[On the screen is a blond woman, to all appearances human and doing a not-quite-perfect job hiding the kind of resigned annoyance only seen in those for whom getting hauled across space and time is just a bothersome day at the office. She's instantly recognizable to people from a wide number of related universes—it's Susan Richards, the Invisible Woman, visible for this conversation and wearing a black-and-white version of the Fantastic Four's classic blue uniform with the distinctive "4" logo on the chest. It's been almost two days and there's no sign of her teammates, so it's time to cast a wider net.]

Hello. My name is Susan Richards. I'm going to swallow my pride and assume that doesn't mean anything to most of you. [The necessity of doing so doesn't seem to bother her, even though the idea of not being known on sight is strange. Sue laughs a little, and lets go of her irritation. The only real problem here is that her family isn't, and that's always been a self-correcting state of affairs.]

If it does, however, do me a favor and check in? Avengers, X-Men, SHIELD—I'm not picky. [Sue's already run into two people from home. Maybe there are more. She'll even take villains, if only so she can keep an eye on them.]

Everyone else, nice to meet you. Lovely weather we're having, isn't it?

[Sue doesn't bother to switch off the video. Her mom-sense is tingling.]

My name? It means I'm a member of the Fantastic Four, one of the first teams the planet calls on in a crisis. [Secret identities are for people who didn't agree to let Reed Richards be in charge.]

[ It... takes him a minute, but finally he clicks the feed over and switches to video, as nonchalantly as he can. It's not as if it's new now, showing off the mask over the network. He offers up a grin and a small, green-gloved wave. ]

And not even a secret ID to worry about or anything. [ It's impressive okay. ]

Unless... is that always what you go by? If you don't mind me asking.

Well, some people call me Sue. [She chuckles.] It's my real name. It didn't occur to us to use aliases.

[Marvel hasn't got a lot of kid sidekicks, so Sue is not entirely sanguine about the young teenager in a supers costume who's looking back at her.]

They're kinda overrated. Take it from a guy who's been there.

That's a long time. [ if he picks up on that subtext at all he keeps it out of his tone. ]

...But I guess where you're from that could mean anything.

There was a long gap between the war and the accident that gave my family our powers. ...What are yours, if you don't mind me asking?

[Of course he has powers, right? No baseline preteen is running around being a superhero, right?]

Nah, I don't mind. [ and he says it good-naturedly. ]

But the boss makes the rules. Franchise secret.

[So Sue can tear them apart for endangering a child. :| ]

Not yet he isn't. I think they kinda figured out ahead of time that if they pulled him in with the rest of the pack we'd all be out of here in time for dinner. [ That's his theory and he's sticking with it. ]

It does surprise me no one's reverse-engineered the machine that brought us here yet.

[The one thing that's a more pressing concern than child soldiers.]

I'm thinking they have some kind of defense perimeter set up. I haven't found a way past it yet. [ He sounds apologetic. ]
