Say, to all you magic-users! I'm curious. How did you learn your art? I suppose this applies to anyone with an "unnatural" ability as well.

I have a puzzle for you, Exsilium. But that's not fun enough, is it? Let's make it a game! I'll pay the first three people who solve it 10✥... no, up to 50✥! The first one gets a special prize! Isn't that exciting? (⌒▽⌒)☆

Now, here is the situation! There are three houses. Each house needs electricity, gas, and water. The goal is to connect the houses to their utilities by drawing lines. It's easy, right? Very easy!

But there's a catch! None of the lines can intersect. But even with the handicap, it's a simple puzzle. I'm sure you can all crack it in no time!

Respond with your answers. Be sure to lock them, so there won't be any cheating~ 1✥ will buy you a hint.

It's an interesting puzzle, but I feel like you left something out.

[Oh, look, someone you haven't heard from in a while. If he still kind of sounds like a half-squashed toad it's because his vocal cords are crying for exercise! Help him out, OK?]

And that's a pretty specific question about magic.

[He was beginning to wonder where Kariya had wandered off to!] ... and another correct answer! You're all figuring this out quicker than I thought, ku ku.

I was very direct in my instructions, wasn't I? It's up to the contestants to decipher it for themselves.

[Kano has a completely innocent tone as he answers.]

As for the questions about magic... I'm bored, that's all~

I did get it right? [Just a hint of surprise, but then he just sounds curious.] I wonder. Is there more than one correct answer?

[There's a pause, and then he sounds much more serious when he speaks again.]

I won't tell you not to be curious. Just be careful.

[For a moment it sounds like he might say more, but he just falls quiet after that.]

What's the danger in asking a question or two? It's not like I'll try any of it myself! [A small lie. He might.]

Ah, and that's the sign of a good riddle, don't you think? In reality, there's never just one answer.

Do you promise not to try it for yourself? [Still using the Serious Business^TM Voice here.] It's not dangerous to know a little, but no one knows just how many types of magic there are here. How many types of power.

[Frankly, he has his hands full just dealing with his own magic, not to mention whatever the Initiative had grafted on. He hadn't yet asked about Kano's Initiative-given weapon, had he?]

... Ahh, I thought the puzzle seemed a little too vague. You must be getting all kinds of interesting answers.

[Whoa Uncle, he is getting really huge Parent Talk vibes from this conversation. Even so, he's still a little curious as to how many different powers there are around Exsilium... and how they could be used. Just in case, right?

Better to say yes. Makes things less complicated. And he wouldn't be trying it for himself, really. It's more for Kido... so his answer's not really a lie.]

Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about it! I'll stick to books and lectures.

[Aaaand he continues on like that part's all done and taken care of nope no need to talk about it ever again.]

Ah, that was the point of it. Everything's supposed to be up to the contestants~ I'm surprised, to tell the truth. I didn't expect them to catch on so quickly!

[Kids will be kids, of course, and kids will be curious. He recognizes that (just as well as he recognizes that Kano is the type to sniff out trouble) -- there's not a great deal he can do, but he can at least attempt to watch out for the Dan.]

There are all kinds of people here, too. [A little lighter.] You might have to be a little more creative with your puzzles, if you really want to present a challenge to everyone. Not that that one wasn't fun.

This was a test run of sorts. Now that I have the results, I'll have the next one be even tougher! [Impossible puzzles are fun to find. And there's a lot of books to flip through in the library.] It might give even an old wizard like you a challenge.

[Have a quiet laugh, though it isn't unkind.]

You're pretty serious about this. I'm not sure I'm so much of a wizard when it comes to puzzles, but I'll do my best if you come up with them.

Then it's decided! You're my official puzzle tester! I promise I'll save the hardest ones for you.

Eh? [Not quite as planned... but...]

--I'm getting a lot of titles these days. [Particularly with the Dan, it seems.] I look forward to it, though.

Gaining a lot of titles is a sign of respect and prestige, isn't it? You must be doing something right.

Ahh, it depends on how you gain the title, doesn't it? I'd hope I'm doing something right.

[There's a smile in his voice, but perhaps it's a good thing he eschews video. He's not entirely comfortable with the topic.]

Are puzzles a hobby of yours, Kano?

[He does seem to like sticking his nose everywhere...]

As Dan co-leader, I'd say you are. [Better than some of the other adults, at the moment. He hmms to himself.]

Sometimes! I borrowed this one from a book since I was bored. [And since he needed a roundabout way of getting rid of a cat...] Solving puzzles isn't really my thing--making them up is much more fun.

[There's a thoughtful pause.] Is that right? You must have solved quite a few puzzles, though, to be so confident when you make them.

I had a lot of time on my hands to practice! [Being a teenager on his own with no school and no job leaves him with an awful lot of free time, Dan activities aside.] I take a lot from other magazines and puzzles. But like I said, solving puzzles isn't as fun as watching other people solve them, heh.
