[ It takes a bit of shaking the thing about. Despite the tutorial, this is so different to Edmund that he can't seem to fully grasp it at once. He eventually seems to get that it's recording, though, and the shaking stops. ]

Oh - it's on. Good. I was starting to think I'd broken it.

Um, hello. While a great deal of things have certainly been explained to me, and I'm doing my best to try and catch up on it all, I did have a question I was hoping people might be able to answer for me.

Have you come across anyone with the last name "Pevensie"? I'm looking for my brother and sisters. Or even just one of them, maybe. Lucy? Are you here?

[ He's not used to world jumping without her and he's hopeful she'll get the message. He presses his lips together a little more roughly, trying not to convey too many of his nerves and keep up a mostly regal appearance. ]

[ Have a smiling, but appropriately sympathetic, face. ] Can't say I've heard of the name, but I'll keep an ear out. And if you don't wanna break it, I recommend avoiding throwing it against anything. Otherwise, it's pretty resilient.

[ There's a muttered "damn". ] Right. Thanks, anyway. I'll try to keep from smashing it against any hard surfaces, then.

I'm afraid I haven't heard of that name...but what are their first names? Just in case.

Hey, no problem. I've got a little sister I've been looking for, too, so I get it.

I've never broken mine, so I'm not sure, but I'm gonna guess the higher-ups might be annoyed if you broke the free shiny they gave you. [ Well. Er. ] -- Sort of free. How much have you gotten the low-down on?

[She thinks, frowns, then shakes her head]

I'm sorry. The only one I know is Lucy, but her last name is Heartfilia.

I take it you haven't had any luck?

[ "Free Shiny." That's a way to put it. He rubs the back of his head a little. ] Er, well - I got a lengthy introduction, but it's all sort of sinking in still. It's a lot of information they try to get into your head at once.

[ His shoulders slump a little. Two nos in a row. Dammit. ]

Right. Well, thanks anyway, miss. Maybe someone else will've seen them if they're here.

Maybe so. I'll keep an eye out for them too. What's your name?

( He starts to type something about no, and about he doesn't get out much so he shouldn't take his words, but then he realises there are already replies that are negative and no on needs to get depressing news multiple times. Donny just sits, fiddles with the device and nervously chews as he types a different reply. )

I hope you find them. It's a lot to take in, but apparently time works in strange ways, so when we get home they might never realize we were gone.

I haven't. But there's lots of times where one person comes after another. Besides-- it might be better to be without your siblings.

Nope. No Dawn yet. Nobody from my world at all, actually. I'm a lone wolf. [ Sort of. At least as far as Sunnydale goes. She has friends here. ]

Yep. You'd think they'd have an in-flight training manual but mostly it's just word of mouth from the other transports. Personally, I don't always trust what the Initiative reps say. I know I didn't listen to a word of it when I first got here.

... I'm sorry. I think. I mean, considering, maybe it's for the best? [ He knows his family is used to all this sort of thing - weird world jumping and getting thrust into revolutions but - well, you know. Not everyone is. ]

I tried to listen, but it's a bit hard. I mean, I'm sure my sister Susan would pick it all up in an instant, but not all of us are a sort like her. Why don't you trust them? [ It's not to say he does necessarily; after the White Witch, he really ought to be more wary. But he's not sure what he makes of it all. ]

[ At least he's heard weirder and doesn't question. You're in luck, Garnet. ]

It's Edmund. And thank you - I'd definitely hate if Lu showed up here without being greeted quick enough. Peter and Susan are older and can handle their own, but she's just the baby.

[ It takes a while for him to get the text back to him because he's typing very, very slowly on this. He barely even uses a type writer, how is he supposed to figure this thing out. ]

i'm not worried about that much. i know how this sort of thing works by now. i'm just not used to being in another world without them yet i guess. but i'll be okay. thank you.

Yeah? So it's not the sort of thing where people from one world would arrive all together? That's good to know.

I'm not used to being anywhere without at least one of them. Peter would be a bit miffed if he knew I was off doing this sort of thing alone, at the least.

It's probably about half and half on whether people get friends and family following them or not.

I wouldn't bet on it.

That certainly seems to be the general message I'm getting. [ And he sounds mucho disappointed by this, as one would expect. ]

Well, if you're lucky, you'll go home soon and he won't have to know.

[He shrugs.]

I dunno. Some people like their mates. Some people get real scared and protective over em. Depends what sorta person you are.

It's nothing. I know how it is with kids, if the ones I knew were here I'd feel the same way.

She'd probably kill me if she saw me calling her a kid, but I guess the youngest sibling always gets stuck in that role.

I guess I'm not the sort for the latter. I mean, I'd be scared for them, sure, but they can hold their own.

I mean, there's also the general blah blah you're stuck here message, which I'm pretty sure you'll have gotten as well. Any more?

That and a bit about the weapons and situation and what not. It's still all sort of settling in.
