[ there's an awkward second of someone fumbling with the device. when scott steps back a second later, the reason's obvious: he's trying to get it to balance on his desk, giving a clear view of both him and isaac standing a few feet off. ]

Hey. My name's Scott. I was here once before, so I guess I don't really have any questions.

[ except for maybe why am i back, but he knows that'd just be wasting time. anyway, they're broadcasting for a reason, and that's not it. ]

I know stuff is really weird here, like angels and superheroes and shapeshifters, so I don't really get the point in— [ keeping secrets? that's pretty broad. he obviously didn't map this speech out, so rather than making more of a mess he just stumbles for the finish line. ] I'm a werewolf. If you have a problem with that, let me know.

[ there's no challenge in his tone. it sounds more like "sorry, but we can probably talk it out". he almost steps forward to end the feed there, catching himself abruptly to add: ]

Isaac too. [ And Isaac offers a casual little wave at that, in the midst of all his eyerolling at Scott's... presentation of sorts. Really, Scott. ]

People are missing and people are hurt, and we want to help, but we can't do anything if we're too busy hiding. [ which is the real point of this, except hold up, one last thing. ] And we know there's a full moon in a few days, but we aren't crazy and we won't hurt anyone.

[ druids are a good topic. except for the really awful ones, anyway. her confirmation gets rid of whatever guard he'd pulled up before, and he's genuinely intrigued. ]

Really? What were they like?

[it's been so long since she's thought about that person that it actually takes her a few moments to remember]

Their magic is somewhat similar to the kind I am able to cast, though they are more . . . mm, in tune with animals? Those who are powerful enough can take the shape of animals as well, or communicate with them, and the like.

The druids where I'm from, they usually help werewolves. So I guess that's kind of like being in tune with animals? [ which is equating werewolves to animals, awkward. moving on. ]

You said you do magic?

[hyanaimne]

Ah . . . that would make sense, considering. I do not know if the druids of my world do the same, but I would not be surprised.

[though at the question, she nods] I am a mage, yes.

That's awesome. We have magic, but it's all really... earthy. [ or evil, as far as he can tell. ]

It's pretty much all defense. I met a guy who can throw fireballs here, though.

"Earthy"?

Fire is my preferred element, so to speak. It is the one I use most often.

Earthy, like trees and ash and water.

[ is any of that earthy. he offers a smile right back, though admittedly excitement over fire magic should probably merit some caution. ]

Do you get to use it much here?

Does that magic involve manipulating them?

[she shakes her head at the question, though]

When I train, sometimes. And I have shown off once or twice, but that is it.

Not really. More like using them to manipulate people.

[ he sounds slightly unsure, but only because he's not entirely positive werewolves qualify as people when it comes to druid magic. ]

What was it for at home?

Ah . . . how strange.

Back home? It was used to fight, primarily. I was hired mostly as the magical protection of a group. One who can use magic is not rare, but a skilled mage is.
