pipes. They carry water underground, it helps keep things clean. Like bathrooms.

Oh. Was it hard to figure out how to use everything here?

Quite. But I have learned enough in my stay here to at least use the basic things.

So if you've heard of werewolves, have you ever heard of vampires?

[she nods] They exist where I am from, too. They are creatures of the undead.

That's awesome. Or maybe not, I guess they probably aren't very awesome in person. We don't have vampires where we're from.

I haven't run into them myself, but I have not heard good things, no. [she tilts her head, honestly surprised] I see . . . are there other were-creatures?

[ it took him long enough to wrap his head around werewolves; he hasn't put much thought into other things existing, so the surprise catches him slightly off guard. ]

Kind of. There are different kinds of wolves, and there was a... lizard. Werelizard? Honestly, we probably have vampires somewhere. I didn't even know werewolves existed a year ago.

Ah, so you were not born one, I take it?

[workout]

No, bitten. [ which isn't actually his favorite topic, but he doesn't sound overly hostile about it - just not quite as casual as he's been. ]

Honestly, most of the born werewolves I know are the ones that are kind of crazy.

[hyanaimne]

[she notes the difference, but she nods, deciding to slowly move away from the topic, or at least, something so sensitive]

So, opposite of my world.

Maybe. I guess it depends a lot on the kind of person you are before you get bit.

[ but he's not averse to changing topics, and the similarities and differences between their worlds have gotten his attention. ]

What about druids?

I suppose it does.

[the question surprises her again, but this time it's a pleasant one]

Yes, they exist. We had one, in my village.

[ druids are a good topic. except for the really awful ones, anyway. her confirmation gets rid of whatever guard he'd pulled up before, and he's genuinely intrigued. ]

Really? What were they like?

[it's been so long since she's thought about that person that it actually takes her a few moments to remember]

Their magic is somewhat similar to the kind I am able to cast, though they are more . . . mm, in tune with animals? Those who are powerful enough can take the shape of animals as well, or communicate with them, and the like.
