[A rare video feed from Kaneis comes on, partly because one of his roommates had to turn on the tablet. It becomes quickly apparently why- it seems his hands and locks of his hair are tangled up with strips of brightly colored leopard print duct tape. Someone attempted to do home repairs when they knew absolutely nothing about home repair. The background shows one giant hole in the wall about six inches in diameter, just to give you an idea. Allen is next to him, trying to get some of the duct tape off]

Okay okay- I'll ask! Just get me outta this stuff!

[He gives a huff and looks at the camera. He looks rather disgruntled]

Say, does anyone out there know where a person can get a couch? Ours kinda...got wrecked the other day and we can't fix it.

Oh and, stuff to seal up holes in the wall? That'd be good too.

Thanks in- [And then he YELLS "OW" as Allen his roommate pulls a piece out of his hair not so gently]

I think you should stop, Allen. It sounds really painful. [ AHhh, those yells of pain just brings a worried look on Sophie's face. Too bad Zelos doesn't want to keep it on his hair though. ]

[When Sophie speaks up, Allen pauses before grabbing another bit of tape.]

Ah— Don't worry, Sophie, he'll be fine. It's only his hair. [ONLY.]

If he's going to be stubborn about this, what else can I do?

[Meanwhile Emil's shrinking back a little from Kaneis's death glare.]

S-sorry.

[To get attention off himself he quickly starts searching for possible alternatives again, and spotting the damaged couch gives him an idea.]

Maybe water would help, to make it stick less?

I dunno Allen, I think I saw my life flash a little before my eyes on that last rip.

[hm?]

Water? Do you think that'd work?

[ But there must be ~*another way*~ so Zelos doesn't feel so much pain!!! Emil's idea sounds like it would be worth a shot. ]

Maybe it'd be less painful. We'll have to try it.

[debtor]

[Allen has doubts, considering how sticky this stuff is, but if they want to try it, he has no reason to object. He lets go of Kaneis's hair.]

Mm, if Kaneis would like to.

All right. I'll go get some water.

[And Emil hurries off to the kitchen!]

[he breaths a slight sigh of relief]

Anything to keep you from cutting or ripping out my hair.

[ Tilts her head, inspecting Zelos' hair while they wait for Emil to come back. ] If the water doesn't work, then maybe we can hide the tape with a hat. Do you like hats, Kaneis?

[debtor]

[And leave the tape in indefinitely? Allen gives an encouraging nod, amused.]

I think a hat is a fine idea. Did you have a hat in mind, Sophie?

[Emil comes back in a moment, carrying water in the biggest bowl he could find.]

This might help, right?

I'm not keeping it in long enough to need a hat.

[He'll sit up a bit more when Emil comes back and leans over to put those taped locks of hair into the water] Thanks Emil. It's sure worth a shot anyway.

Asch said he'll repair the walls, and the Captain says he can fix a couch- so that's something.

You've met the Captain, Kaneis? That's great. He knows about lots of things. [ And tells Sophie things like her pigtails can make her fly... ]

I don't have a specific hat in mind, no. But we could try finding a nice one later if the water doesn't work out.

[debtor]

[Allen stands back while Kaneis lets his hair soak.]

I'm glad you've found help... [though it'd be nice if Kaneis could learn how to do these sorts of things himself, so they can avoid future tape-related mishaps...

He looks back at Sophie.] That can be our Plan B. There must be a hat shop somewhere in the city.

I'm not sure that plan is going to work for very long.

[Although it'd probably be funny, watching him wear a hat all the time...]

Yeah- spoke to him a couple times anyway. [When Malik was trolling but whateeeever]

- I'm not wearing a hat forever!

Not forever. Only until we find a Plan C. [ And maybe she wants to see Zelos in a hat too!! ]

There's nothing with a hat! You might even look smart, in a good one.

Shouldn't we see if Plan A works out first?

[He sighs and slumps his shoulders]

It's too late Emil, they've already been sucked into the hat idea. There's no hope that I'm gonna get outta this without one.

Don't worry. We'll find a nice hat that will make you look smart.

[SMILE SMILE. He looks over at Kaneis's hair.] Well, how's the water doing?

[Welp he tried.]

[Not Allen, never Allen. But he'll pull out a lock and try pulling at it, frowning]

Well, it's a little looser...

[ She's just gonna watch and staaaare. ] ...Try using more water. I guess Plan A is working. [ Slowly. Trip to the hat shop will be canceled...? ]
