i have some questions

1. how many people out there are musicians

2. would anyone be interested in playing in a band

3. is there even enough good instruments in this hellhole for us to form a real rock band

All i got is my acoustic guitar. I'd sell a kidney for a good working electric guitar and amp, but i can live with this. i can sing too, depending on the music. i don't write it b/c i'm shitty with lyrics and stuff but i know enough other songs it'll make your head spin. i'm the king of cover songs. but if the instruments are out there and you're interested get back to me. my name's johnny. idk it might be a stupid idea but i'm bored here a lot and didn't really know any other musicians back home so it might be cool to chill with some here. collaborate. stuff like that. we might even be able to get some gigs around town. i play at Nora Cafe and a few other places if you're interested in hearing what i can do, first.

Stop by the NORA cafe or one of the bars in town some night when he's playing. He's actually pretty good! He's a fiercely fast player, and his voice is best suited to the hard rock and punk covers he sings - low and gravelly. Once he's done his set, he stops to grab a drink. Care to join?]

Nah, I've been on a few others, but it was only the last two that got so screwed up. It started happenin' after their equipment got screwed in a United Earth attack.

But his music grabs Ibin's attention as he happens to be walking by NORA, and even just a peek will refresh his memory on who Johnny is. He'll come in and enjoy a beer with the rest of the set, and approach with another one in hand at the end.]

This place ain't been open too long, so just a coupla weeks now. Usually I play at the bars, instead.

[Sheryl is currently seated at the NORA cafe, propping an elbow on the table and curling a hand under her chin, a placid but otherwise bored expression on her face as she takes a glimpse of the acts on-stage. Amateurs... every single one of them, she thinks. All this time while she watches people enter and exit to perform, she's mentally nitpicking on their motion — the pitch is too high, the dance moves look like they've been choreographed by a monkey, the voice is akin to nails on a chalkboard, that person has no business singing!, etc.

But just as she's about to call it a night and rise from her seat, strong guitar riffs and an equally competent male voice coax Sheryl into staying instead, listening intently to his performance. Well... he may not be the second coming of Nekki Basara (that man's guitar skills are legendary, as are his songs), but she has to admit one thing—

That guy, whoever he is... is actually pretty good, amateur or no. It's why after he's done that she claps, a pleased smile on her face.]
