[ she almost made this anonymous, but in the end concluded she could figure out a way to ask what she wanted without incriminating herself. ]
I have two questions for everyone.
1) Are there people here who have more than human abilities that can affect other people's minds? And if so, are any of them willing to help others train in resistance of mental interference?
2) How many people here have no experience fighting?
Oh actually 3 questions, I guess. I wouldn't mind finding a few people to spar with, if anyone else is looking. I used to do martial arts as a hobby, so I'm not entirely inexperienced.
[ ooc: if anyone wants to log out / action sparring encounters just let me know! ]

None at all. But this is pretty fun. Easy, a rhythm she can fall into without much trouble and then build from, searching for the weak points and what she can exploit without exposing herself too much. His stronger punches don't go unnoticed, her blocks gaining more technique and precision to counter. She can't match his strength, but she has a lot more than it looks like and she's learned how to counter by angle and technique.
And she's going to go for some of those openings, looking to see if she can make her way past his own defense. ]

Not going to happen again - at least not there or from that angle.]

More importantly, she's spent most of her life fighting things or people bigger than her. It doesn't hold a lot of worry for her by now, and she grins at that noise and tracks the movement he makes to close up the gap. ]
Adapting to your circumstances?

[Which could be all lip given the little grin he throws straight back at her, but a moment later he closes the distance with a quick step and a heavy jab, all feint as his other hand swings out in an attempt to catch her by the arm and pull her off her feet onto the mat.
It's not really boxing. It's not really anything - pure brawling, the definition of fighting dirty.]

But she's also not supposed to be demonstrating more than the ability she's already admitted to, and as much as she'd like to see if she could move fast enough to prevent that she doesn't, the instinctive motion to try stopped almost immediately and turned into something more traditional and not enough.
She takes the fall in silence except for an exhale and rolls into a low kick almost immediately to help get herself back up. ]
No need for that, promise.
no subject
Which is when her kick catches him and he staggers backward, his center of gravity grossly unprepared for what she throws at him. It gives her more than enough time to swing back up to her feet.]
Shit-- you'll have to show me how you did that one once I've wiped the floor with you.
no subject
I'll compromise. I'll show you how I did it once I wipe the floor with you.
[ But she's not moving forward just yet, watching him instead. The time it took to get up stopped her from being able to take advantage of having unbalanced him. It's his turn to make the first move. ]
no subject
[Which is when he strikes out with a quick flurry of jabs and closes the distance between them with one long step. It's a straight forward move, but heavy like an oncoming car.]
no subject
[ Oh hey there, that was definitely a move. She skips blocking almost entirely in favor of moving to the side as fast as she can, taking a few on the shoulder in silence and reaching to see if she can get a grip on one of his wrists. ]
no subject
It's not a hard target to latch on to.]
no subject
She latches onto his wrist and steps in, starting to duck into what would if all goes right be a hip throw. Not that she's really expecting all to go right, with him. He's demonstrating a tendency to make things harder on her so far. ]
no subject
Then he goes ass over tit, falling about as heavily as a ton of bricks. Which would be cause for more celebration if he was a bit slower. As it is, Charlie grapples after her arm in what's a clear attempt to at least drag her down with him.]
no subject
He is way more interesting than most people here. ]
no subject
Preparation's never been his strong suit.]
no subject
Nice move.
no subject
So what - that's a draw, yeah?
no subject
Pretty sure it's a draw, yeah. I mean, I can get back up and kick your ass again if it's really necessary, but I don't feel like it.

[Charlie tosses her a curious glance, eyebrows on the rise. He walks backwards a few steps before swinging about and ambling to the bag he brought down with him. There's a water bottle there and he digs that out first, taking a pull from it and leaving it hanging between his teeth when he'd done. He pulls the rest of the bag off the bench and heads back over to her, holding it out by the straps as he takes the water bottle from his mouth with his spare hand.]
Alright love, there's your prize.
[Whatever's inside the bag bears only a very passing resemblance to any sort of engine part Max is likely to be familiar with. He elaborates after a moment:] Found something like a car half buried in the Outlands. Don't know if this is any use to you, but it might be worth tinkering with.
no subject
[ And oh hey by the time he gets back to her she's sitting up cross legged, bright eyed and eager as she holds her hands out. ] New things are always worth tinkering with. Even if I can't make them work I can strip them for parts.
[ And looking back up with a genuine smile. ] Thanks. You didn't have to.
no subject
[And she's a good enough sort that he doesn't mind a little time spent on her - good enough that he won't charge for spending it anyway.] You get any use out of that thing, I expect a bit of a kickback though you hear?
no subject
[ Standing up finally and stretching out, her smile settling into something more neutral but warm about the set of her face. ] So you have much experience with mechanical things or?
no subject
Me? Christ no. But if you're into motors, I've a friend you should meet. She's wild about cars and motorbikes and anything else that vibrates.
