No idea on the magnesium, but I can tell you now you won't find MREs here. Your best bet is probably picking up some smoked and dried food from the market. On the plus side it might taste like actual food.

You might want to get into contact with-- bugger I can't recall her name but there's some wild woman running about with red hair and an accent thick as anything. Dressed in furs like some barbarian princess. She seems the outdoorsy type.

Might be a good place to start if you're looking for specific survival goods.

The medical crew will have stuff for first aide kits. As far as the others, you're just gonna have to check the shops. You can find shit like knives, matches, compasses - but MREs and anti-radiation pills? My guess is you're SOL for that kinda stuff

Someone suggested a good alternative to MREs. The medicine, where I'm from its injected, is probably going to be the hardest to find. I can't imagine anyone that has some not hoarding it.

Yeah, it's hard to get your hands on even a lot of common things here, let alone stuff like that. If anyone found it and is hoarding it, i can't imagine it'd be any good anyway

Probably going to have a hard time finding magnesium in any sort of stable quantity, though, so you may have to rely on some more old-fashioned methods.

Seems that some of the most rudimentary things are just entirely lost in this part of the world. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the AI on the other side of the pond is hoarding things like that.

Think finding flint and whatnot is doable in the marketplace?

Probably - hell, you could probably find a ferro-rod starter somewhere. Or salvage one off a lighter that's not too worn down.

The tech level's decent - the maintenance most of it needs, on the other hand...

There's a lot of places where buildings fell down and the stuff just got left where it was. Most of it's picked clean now, but over in the Outlands there's a few gems. You just have to go looking.
