[Video] Well this is awkward.
[ Oh hey look, it's Drift. And it appears he's finally given up the gun on the whole trying to pretend he's not a giant awkward robot. He sucks at this whole secret thing. So have a giant robot. ]
So hi there. Uhm. Right. So I'm Drift. And I've got just a few questions.
First is that uh. I'm becoming abundantly aware that I'll probably need to find a better way to fit in here for obvious reasons. I do have something called a "Holoform" which allows me to project a solid holomatter representation of a human. But I'm really. Not a human. So there's that.
I guess what I'm asking is for some help in how humans or organics are really supposed to act.
Second, I'm looking for work. It doesn't actually have to be paid work, but anything I can do to help. My skills lie in.
Uh. Lifting heavy objects, chopping things and... well I'm pretty decent in a fight. So you know. Sparring or training self defense? Anything anyone can think of that they need help with. Please don't hesitate to ask.
[ He's a little desperate to make himself useful. ]

-- Action maybe? or a log?
Okay! I'll see you then!
why not action it up!
There's a chain around its neck, a watch of some sort hanging down over its chest. Collette's ready to go, looking around for Drift! )
< Hey Drift! You here already? >
Sweet!
Oh! Wow! Oh my gosh wow! Oh wow... you're a dog.
[ DUH. Oh. Right. Holomatter. Okay. Gotta do that. ]
One second please!

( Her own eyes widened watching him come out of alt mode, giving herself a shake and letting her mouth hang open so her tongue can hang out. )
< Take your time, I'm not in a rush. Were you just a car? >
/STILL TRYING TO FIND A PB. SOBS.
Oh and uh. Yeah? That's my alt-mode.
[ He sits down and gets comfortable against a wall, gripping his great sword in his lap.
Closing his optics, the holoform starts to materialize on the ground beside him. ]
BRAVE WOMAN
( Or she did, but not while looking like this. Collette sat back, watching him -- do something. Her dog eyes aren't sure of exactly what she's watching! )
FINALLY sorry I gave up looking and drew them myself
So maybe. Maybe he had called in a favor with Pereptor and had him alter it to his... preferences. ]
How's this?
[ So much for not drawing attention to the hair... ]
hafds you gave up so you created awesome, i see, i see
< You look very... where's that outfit from? >
ffhjfghd flattery flattery!
[ He looks really pleased with himself. The holoform gives a little traditional bow and a wink. ]
true flattery loses not that truth!
( She stood, trotting up to and around his holoform. )
< Is it difficult to move your holoform at the same time as you move yourself around? >
FFFFFFFFF GOSH!
[ He kneels down and grins, peering at her. ]
Not really, no.
Hey um. This may be weird but... can I pet you? This form is just so... so cute.
<3
< If you want to! Can't say so many people think to ask. Oh, when you do, scratch behind the ears. Those are way harder to scratch with a hind leg than you might think! >
( That said, she holds herself still so that Drift can indulge in his dog petting urge. She divorces the reality from thinking back onto equivalents; she has to. It's how she can offer people rides, or play the true canine, up to and including the rather gross business of licking faces and defecating in carefully concealed public.
A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do... )

[ He doesn't so much make with the petting rather, he just hugs around her neck mostly.
It's just as soft and cuddly as he imagined. Just like Hachiko
that has been a good, but very sad movie. Eventually he pulls away and scratches behind her ears as requested. ]I know what you mean. It's hard when I get an itch behind my finials.

< You can just ask the next time you want a hug! Though dogs are definitely good for hugs, so are most people. >
( Her tail wags once, an allowance to the sort of reaction she wants to showcase. )
< Hey, in return, let me know the next time you've got a finials itch! I can help out with the scratching. Scout's honor! >
( Nevermind that she'd never been, and never would have been, a boyscout. Details! )

[ Physical affection and such aren't really his forte', it's easier when you can at least perceive something to be an animal. ]
Heh, thank you, I'll remember that.
[ He figures that must be another human turn of phrase. Standing up, he looks down at her with a smile. ]
Shall we then?
no subject
All this was so fascinating! )
< We should start close to here and circle our way out if we don't find anything that looks like it'll work. Sound good? >
( She hoped, since she wasn't sure what else to do. )

[ Drift takes the leads and heads off in the indicated direction. ]
I must admit, I'm curious to see your other forms sometime.
no subject
( Teasing as she follows along, coming even to him after a moment. It's odd to think how divorced he is from himself in having two technical, physical forms for the moment. )
< Stick around long enough, you'll probably see most of them! >
no subject
[ He peers in the window of a building. ]
Hey Collette. Can I ask you something a little personal?
no subject
An ear perks and quirks his way when he asks his question. )
< Sure, you can ask. I might even answer! >
( Her tail wags once, following the amused tone of her answer. )
no subject
You do like sassing me, don't you?
[ His tone implies that he doesn't mind in the least. It's nice to have someone to joke with. ]
But ah. My question is...
Do you get homesick much here?
no subject
She settles somewhere in the middle, pausing only long enough to account for a thoughtful moment. Nothing like the decision it really is. )
< I miss home. > ( There's the easy admission. ) < I miss my friends, my brother, my favorite pants... sometimes I think that'd be the best thing in the world! Having it all back just like that. >
( She looks over his way, closing her mouth. It's just for the moment. Soon after, she's sporting that canine grin, ears perked forward and overall posture relaxed for all she's leaning against a window. )
< But being here is its own amazing thing, and I think if I went home, I'd be a little Exsilium-sick. If I could remember! So I think it's natural. We miss the things we miss, whoever, and where-ever, they are. >
( She refuses to linger, knowing it'll only lead to dark, insensible places, ones she very much doesn't like to visit. )
