Video/Action; pretend this was posted at a normal hour
[The video feed flips on, focusing (after a few seconds of jostling around) on Galadriel, sitting on the steps of the Initiative Hold, her sheathed sword beside her. Having just finished training, she’s attired appropriately, wearing a simple dress and with her hair braided and wound about her head- displaying those pointed ears quite prominently for those who might have missed them before.]
I grow weary of the constant grey here. It is overlong since I have heard a running stream or seen the sunlight filtered through the forest canopy.
Tell me, those of you who have journeyed outside this city: does greenery yet remain in this world? It would do my heart well even to hear of it.

[ Why anyone would ever want to sit out here and enjoy the gloom, he wouldn't be able to say. ]
Well, yes and no. I'm trying to figure out if you're planning to challenge people who try to pass or not. That seems the trend with people who hang out in front of doors with swords.
no subject
That gets a full laugh] Not at all. In truth, I paused only to catch my breath and compose my thoughts.

Oh, good. I don't have to find a new way in after all. [ Now that he knows he's not about to get stabbed, he'll stroll up to the stairs and give her sword a curious look as he does. ] No bows for you, huh?
no subject
I can use a bow if I wish. But it is not my weapon of choice.
[It's a pretty normal longsword, the only thing truly remarkable about it is the decoration she has added to the sheathe: leaves framing a heraldic device.]
no subject
[ Elves and their arrows. ]
But good on you for having variety.
[ A sword is a sword to Caesar. The marking on the sheathe garners a second of interest of its own, but that's all. ]
no subject
[She gives a little smile.] I make no claim to mastery of either, of course, and I would prefer to forgo their use entirely.

[ Trying to line up all these other weird elves with what he knows about his own world's elves. They can't be all that different, right? ]
Though that's too bad. People always go for those weird foreign-made weapons. You would've cornered the market if you were some fancy elven blacksmith. [ A glance is given back towards the city beyond the hold. ] Well, if this place even had a market for swords.

[A little smile] I once had a friend who fit that description.

[ Which suddenly seems to make him less interested. Realms and nations he can talk about, but family things? Eh. ]
Did you? Well, maybe they'll end up here, too, since apparently the Initiative has no control over who that machine of theirs grabs.
no subject
Perhaps. They do seem to have a fondness for my kith and kin as of late.
no subject
[ It could turn into an elven reality tv show, just think about it. It's be great. ]
Your kith and kin... You're not related to all the elves that have been ending up here, are you?
no subject
Not all, no. My cousin was here for a time and my granddaughter and her father remain here still. That is all. [Until next intro log, when her daughter will show up...]

[ He shakes his head and finally gets moving again, stepping up onto the stairs and past her. ]
Oh well. Not much to do about that. Have fun with your gloomy weather.
[ His way of saying goodbye. Looks like he's reached his small talk quota for the day! ]
