[ He'll be waiting there, probably working on something else in the meantime - he's got new servers to set up and integrate into the network to allow JARVIS to properly function. As it stands, he's been able to chat with JARVIS like the good ol' days, but the AI still can't quite access as much of the 'wealth' of information, nor does he have the space to simply download and store whatever Tony learns as he continues living here. ]

[ oh god should she. knock? just go in? what's the etiquette here?? shit she better figure this out, she's got a robot to look cool in front of. But, after a couple of seconds spent hesitating, she figures it's probably better to err on the side of not pissing Tony off, and settles for a knock. A tiny bit more timid than she'd like, because it's easier to be nonchalant in text. And this guy, from what she's learned about him through the tablets, is cool. ...Man she hopes she can look cool too.

A glance back at Drift steadies her resolve to look Cool and Unflappable, and she tosses over in a low tone: ] 'm telling you, spud. S'this guy or nothing. You'll see.

[ Drift still folds down into his car mode, revving his engine anxiously. ]

[ yeah because the car at his doorway won't be conspicuous at all

also he just told you to bring the stuff over he's not gonna bite your head off for actually coming over and bringing the stuff with you

so he comes over to the door, opens it and ] What does it look like? How much did you bring - because I need some to analyze and some to just play with while the tests are running. Scientist's prerogative.

[ Well, this guy get straight to business. She looks the tiniest bit wide-eyed up at him, but keeps her voice flat and hands free from fidgeting (even if they are hidden under the cape). ]

The car wanted to meet you first. [ She tosses a nod back at Drift. ]

[ He engine gives another anxious rev. ]

I... I'm sure you understand, if I'm going to give what little energon I have to someone, I'd like to meet them first.

It's your energon? Wait, how much do you have? [ Okay because he genuinely doesn't want to take all of it if you only have a little. Well, okay, he does, but he at least knows he should feel bad about it. ] Hi, my name is Tony Stark, and I'm arguably a cyborg. What else do you want to know?

[ that cyborg part is news. But she stays quiet, because this is probably between robot and cyborg, here. She's just the middleman. Middlebird. Yeah, something like that. ]

[ Drift finally apparently finds his bearings because he unfolds into his robot mode and crouches, extending a hand to Tony. A brief glance to Robin as if to as Is this right? We shake hands, right? ]

Nice to meet you, Mister Stark. I'm Drift.

I just want to know you're not going to use it to hurt anyone. It's a powerful substance with an array of uses and. And I don't want to see any weapons made from it. Not to say I expect it, but if I'm responsible for an incident, I know at least three mechs who would sell me for spare parts.

[ Sorry. The last time humans got their technology they used it to hunt and trap them. ]

[ Tony finds all of this both hilarious and surreal as fuck, even while reaching out to shake Drift's hand, because, sure, why not, he'll shake his hand. That's totally normal. ]

You're in luck, actually, I'm a weapons genius - well, a genius anyway - but I don't make weapons at all. Only my armor. [ Which is a 'prosthesis', duh. ] I'm not gonna make anything life-threatening, I just want to learn to synthesize it and play with it a little.

[ Drift's glance gets a quick thumbs up. Doin' good, buddy. ]

And I'll be watching.

[ It could be taken as reassurance to Drift, but mostly it's a reminder for Tony. She doesn't doubt he could pretty much pull off whatever he wanted with her watching every step, but hey, Drift doesn't have to know that. ]

Mm. That's a fair answer.

[ Robin's assurance helps too. He trusts her for the most part. Giving a final nod, he reaches into his subspace compartment and produces a full cube of energon, glowing bright pink. He sets it down in front of Tony. ]

Okay. Here.

I hope that's enough.

[ have you ever seen a child's eyes on christmas morning ]

Is it safe to touch? Because I really want to grab it, but I like my hands how they are. I'm very attached to them, especially this one. [ Waving the right. ]

[ shit, why can't she have a subspace compartment. She eyes that jealously for a couple seconds, but then her attention is right on the energon. That is so beyond her. She's not even sure where she'd start on it. Her next glance finds Tony, straight back to studying him.

This one is lower, meant mostly for Drift: ]

'Course it's enough, bet he could do it with less, too.

You can touch the cube, it's warm, but do not touch the liquid inside without protection.

[ A glance back to Robin, leaning down to her. ]

That's quite a feat. Though if he is as talented as you say, I'll look forward to the result.
